I cut Sammy Knight before seeing that Payne will start instead of McGowan but can get Knight back. It is a dynasty league, but I am more concerned with this season. Since Knight is starting, is he the better option now?

see my post down below for other options

If you are more concerned with this season, then Knight is the better option. He still seems to find his way to 70 solos every year.

As for McGowan, I really don't have a handle on him. He impressed me last year when Archuleta was hurt and he started against the Lions. I was surprised he was replaced.

knight for now!!! Payne may hold down the job all season!!!!

Agreed - nobody knows how he does it, but Knight's money.

Did I miss something? I'm not aware that Knight is getting a significant numbers of snaps with the Giants right now.

I think you need a Plan C.

Yep, I just saw Sunday or Monday that he wasn't starting now either. I have Sharper, G. Alexander, and Kaesviharn at safety and obviously want another. Available are Jason Allen, Chris Crocker, Marquand Manuel, Piscitelli, Corey Chavous, Nick Collins, Reed Doughty, Charles Godfrey, James Butler, Michael Johnson, Jarrad Page, Aaron Rouse, Marvin White. Anyone stand out? There are 61 safties rostered, so the pickings are slim.

Scratch this idea. Knight may be inactive. That totally caught me off guard.

Of the ones you listed, I'd take a chance on Marvin White. He had a good preseason and has some upside. The others don't really excite me much.

Marvin White and Reed Doughty are jumping off that list for me. White may be better than anyone you currently own, though I still think Ndukwe may play a big role before the season ends. Doughty is well under the radar, but probably ends up in the box enough to stay on a 75 solo pace. Whether he keeps the job all season long is an issue, however.

I don't like Kaesviharn at all, but that's the Bengal homer in me. I'd bring in White immediately and think hard on the Doughty-Kaesviharn call. Marquand Manuel and Charles Godfrey are also high on the watch list.
