Which 4 linebackers would you start and why? Place them in order 1-4 1 being the backer you think will score the most. Tackle heavy.

Brian Urlacher
EJ Henderson
Ray Lewis
Mike Peterson
Lofa Tatupa
Omar Gaithers

For Week 1 or the entire season?

Urlacher @ IND
Lewis vs. CIN
Tatupu @ BUF
Henderson @ IND
Peterson @ TEN
Gaither vs. STL

This would be my order for the season. I would move Gaither and Peterson up one spot each and drop Henderson to 5th for Week 1, and drop Lewis below Tatupu

I agree with the players in bold but cant decide between Peterson or EJ, Also Tatupas injury has me alittle gun shy.

Urlacher @ IND
Lewis vs. CIN
Tatupu @ BUF

Henderson @ IND
Peterson @ TEN

Henderson @ GB is #4.

I might start Peterson over Lewis. Cinci RB's are a mess, they'll be passing.

Brian Urlacher
EJ Henderson
Ray Lewis
Mike Peterson
Lofa Tatupa
Omar Gaithers

This forum has gotten progressively busier over the past 12 months. It will really help us if you provide matchups (with home and away designations) when asking for lineup advice.

ETA: I see they're in a later post. thumbup1.gif

I think you can cross Gaither off your list for now. He may prove more valuable than many think, but he's not an option over any of the other five just yet.

This week, Ray Lewis' matchup looks a little shady, but it's really too early to tell. I think I'm starting Urlacher, Henderson and Tatupu and then fussing over Peterson-Lewis. I think I'd start Peterson, but certainly won't fuss over Lewis. I usually tell folks to go with their gut in these close calls; it's doubly painful to go against your gut and be wrong.

Good luck this week.

I definitely agree with going with your gut in a tough decision.

ok going off your WEEK one rankings I should sit Urlacher but that is against my gut!!! I have a hard time not playing Ray, is lofa for sure 100% recovered or is it possible he sits if the get way up or down?

Urlacher (7-3)
Henderson (8-3)
Peterson (8-2)
Tatupu (7-3)
Lewis (8-3)

Those are Norton's tackle projections for that group. Essentially, they're all the same. I'd bet that all five are within 1.5-2.5 points of each other in your full scoring system. In the slightly tackle heavy FBG standard system, there's a nearly five point difference between the first and fifth backer on this list, but mostly on the strength of the peripheral projections.

I'd not go against your gut here. There's a compelling argument for each as a starter.

With regard to Tatupu, he was limited in practice today but the Seahawks Insider Blog had this to say this afternoon after practice.

Lofa Tatupu will not go full bore in practice but he will play and Holmgren expects him to have a great game.
