White had 1 tackle for a sack

not exactly a "great" production

Ummm... just starting a thread Young 8. Feel free to actually contribute. rolleyes1.gif

Parys Haralson belongs in the discussion.

Bradley had impressive numbers considering Philly's limited opportunities. The Eagle had 29 solos, he and Mikell had more than half of 'em (15).

z, diles had 11 solos today

Good one.

Ellis Hobbs is going to have some real value this year, I think.

In a big play league, Travis Laboy may be available.
Anthony Borbely
White and every other player on the Lions defense was terrible.

I was not high on Bradley as others, but he was very impressive yesterday.

I'm tempering my enthusiasm on Diles until I see it again. Pittsburgh had almost 40 rushing attempts and was on the field all day. I didn't see the game, so I have no idea what happened to Greenwood.

Bell looked good, as he did in preseason.

Lofton really looks like a player.

What about Na'il Diggs? What's his situation? Is he at WLB? Is he playing on 3rd downs?

I don't think he is. Both Beason/Davis should be the 3-down LB's.

Interestingly, I read a member post that pointed out that Diggs got all his points on 1-2 downs, while Davis got all his on 3rd down. unsure.gif

Do you think this situation will continue?

I just have to assume that they decided to run right at Diles. I cannot fathom how the numbers worked out this way under any other scenario ...

Greenwood is amazingly inconsistent. He certainly was last year too, starting off cold and ending hot in terms of tackles.

Agreed on both counts. He was the last linebacker I drafted, only for depth, and I didn't start him. But, Philly-StL was one of our early games and so naturally I was watching him. I was particularly impressed that he put up those stats in a game where the opponent wasn't just ramming the ball down your throat after building a lead.
JM4Steelers
what about John Henderson? Thinking he would be a good pickup especially in DT required leagues.
b_taco

wow almost none of these guys are on MY WW, my league must be deeper than i thought.

Mikell belongs on here, much better than Dawkins.
Smoot did well in thursdays game before he left.
Antoine Cason

What's everyone thinking about Derrick Harvey? He didn't do much yesterday, but looking at my D-line, I need to start looking at taking a flyer!

His numbers were inflated by S. Springs being out. When Springs comes back, which most likely is week 2, then Smoot is the #3 CB.

Should I scoop up Dante Whitner? He's on our wire in a start 2 DB league.
J Giles Band
MLB Nate Webster

I realize he is likely not available now in deep leagues (he IS a starting MLB after all), but just in case because there are doubters.

Watching the game tonight Webster was extremely aggressive and often around the ball as evidenced by his 11 tackle (7 solo) line. Jamie Winborn also looked pretty good starting ahead of a banged up Boss Bailey tonight with 6 tackles (5 solo).

This is only one game, and there have been a number of detractors of Webster with history firmly on their side, but... the guy is, for now, the starting MLB on a defense that still appears to be porous against the run (despite the butt whipping the Raiders ran for 150 yards and averaged 4.8 ypc).

And everyone's favorite sleeper in the offseason to win Denver's starting MLB gig, Niko Koutouvides was nowhere to be found in the Bronco's base defense. He didn't register a single tackle.

What about Scott Fujita? HE had a great game. 8 solos and an int. Is Webster a better pickup than him? I have Pierce and Bulluck and am considering dropping both of them.

I might drop Bulluck for Fujita, but I wouldn't get rid of Pierce just yet, unless you have heard something I haven't about him ph34r.gif

I am in a DEEP 20 team dyansty league. We use a full 11 man defense (3-4, 4-3) type setup. I currently have Odom, Ray Edwards, Will Smith, and Mario WIlliams on my line but I am going to Add John Henderson.
He is a great talent yes he is a DT but he is a stud a pro bowler and he gets decent tackle numbers. I think he could get 4 sacks this season. Makes a great #5 DL with upside plus he has name value if I want to trade him. So that is my lone IDP waiver pickup.

I was also looking at Marvin White.

There are just a lot of good players on the WW and I don't want to sit around waiting on him to get better. One solo tackle to me is just unacceptable.
Aaron Rudnicki
CB Ashton Youboty actually led the Bills in tackles this week. Not sure he's worthy of a pickup yet, but he had a very impressive preseason and could be a nice fill-in for bye weeks at least.

Was Buffalo in nickel alot Aaron, I think they started the game that way. Have all the Shortcuts recorded, hope to get to that in the next day or so.

Agree on Laboy in big play formats. I am definately going to get involved on the blind bids for him.

Yes. It looks like Youboty played about 2 out of every 3 snaps in the game, lining up as the slot CB which kept him in the middle of the field where he could help on short passes and running plays.
