I have to think the top owned guys are going to be:

[*]Lance Kendricks

[*]Denarious Moore

[*]Chris Wells
Hightower will be way up there. Antonio Brown too.
Looks like $2 Evan Moore will there as well. And with the big lack of "bargain" RBs, I'm curious to see what the percentages are on the $2 and $3 backs is this year(AKA the lottery ticket players). I have a feeling there will be several with a decently large ownership.
Agree with those listed here. I would add Burleson and maybe Lee Evans from the mid-priced WRs. Manningham will be WR2 for lots of teams. I'm surprised more teams aren't listing Olsen.

Locked up.

I'm probably not going to be able to check this thread as much as I'd like. So if anyone spots anything fishy, please shoot me an email. (My last name) at footballguys.com. Thanks.

Here are the preliminary ownership stats.

The sim will show everyone with 100% chance to advance this week, so there's no need for that.

Ryan Williams $15 0.3% :(

David Gettis $ 5 0.1% :(

Tony Moeaki $ 9 1.1% :(

John Carlson $ 2 1.4% :(

Peyton Manning $26 0.2%

I really don't like my team. I liked my first version better. :wall:

QB - Matt Ryan - ATL/8 - $21QB - Matthew Stafford - DET/9 - $18Wanted to have Rivers here...just couldnt make the numbers work....IMO cant justify carrying 3 QB's....Need to go for quality here and pay a premium for it. Would have also like to go Ryan and Freeman, but alas...they share the same bye week. I think that would have been a really solid tandem to have.RB - Darren McFadden - OAK/8 - $28RB - Chris Wells - ARI/6 - $16RB - Reggie Bush - MIA/5 - $15RB - Tim Hightower - WAS/5 - $14RB - Kendall Hunter - SF/7 - $6Of the several dozen iterations previous, all had Felix Jones as part of the equation....really sux that so many quality medium value RB's shared a week 5 bye. I would have been up a creek come week 5 with Jones, Bush, and Hightower.....swapped out Jones for McFadden and deleted Delone Carter to make this work. I really think Hunter has a good chance to start 2-3 games minimum this year. Time will tell.WR - Percy Harvin - MIN/9 - $22WR - Mario Manningham - NYG/7 - $19WR - Julio Jones - ATL/8 - $17WR - Nate Burleson - DET/9 - $8WR - Danny Amendola - STL/5 - $8WR - Earl Bennett - CHI/8 - $8WR - Antonio Brown - PIT/11 - $3WR - Denarius Moore - OAK/8 - $3I knew going in , I wanted at least 8 WR's. Really wanted to find a way to get VJAX on the roster, again just couldnt make it work. Another would have been Britt who is taylor made for this type format. Ive finally drank enough of the koolaid y'all been serving on JJ to get on board. The decision was made easier once Manning problems became more amplified (removed Collie). For $$ 24, seems like a really good value play to grab Burleson, Amendola, Bennett. Man crush on Manningham this year....have tried to acquire in every single league im in..( got him in 4 of 7 leagues )..Will see how this plays out..(fingers crossed) TE - Owen Daniels - HOU/11 - $12TE - Aaron Hernandez - NE/7 - $10TE - Lance Kendricks - STL/5 - $6The TE spot was actually quite easy to lock onto IMO. Wanted 3 as I think the TE plays a HUGE flex role participant, especially at 1.5 per recpt. OK Waldman, uve got me sold on Hernandez. Love what Kendricks brings to the table. Daniels rock solid at that price (could have easily gone Jared Cook as well.) To me, with so many bargains in the TE area, it neutralized looking at the higher priced options of the Big 5, especially in bestball format. PK - Josh Brown - STL/5 - $3PK - Nick Folk - NYJ/8 - $3PK - Jay Feely - ARI/6 - $2PK - Phil Dawson - CLE/5 - $2Wanted 4, got 4...play the numbers game here at low cost...No need to spend for the higher ticket items...somebody always comes thru week to week. If I could have squeezed in a 5th, would have done it. TD - Houston Texans - HOU/11 - $3TD - St. Louis Rams - STL/5 - $3Two low cost D's ...Feel comfortable with this team....Made the final 250 2 out of last 3 years...I was bounced week 8 last year......
:goodposting: I wish more people would use this format to post their teams. A list of players alone is boring and doesn't have much value. That same list with a few short lines showing the strategy and thought process behind the selections is gold.

Is 18 always this high?

Could have sworn the last few years early 20's was the highest?

No sense posting my team as it obviously represents the total consensus of all rostered players this season!

I'm Cantonese32, the most uninteresting team in the contest..."Stay Vanilla my Friends."

Me too, but I've got Titus Young. Luckily 1500/19 is his floor.

Team High Octane:

QB:

T. Brady $27

M. Stafford $18

Want to get at least 25-30 ppg from the QB slot, so I need a stud and a high-scoring backup. A 3rd QB would be nice but was a luxury I couldn't afford. Besides, I'm not buying into the Colt McCoy hype--I think if you're reduced to using him you wn't win the contest anyhow.

RB:

D. McFadden $28

C. Wells $16

R. Bush $15

T. Hightower $14

D. Karim $3

L. Stephens-Howling $2

I. Redman $2

Looking for at least another 25-30 ppg from the RB slot. Thought McFadden was the best value among the top ten guys and Wells, Bush and Hightower were likely to be high value 2nd tier guys. Although Bush & Hightower share a bye week, it's early enough that I'm hoping to survive (I also think most teams are going to have a tough Week 5, so scores should be low that week). I had Barber for a long time, but switched out to Karim mostly because he seems more likely to have the guy in front of him go down. Karim, LSH and Redman are all cheap guys who will get some playing time and may break off a TD run and who could put up very good numbers if they become the starter because of an injury. Karim also provides insurance for injury-prone Beanie.

WR:

D. Bryant $21

S. Johnson $19

L. Moore $10

N. Burleson $8

M. FLoyd $8

A. Brown $3

R. Cobb $3

D. Moore $3

Quantity is definitely the way to go at WR. Hopefully, the multitudes provide at least 45-50 ppw. Bryant adds to my Week 5 bye woes, but seemed like a great points per dollar choice. Flipped a coin between Johnson and Manningham (thought about both, but the fact that they both share Brady's bye week stopped that). Had Lee Evans and Andre Roberts until Wed. morning when I decided I didn't want Evans's week 5 bye, too. When I dropped Evans for Floyd, it created a week 6 bye issue, so Roberts turned into Cobb, D. Moore (one of theose guys you "have to have" because everyone else will and you can't afford to let them be right and not have him) and part of Evan Moore. I think Antonio Brown could be the steal of the year at $3. Ben seems to love him and he may have some huge weeks. Unfortunately, over the last week or two, too many people have noticed the same thing. Cobb won't be consistent, but in that offense he may have 1 or 2 big days, which is the goal with the quantity approach.

TE:

O. Daniels $12

A. Hernandez $10

L. Kendricks $6

E. Moore $2

Looking for 15-20 ppw from the TE spot and another 15 from either TE or WR in the flex spot most weeks. Last year I went with Witten/Davis in the double stud approach, but this year the price difference between the top guys and the 2nd tier seemed too large. Getting these 4 guys for not much more than one of the Big 4 seemed like the way to go.

K:

J. Hanson $4

S. Suisham $3

M. Nugent $2

Hey, it's 3 kickers who will score points and have their bye weeks spread out. No rocket science here. Just trying to ensure 15-20 ppw from the combination of K & D.

D:

Dallas $4

Oakland $4

Arizona $3

See Kicker discussion.

Ended up with 27 guys, which is 2 more than I had last year, mostly because of my changed TE strategy. Last year was a success (17th overall, even with Aaron Rogers missing 2 weeks of the finals), so I'm hoping to get lucky again this year. Biggest risks are week 5 and potential injury risks Wells and Bush (and potential Skeletor victim Hightower) not being available when I need them to cover for McFadden in week 8. Very little in "unique" players but as I said in an earlier post, that's overrated.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one exciting* development.

* - only to people in this thread.

This year, just for fun, I recorded all your entries. The "winner" is KingPrawn, who submitted 886 legal entries before the deadline. Next highest was something like 450. Actually, I only started counting a couple days after it went live, so that doesn't count any changes made in the first few days.

Because I don't want to be charged with cruel and unusual punishment, I will NOT be telling you how many of your unsubmitted entries would have won the whole thing had you stuck with them. Or maybe I will. The Turk has to have some fun after his week 3 elimination.

QB - Tom Brady - NE/7 - $27

QB - Colt McCoy - CLE/5 - $10

Based on previous years, I have always found the Top 5 QBs always provide consistency in scoring for the most part in this format. McCoy at $10 seemed highway robbery with upside this year. So sorry apalmer, gotta disagree here. I think the Winner has McCoy on his roster this year. I debated the Rivers/McCoy combo, but with the early bye week for Brady, it really limited RB/WR selections, so I ended up going with Brady to push his bye into week 7.

RB - Steven Jackson - STL/5 - $25

RB - Chris Wells - ARI/6 - $16

RB - Reggie Bush - MIA/5 - $15

RB - Bernard Scott - CIN/7 - $9

RB - Marion Barber - CHI/8 - $3

I can't even begin to talk the changes here. For the RB Squad, I wanted the main guys to get receptions. Once Ryan Williams went down, Beanie Wells became a no brainer for his cost and the amount of touches he will get. SJax on an improved STL offense should stabilize the RB squad and Bush has tremendous upside if he is the main guy. As for Bernard Scott, I expect that by mid-season he should be the starter in Cincinnati, which would be low cost return. Barber is money at $3 for GL vulturing.

WR - Calvin Johnson - DET/9 - $31

WR - Vincent Jackson - SD/6 - $25

WR - Santana Moss - WAS/5 - $16

WR - Mike Sims-Walker - STL/5 - $11

WR - Plaxico Burress - NYJ/8 - $10

WR - Earl Bennett - CHI/8 - $8

WR - Denarius Moore - OAK/8 - $3

WR - Dexter McCluster - KC/6 - $2

WR scoring is the most variable scoring. I wanted to put some serious money here to get some serious consistency. Hard to do better than CJ and VJAX. Moss is Mr. Consistency in scoring for this style of play with PPR. MSW/Burress should be solid flex play from week to week. I like Bennett's upside and think he could be WR 1 in the Martz offense which could be gold. Moore, yeah I bought the hype. McCluster intrigues me. They've used him a lot in preseason. If he continues to get 5-6 receptions per game, plus some rushes he could be value for being only $2 and may become a flex play at times.

TE - Owen Daniels - HOU/11 - $12

TE - Kevin Boss - OAK/8 - $7

TE - Lance Kendricks - STL/5 - $6

Let's face it. Daniels/Kendricks will probably be on everyone's roster. Boss is a guy I liked at NY, but with OAK's leading receiver being a TE the last several years, hard to see Boss not producing in that offense. I think he has good potential and at $7 bucks a steal.

PK - Olindo Mare - CAR/9 - $2

PK - Jay Feely - ARI/6 - $2

PK - Phil Dawson - CLE/5 - $2

TD - Houston Texans - HOU/11 - $3

TD - Arizona Cardinals - ARI/6 - $3

TD - Buffalo Bills - BUF/7 - $2

The rest I just plugged in around bye weeks. Cheapo's work here due to 3-starters and can usually max production.

Really wanted Stafford here (looks like everyone else had this idea also), Since Its probably that Stafford could get hurt, I grabbed McCoy for value and Dalton as a gamble.

Jamaal Charles $34

Jahvid Best $25

Reggie Bush $15

Jerome Harrison $5

Ben Tate $3

Derrick Ward $3

Not a lot of people grabbed Best or Charles, so I am happy about that. In best ball, I am really happy with my top three here, then I backed up best and got in on the Houston Sweepstakes.

Larry Fitzgerald $28

Steve Johnson $19

Nate Burleson $8

Danny Amendola $8

Earl Bennett $8

Jabar Gaffney $7

Denarius Moore $3

Dexter McCluster $2

I went around and around with this one, people that had the opportunity to have inconsistent but potentially large games were on my radar and I wanted to grab a bunch of them and keep the byes to a minimum.

-------------------------

Aaron Hernandez $10

Greg Olsen $9

Lance Kendricks $6

Looks like a lot of people grabbed some combo of these TE's. I wanted to have at least 3 TE's and these were the best value I could put together with bye's

Joe Flacco $17 3.0% owned

I teetered with Flacco/Stafford/Freeman to pick behind Rivers. Early bye = good. Uniqueness is added bonus.

Chalk. Ugh. Surprised Scott is so little owned even with the $9 price tag given Benson has already spent time behind bars this year.
That boy ain't right. Thankfully I have Forsett to really cheer for here. 11th hour upgrade from Blount to McFadden did nothing as
far as uniqueness.

Roscoe Parrish $2 3.2% owned

More Chalk at the top. Shocked Earl Bennett and Hester are both low, was flip flopping them a lot to account for that omni-present
one dollar adjustment. I think I put Massaquai in there just because I always have him on this team. He never does anything.
Heyward-Bey/Moore Oakland double dip for $6 seemed like a no brainer. Same with Burleson/Titus. Apparently you had to have
no brain to do it.

I feel like I just had to stay after school to clean the erasers. Watson/Moore are the only two players on every single submission
I made. Go nuts week 5 Hernandez! Had Winslow (2.6%) checked until I decided to get McFadden. I am a sheep.

I will be getting little to no push from K/ST play. Went with only 3 K to get an extra WR. Seemed like last year I was always wishing
I had more of those. Go Connor!

I spent way too much time fiddling with this, and I'm glad the deadline has passed. I believe in the large, balanced lineup. I wanted to spread out the $$$ and roster spots as much as I could. I figured with 30 spots, I would use 3 for each starter (with an extra RB, WR, and TE for the flex). I didn't think there was a cheap 3rd QB, so I used that spot for another $2 kicker.

QB 2/37

RB 7/76

WR 10/93

TE 4/30

K 4/8

D 3/6

QB - Tom Brady (7) $27 9.8%

QB - Colt McCoy (5) $10 22.2%

I switched this at the last minute. I was going to go with the popular Rivers/Stafford combo. I have a good feeling about McCoy this year and this freed up some money. Also looked at Rodgers instead of Brady, but I liked using the extra $ elsewhere.

RB - F. Jones (5) $23 26.8%

RB - Wells (6) $16 29.1%

RB - R. Bush (5) $15 16.6%

RB - Hightower (5) $14 37.4%

RB - D. Karim (9) $4 12.7%

RB - Ben Tate (11) $3 37.8%

RB - Redman (11) $2 10.7%

Lots of the popular choices here. I felt like I was spending a little too much $$$ on the RB spot and went back and forth on switching either Bush or Hightower out for P. Thomas, but I decided to keep all of the cheaper starters.

WR - Fitzgerald (6) $28 14.6%

WR - Manningham (7) $19 19.7%

WR - S. Moss (5) $16 11.5%

WR - Burleson (9) $8 30.3%

WR - Amendola (5) $8 23.9%

WR - Shipley (7) $4 4.6%

WR - A. Brown (11) $3 30.8%

WR - D. Moore (8) $3 26.5%

WR - McCluster (6) $2 14.9%

WR - Parrish (7) $2 3.2%

Switched in Fitzgerald for V. Jackson when I had a few extra dollars from the QB switch. Went with volume of low $ WRs.

TE - Daniels (11) $12 25.0%

TE - Hernandez (7) $10 23.6%

TE - Kendricks (5) $6 38.1%

TE - Evan Moore (5) $2 13.4%

4 of the 5 most popular here.

PK - Feely $2 (6) 23.9%

PK - Mare $2 (9) 6.5%

PK - Nugent $2 (7) 3.4%

PK - Dawson $2 (5) 10.2%

DST - Jaguars (9) $2 6.5%

DST - Broncos (6) $2 14.0%

DST - Bills (7) $2 12.1%

Just went with a volume of cheap options.

Didn't put as much time into this as I normally do, and I'm not really sure I like how it came out:

QB - Philip Rivers - SD/6 - $24

QB - Sam Bradford - STL/5 - $17

QB - Chad Henne - MIA/5 - $8

RB - Rashard Mendenhall - PIT/11 - $31

RB - Mike Tolbert - SD/6 - $15

RB - Tim Hightower - WAS/5 - $14

RB - Willis McGahee - DEN/6 - $11

RB - Pierre Thomas - NO/11 - $7

RB - Ben Tate - HOU/11 - $3

RB - Mike Goodson - CAR/9 - $3

WR - Roddy White - ATL/8 - $30

WR - Plaxico Burress - NYJ/8 - $10

WR - Lance Moore - NO/11 - $10

WR - Nate Burleson - DET/9 - $8

WR - Earl Bennett - CHI/8 - $8

WR - Antonio Brown - PIT/11 - $3

WR - Denarius Moore - OAK/8 - $3

TE - Aaron Hernandez - NE/7 - $10

TE - Lance Kendricks - STL/5 - $6

TE - Travis Beckum - NYG/7 - $5

PK - Matt Bryant - ATL/8 - $4

PK - Josh Brown - STL/5 - $3

PK - Ryan Succop - KC/6 - $3

TD - Detroit Lions - DET/9 - $6

TD - Atlanta Falcons - ATL/8 - $5

TD - Houston Texans - HOU/11 - $3

One entry two weeks ago and I don't remember one person on my roster. at everyone obsessing on their entries. At best, you've got a 1/2000 chance.

Team High Octane:QB:T. Brady $27M. Stafford $18Want to get at least 25-30 ppg from the QB slot, so I need a stud and a high-scoring backup. A 3rd QB would be nice but was a luxury I couldn't afford. Besides, I'm not buying into the Colt McCoy hype--I think if you're reduced to using him you wn't win the contest anyhow.RB:D. McFadden $28C. Wells $16R. Bush $15T. Hightower $14D. Karim $3L. Stephens-Howling $2I. Redman $2Looking for at least another 25-30 ppg from the RB slot. Karim also provides insurance for injury-prone Beanie.WR:D. Bryant $21S. Johnson $19L. Moore $10N. Burleson $8M. FLoyd $8A. Brown $3R. Cobb $3D. Moore $3Quantity is definitely the way to go at WR. Cobb won't be consistent, but in that offense he may have 1 or 2 big days, which is the goal with the quantity approach.TE:O. Daniels $12A. Hernandez $10L. Kendricks $6E. Moore $2Looking for 15-20 ppw from the TE spot and another 15 from either TE or WR in the flex spot most weeks. Last year I went with Witten/Davis in the double stud approach, but this year the price difference between the top guys and the 2nd tier seemed too large. Getting these 4 guys for not much more than one of the Big 4 seemed like the way to go.K:J. Hanson $4S. Suisham $3M. Nugent $2Hey, it's 3 kickers who will score points and have their bye weeks spread out. No rocket science here. Just trying to ensure 15-20 ppw from the combination of K & D.D:Dallas $4Oakland $4Arizona $3See Kicker discussion.Ended up with 27 guys, which is 2 more than I had last year, mostly because of my changed TE strategy.
Wow, really close to my team. I switched out Bush for McGahee last minute and have some different WRs and Bradford instead of Brady:Matthew Stafford $18 Sam Bradford $17 Darren McFadden $28 Chris Wells $16 Tim Hightower $14 Willis McGahee $11 Montario Hardesty $4 Deji Karim $3 Ben Tate $3 Larry Fitzgerald $28 Dez Bryant $21 Mike Sims-Walker $11 Braylon Edward $9 Danny Amendola $8 Antonio Brown $3 Denarius Moore $3 Owen Daniels $12 Aaron Hernandez $10 Greg Olsen $9 Lance Kendricks $6 Nick Folk $3 Rian Lindell $2 Olindo Mare $2 Dallas Cowboys $4 Houston Texans $3 Buffalo Bills $2

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention one exciting* development.* - only to people in this thread.
:lmao: Looking forward to this.

Here's the team the computer built. I just submitted it as-is despite there being players I'd rather not have, but according to my algorithm this is supposedly "the best team available". Several players I thought would definitely be on the final team got dropped after the last round of projections. I starred the players that remained that I've seen pop up on most teams generated this year:

I saw someone else mention the Browns...at one point I had one Cleveland player at every position (McCoy, Hardesty, Cribbs, Moore, Dawson, CleD) and I really didn't see alot of risk (besides the tough schedule at the end of the year), or cost, in doing that. Ended up tweaking the roster somewhat though.....now I'm more Rams heavy, so I'm hoping to get past their tough early schedule.

Philip Rivers $24

Sam Bradford $17

Early on for a while, I had Rodgers and McCoy for $41. I lowered that to $34 with Rivers and McCoy. I'm not sure what happened yesterday, but I decided in the TE section to go from Finley to Graham saving me $7, which ultimately changed my QB pairing to this. I had thoughts about changing around my RB core (I could have gotten upwards of Rice) but for some reason odd reason decided Bradford was my best upgrade using that money. In the end, it looks like my ceiling on QB dollars was $41. There was never much debate this season on 2 vs 3 QBs for me.

--------------------------------------------------------

Matt Forte $29

Steven Jackson $25

Chris Wells $16

Ronnie Brown $8

Javon Ringer $3

Ben Tate $3

Cadillac Williams $3

Marion Barber $3

This is where the contest may be won or lost. So many different combinations were possible to build good cores while sprinkling in the upside/low dollar guys. I'm still unsure if I really like this group I ended up with, but I feel it gives me a chance to compete. I don't think I spent dummy money on anyone. I may regret not turning my $7 saved at TE into a Rice or McCoy or Mendenhall instead of Bradford...but those are the tough decisions that come with the contest. I could easily have spent more here at the expense of WR/TE, but I build the team to generally flex around my WR/TE's since I think they are more predictable. I feel I'm still covered cheaply with Caddy and Barber if one of my horses gets dinged...have depth with Wells and Brown...and upside with Ringer and Tate (I have a feeling one of them will prove to be well worth the $3). Had Derrick Ward and Howling in a few iterations, but decided to spend those few dollars elsewhere (and Chester signed with Arz).

---------------------------------------------------------

Vincent Jackson $25

Dez Bryant $21

Plaxico Burress $10

Nate Burleson $8

Danny Amendola $8

Denarius Moore $3

Dexter McCluster $2

Josh Cribbs $2

Felt solid at WR through most of the iterations. Early on I had Dez as my #1, but worked the roster around to include VJax with very little expense elsewhere. I love Burleson for $8 and even Amendola...but there were other guys in that area that were interesting also. Driver, James Jones, Lance Moore (injury concerns faded me) and a few more I can't recall. Plaxico is a slight gamble, but I'm hoping he gets alot of red zone looks, and with my $8 guys I decided to go for it. Moore, McCluster, and Cribbs have too much upside for me to pass up in this format...although there were two or three other cheap WRs I liked also. I feel like there is enough depth and quality here to be just fine.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jimmy Graham $15

Lance Kendricks $6

Randy McMichael $2

Evan Moore $2

Moore was on from the very beginning. From the point where I took Rivers I felt it neccessary to have McMichael for $2. Really was not spending alot of money here at the start, with Olsen as my top dollar guy, but quickly felt the need to spend more here to ensure solid TE points weekly and possible flex plays. So then one of Gates and Finley were on the team most of the time, but as mentioned above moved from Finley to Graham yesterday to bolster RB or QB (which ended up being QB). I'm high on Graham so I won't regret this move either way...but I may regret what I did with that money.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sebastian Janikowski $4

Jay Feely $2

Phil Dawson $2

I don't think there is a need in the contest to spend more than this on kicker. I've had success in the past with three kickers and I probably could have gotten away with three $2 kickers, but decided to roll with Sebastian as I didn't feel like that $2 was getting far anywhere else.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tampa Bay Buccaneers $4

Cleveland Browns $3

Feel like this is a good pairing. I'm not one to spend alot on defense and while I may have rostered three a couple times in the past, I didn't see the need this year.

Ben Roethlisberger

Kevin Kolb

Two-fold rationale behind these two gentlemen: 1. I love Ben's prospects this year and assumed his late bye would scare off a lot of folks, and 2. Kolb has some pretty nice looking matchups in games I deemed difficult for the Steelers' passing game(as well as Ben's bye).

Matt Forte

Mike Tolbert

Tim Hightower

Willis McGahee

Deji Karim

Ben Tate

Marion Barber

Isaac Redman

I swapped this group around what felt like a million times. Finally settled on Forte as my lead dog given a)how his bye worked with other members of the team, b) the fact that he's heavily involved in the passing game, and c)how cheaply I could acquire his handcuff. I figured Hightower would be heavily owned, but the price was too good to pass up. I expect Tolbert is good for at least 150-180 total touches and is the likely GL back for the Chargers. Not optimum as a 3rd option, but I'll take it. McGahee is a veteran runner in a John Fox run offense that plays in the AFC West, figured it was worth taking a shot on the likes of him over, say, the Danny Woodheads of the league. The rest of the guys are lottery tickets with Redman having the best odds to "pay off." He's slated to actually see a decent amount of work even if Mendenhall remains healthy all year.

Larry Fitzgerald

Dez Bryant

Lance Moore

Emmanuel Sanders

Danny Amendola

Bernard Berrian

Harry Douglas

Antonio Brown

Denarius Moore

Wanted at least one bona fide stud and Fitzgerald took care of that, but think I may have landed a second one with Bryant. I envision Bryant being the guy who may not be a true WR1(top 12-15) for the whole year, but he'll have several weeks where he is the WR1 overall. Moore's groin is a bit of a concern and I contemplated removing him last minute, but decided to keep him on the off chance that a ton of teams dropped him because of it. Amendola should get me steady, boring points as the slot guy in St. Louis, but in that McDaniel's offense maybe he has a bit more oomph. Rest of the wideouts I took were total fliers types that will maybe have one or two big weeks all year. Didn't figure Berrian would be very highly owned, but it's not like the Vikings have a ton of targets so I thought he was worth a shot. I don't really expect either of the Steelers guys to truly "break out", but I can totally see that Steelers WR3 position as a whole "breaking out" this year, so I grabbed both.

Aaron Hernandez

Greg Olsen

Lance Kendricks

Evan Moore

Fully expected the highest owned TEs to be Daniels and Kendricks, given the costs of each. Originally had both rostered as well, but moved shells around and swapped out Daniels for Olsen/Hernandez. Moore was a lottery ticket against him having a few weeks where he winds up getting featured in the RZ.

Mike Nugent

Jay Feely

Phil Dawson

Went cheap.

San Francisco 49ers

Houston Texans

Denver Broncos

Again, went cheap-ish. I think the San Fran D will likely score pretty well in this format(they get to play the rest of the NFC West 8 games, for chrissakes) and I took shots on Houtson/Denver in hopes that their sacks/turnovers increase because of the new schemes they'll be running.

McCoy at $10 seemed highway robbery with upside this year. So sorry apalmer, gotta disagree here. I think the Winner has McCoy on his roster this year.
Bret Maverick: "My Daddy once told me never ride a Colt when everyone else in the race is on a stallion."

The "winner" is KingPrawn, who submitted 886 legal entries before the deadline.
:lmao: unpossible
Possible. And for all that, this is what you get:Philip Rivers $24 Colt McCoy $10Wanted a stud QB and a cheap backup. Rivers was the cheapest option of the top QBs and for $10 McCoy was too good of value to pass up. Also liked the early byes. Liked Roethlisberger for $1 cheaper but hated the week 11 bye.Matt Forte $29 Steven Jackson $25 Chris Wells $16 Cadillac Williams $3 Marion Barber $3 LaRod Stephens-Howling $2Really played around with different combinations here and for the most part had Felix Jones and McFadden here. Taking Forte and Jackson instead allowed me to take their handcuffs as well with very little money spent on them. Liked Reggie Bush and Hightower instead of Wells but their byes clashed with Jackson's. Happy to see Forte with a small % of ownership. Vincent Jackson $25 Dez Bryant $21 Mario Manningham $19 Lee Evans $10 Nate Burleson $8 Bernard Berrian $5 Steve Smith $5 Antonio Brown $3 Dexter McCluster $2 Wanted 3 studs that would score consistently and Jackson was the cheapest of the top WRs that could end up in the top 5. Not really sold on Bryant but didn't like the other receivers in that dollar range that worked with the byes. Had D. Moore in here for pretty much the whole time but swapped in McCluster to give a little variance from every other roster. Took a gamble on Steve Smith (PHI) as I figure he has big upside in that offense and he'd be ignored by most. Owen Daniels $12 Aaron Hernandez $10 Lance Kendricks $6 Evan Moore $2TEs seemed to be pretty much chalk with everybody else. Daniels if healthy is a real bargain at this price. Switched between Olsen and Hernandez a bunch of times. Moore's potential was too good to pass up at $2. Rian Lindell $2 Olindo Mare $2 Jay Feely $2 Buffalo Bills $2 Denver Broncos $2 Would have liked more money to spend on DEF but couldn't find anywhere to give up and still be happy with other positions. Could have swapped D. Moore in for Steve Smith and added another $2 DEF but I liked the variance that Smith gave me.A large % of my money was spent on early bye weeks ($150) with 7 players on bye in week 5 & week 6.

The only shockers % wise to me were Fitzpatrick at 5.9%, Massaquoi at 5.1% and Britt at 3.5%. Those are the guys to root for I guess?

With injuries, 'Revis Island' type WR weeks, and previous history of large rosters vs small rosters, my goal was to get to 30 players.

Matt Ryan $21

Colt McCoy $10

----------------------------------

$31 total for QBs. Didn't want to spend too much more since then I could have a choice of picking a top 3 cost QB. So if I was spending $40+, I might as well take one of the top guys. I like the offensive weapons in Atlanta this year and am hoping Matt Ryan takes his next step to stud QB land. McCoy seemed the board favorite at cost and upside, so figured he would work for my 2nd QB. Originally had Dalton in there, but 2nd year guy vs rookie and Palmer resurfacing the last week had me move to McCoy.

Felix Jones $23

Tim Hightower $14

Pierre Thomas $7

Thomas Jones $7

Jerome Harrison $5

Ben Tate $3

Derrick Ward $3

Isaac Redman $2

-----------------------------------

RBs were aggressively priced this year. Tough to get two solid ones for less than $55+, which was hampering the ability to get to 30 players. So took the cheapest starters for my top 2 and then took 6 secondary guys to hopefully make some points on different weeks so one of them can cover for a bad week/bye week of the top 2. Also banking on more RBBC in New Orleans, KC and Detroit. Houston's OL is top notch, and Foster has already had two hamstring tweaks this summer, so for $6 I figured I could double gamble with both his backups in lieu of picking one and choosing wrong. This did cause me to drop out D.Moore WR Oak who seemed another board favorite, but I figure this could give me some uniqueness. If Moore lives up to the hype, then I'll probably be in trouble. If Foster does go in and out of the lineup all year, then I feel I should get atleast a #2 RB points out of my Houston backup pair. Redman was just a lottery ticket. On a good team, which likes one RB running the rock, and has shown some pre-season talents... so for $2, sign me up. With the high costs for most of the RB's I built my team figuring a WR or TE will end up being my flex scorer.

Vincent Jackson $25

Mario Manningham $19

Davone Bess $13

Lee Evans $10

Braylon Edwards $9

Earl Bennett $8

Early Doucet $5

Harry Douglas $4

Antonio Brown $3

Michael Jenkins $2

-----------------------------------

Had to get 8+ WRs. Too much fluctuation in scoring week to week to depend on less than that, especially once the bye weeks start hitting. Around the $8-$10 range, there were a bunch of choices. Had Lance Moore in there for a bit, but the groin troubles had me drop him. Too much risk going into the season hurting. Evan's ankle had me concerned too, but he is a perfect high score one week, low another type player, so I took the risk. Plax was in there for a bit, but figure the Jets would run more than pass and Plax already had a hurt ankle too in training camp. I didn't want to load up on guys already partially dinged. Next I had to get a couple solid guys and VJax was the cheapest I saw and I am drinking the koolaid on Manningham. Bess usually is a solid 5+ catch/week guy to fill in a 3rd WR spot. Edwards has skills and with Crabtree hurting, I figure he could grab a bunch of targets in SF. He is probably a high/low guy depending on the weeks, but that works for the contest. (so long as all your guys don't peg low all the same week!) Bennett seemed the only safe WR in Chicago, I'm hoping for a Flurrey type season in Martz offense, or atleast 3-4+ catches a game. Doucet and Douglas were both on good offenses and cheaper than the primary guys, so could score some weeks I figure and for the price seemed great value. Brown was one of the board favorites, picked him over D.Moore due to the better offense/team. Jenkins was a Minnesota WR gamble. Figure someone has to catch the ball there and he has the height to maybe be a redzone target for some weeks.

Jimmy Graham $15

Brandon Pettigrew $11

Aaron Hernandez $10

Lance Kendricks $6

-----------------------------------

TE's can dominate scoring in this contest. 1.5/catch is huge. Having solid points each week from the TE is required to survive late in the contest. The top guys had some questions and were costly, so I figured I'd swing with 4 to help with byes and any injuries. Cook was in there a bit, but he really hasn't had a fully productive season yet and a new QB and HC and Tenn... too many risks. Graham/Hernandez/Kendricks were all

board favorites, so I figured they would be on a lot of teams. So if I grabbed them all I wouldn't lose ground on bunches of teams when they do go off on particular weeks. Since my flex is from here or WR's, if two go off I'm safe too since I'm not expecting my RB's to contribute in the flex in most weeks. Pettigrew seemed a good value to add in a 4th wheel to the board favorites and give me some uniqueness.

Neil Rackers $5

Jay Feely $2

Phil Dawson $2

-----------------------------------

Went with one strong legged kicker on a decent/domed offense. Then filled in with cheap guys any PK can score some points in any given week.

Buffalo Bills $2

Denver Broncos $2

Jacksonville Jaguars $2

-----------------------------------

I was trying to save some $ with my D and also figured almost everyone will have one or more of the $2 defenses. So if I picked all three $2 defenses I wouldn't fall behind anyone else who had a $2 defense which had a big week.

DB contsrutcion underway. :coffee:

As I mentioned earlier, I guessed my entry was likely to be one of the least unique. I haven't had a chance to look at any of the ownership stats yet but just from skimming the last page or two of this thread, I'm pretty sure my hunch was correct. I relied heavily on FBG projections and Shark Pool opinions this year, so I knew I'd have all the same players as everyone else. We'll see whether or not that's a bad thing.

QB: I believe strongly in having one stud QB and one capable backup. The studs at this position are worth the money, they consistently put up big point totals and have high floors. You need a backup for the bye week (obviously) and also hopefully to mitigate the risk of a down week for your stud. In the 2 vs. 3 QB debate, I fall squarely on the 2 side. I chose Philip Rivers because (1) I think he has the potential to be an every week stud, (2) he was the least expensive of the top tier of QBs imo, and (3) he has a relatively early bye week (I believe in getting key bye weeks out of the way as early as possible, of course without leaving yourself too shorthanded at any point).

RB: I couldn't justify spending big bucks on a "stud" here. It just felt too restrictive, and you really need them to perform every week if you invest that money, something no RB is guaranteed to do. For a long time I had Cedric Benson, thinking he was a lock for tons of carries, but at the last minute decided his upside was limitied and perhaps I was underestimating his downside, so I took that $17 and spent it elsewhere. I'm counting on some of the "value" mid tier guys like Beanie Wells, Reggie Bush, and Tim Hightower to produce, and hoping for the occasional big week (or maybe late-season emergence) of one or more cheap guys.

WR: Again, I couldn't justify spending money on the elite studs here, but since you start 3-4 of these every week, I didn't feel comfortable rolling with just a bunch of cheaper "upside" type guys. So I think I've got a solid 1-2-3 core with Dez, Tampa Mike, and Manningham, and backed them up with a nice complement of Lance Moore, Burleson, Amendola, and Floyd, all of whom I expect to make it into my starting lineup several times throughout the season. For $6 I couldn't pass up the big-play potential of Brown and D. Moore.

TE: I think it's important to get good production out of this position, but I didn't want to pin my hopes on one big-money guy. For a total of $29 I got Daniels, Pettigrew, and Kendricks, and between the three of them I'm hoping they can replicate stud TE production at this position, and occasionally fill the flex spot as well with their 1.5 PPR.

K: Whatever.

D: See kicker.

Bye week analysis: I have 8 players off week 5. That's my worst week by far but I'm hoping it's early enough that I'll still make the cut. Then it's 5 players off in week 6, 3 players off in week 7, 4 players off in week 8, 3 players off in week 9, and 5 players off in week 11. The week 8, 9 and 11 byes are almost all "backup" players so if I make it past week 7 I'll be at almost full strength with my starters the rest of the way.

Team DAMAC3

This is my first year playing this type of format. Keeping moderate expectations. Thinking I should've only kept 2 defenses and cut my WR depth to use the extra money for stronger top players. Interested in getting some opinions.

Ben Roethlisberger $23

Matthew Stafford $18

Rashard Mendenhall $31

Joseph Addai $20

James Starks $16

New Orleans Saints $5

San Diego Chargers $5

QB - Philip Rivers - SD/6 - $24

QB - Matt Schaub - HOU/11 - $20

I wanted two good, consistent QB's. think it's a big mistake to go cheap with your #2 if you go with only 2 QB's. I had Stafford as my #2 for a long time but switched to Schaub yesterday, partly for a little more uniqueness and also because I think he is a little safer.

RB - Felix Jones - DAL/5 - $23

RB - Chris Wells - ARI/6 - $16

RB - Brandon Jacobs - NYG/7 - $16

RB - Mike Tolbert - SD/6 - $15

RB - Tim Hightower - WAS/5 - $14

RB - Jerome Harrison - DET/9 - $5

Most of my RB's are commonly owned as expected. Happy to see Jacobs is not very commonly owned. This could give me a slight edge if he performs as I expect.

WR - Mario Manningham - NYG/7 - $19

WR - Plaxico Burress - NYJ/8 - $10

WR - Lee Evans - BAL/5 - $10

WR - Nate Burleson - DET/9 - $8

WR - Danny Amendola - STL/5 - $8

WR - Malcom Floyd - SD/6 - $8

WR - Bernard Berrian - MIN/9 - $5

WR - Steve Smith - PHI/7 - $5

WR - Denarius Moore - OAK/8 - $3

Also a lot of commonly owned WR's as I expected. Not much to say here.

TE - Kellen Winslow - TB/8 - $13

TE - Owen Daniels - HOU/11 - $12

TE - Tony Scheffler - DET/9 - $3

TE is where I hope to get some differentiation. At 1.5ppr you want guys who catch a lot of passes and Winslow and Daniels fit that bill. I wanted Hernandez for his upside but just couldn't make it work. I went with Sheffler instead of Moore as my cheap flyer. I had both of them on my team for a long time but had to use that $2 somewhere else and I think Sheffler has more upside than Moore (I know I'm in the minority on that).

PK - Josh Brown - STL/5 - $3

PK - Olindo Mare - CAR/9 - $2

PK - Jay Feely - ARI/6 - $2

TD - Houston Texans - HOU/11 - $3

TD - Arizona Cardinals - ARI/6 - $3

Overall I think my team is fairly common with just enough uniqueness to give me a chance to win. I went with the strategy of spreading out my bye weeks rather than bunching them in the early weeks. We'll see how that works out.

My biggest concern would be that your #1 QB, RB & TE, as well as another RB & WR ($79 of you cap) have Week 11 byes. The cuts get pretty deep that late in the contest and you'll be severely crippled at just the wrong tme.

Peyton Manning $26 0.2%
I'm surprised he isn't owned more. Every year there are a lot of entries that are put in once and never adjusted, so I figured a lot would have been entered before his injury story fully developed.I'm also surprised that Stafford is the most-owned QB at 37%. I thought injury histroy would scare people away.

Only 10,776 total too... lower than last year by almost 3,000?

Guess congrats to almost everyone making it to week 3 already! (except for 776 probably garbage entries)

Ben Roethlisberger $23

Mark Sanchez $14

Had Rivers here for a long time but changed to Ben due to bye weeks at other positions. Figured late bye might scare people off. Sanchez has decent matchup on Ben's bye (@DEN) and his late schedule isn't bad. Also considered McNabb, Campbell, and McCoy.

LeSean McCoy $34

Steven Jackson $25

Mike Tolbert $15

Ronnie Brown $8

Isaac Redman $2

LaRod Stephens-Howling $2

Locked in on McCoy after watching him catch about 10 dumpoffs vs Cleveland due to pressure on Vick. Like Brown not only as insurance but I believe he will get a fair amount of action even with a healthy McCoy. Got scared off Felix due to OL issues and changed to SJax. Considered Beanie, Bush, and Hightower but like Tolbert's steadiness and bye week.

Antonio Brown $3

Dexter McCluster $2

Wanted 1 uber stud and decided on Fitz or Roddy. Went back and forth between Manningham and Harvin but decided they were close and I would save the $. Really like Ford and Evans big play ability in this format and I am high on Burleson. Had Lance Moore but injury scared me off. I expect MoMass to have a solid season.

-------------------------

Owen Daniels $12

Lance Kendricks $6

Evan Moore $2

Same thoughts as pretty much everyone else here. Would have liked Olsen over Moore but couldn't find the $$.

Josh Brown $3

Nick Folk $3

Shaun Suisham $3

Minnesota Vikings $4

Miami Dolphins $4

Denver Broncos $2

3 and 3.

I prediect a 457th place finish. GL to all.
