Curious what you guys think about Joe Flacco. His numbers have been remarkably consistent year over year. Do we just pencil him in for more of the same, or does his performance in last season's playoffs suggest that he's on the verge of moving into the 4,000-yard, 30-TD neighborhood? Or does...
It will be interesting to see if Pete Carroll and Darrell Bevell loosen the reins on Wilson. He actually attempted more passes over the first half of the regular season than over the second half. Wilson averaged 7.9 yards per pass attempt, which is hard to improve upon, so a boost in quantity of...
Condolences, Bloom. Glad you're back.
This question is primarily for Cecil, though I welcome Sig and Matt to chime in:
The man-love for Ronnie Hillman has gotten the attention of Audible fans, me included. But should we be concerned that Hillman won't make much of an immediate impact this...
It would be fair value if we were talking about Carson Palmer at the apex of his career. Clearly, that isn't the case. Palmer's arm strength isn't close to what it used to be.
Agreed. I think it was about an 8-yard run if the ump didn't shield the defenders. The difference (at least as Pnishthm and I perceive it) was enough to swing a game in one of my leagues.
16-team redraft league that began in 1991 (as a 12-teamer, then expanded to 16 in '93). The interesting thing about this league is that while yardage scoring is standard, TD bonuses have always been small -- 2 pts. for a TD run or catch, 1 pt. for a TD pass. Somehow it just works. I don't think...
Overrated: Michael Vick. The downside could be severe. An injury risk, a character risk, and nowhere near as a good a passer as the other top-10 QBs.
Underrated: Anquan Boldin. Doesn't seem to be getting much ADP or mock-draft love, but I think he'll have a huge year if he stays healthy.
Gentlemen of The Audible, I'd be curious to get your thoughts on the Buffalo Bills' running back situation, as unsexy as it may be.
Does Fred Jackson remain the lead Clydesdale, or does C.J. Spiller turn into more than just a glorified kick returner? And what do you make of Johnny White's...
I actually like Dukes. Sapp and Irvin, too, even though I hated both of them as players.
Lombardi is the guy I can't stand. If he's delivering news, fine. But he comes off as unintelligent whenever he's weighing in on matters of opinion. Hard to believe he was a high-ranking player-personnel...
A lot of wear and tear on MJD, and the Jaguars now know that they have a high-quality backup in Jennings, so it doesn't make sense to give MJD the same sort of workload he's been shouldering for the past two years.
260 att, 1,120 yds, 8 TDs
40 rec, 400 yds, 1 TD
Last year at about this time, I was listening to one of the Chicago sports stations and there was a segment on the Bears featuring a long interview with former Northwestern quarterback Brett Basanez, who had been on the Bears in 2009 but didn't see any action.
The discussion turned to Chicago's...
Brandon Jackson hasn't committed a penalty in four years, hasn't lost a fumble in four years, allowed just one pressure last year, finished with 1,137 yards from scrimmage last season.Good answer though.
