Like they say, there's only 1 ball. And Miami threw a curveball with this selection with 2 great RBs already on the team. It was a value pick at 120, but I was expecting a tradeup to get a DB, or oline/dline help.
To be determined. Chop didn't get many sacks (neither did Micah in college), but his pressure rate was the highest in the class. I think he's a liability against the run. I don't think there was a better edge after Latu, Turner & Verse were drafted. But there was a safer pick in Barton.
Every time I see Ross, I think of the lost 1st rounder last year and 3rd rounder this year due to Brady and Payton tampering.
If we had our 3rd this year, some options would've been:
Playmaking LBs who can cover: Payton Wilson, Jeremiah Trotter, Cedric Gray
Safety: Kamren Kichens
WR...
Armstead has no guaranteed money past 2024. Paul needs to start in 2025 for this to be a success. Who was Miami trying to trade up for? We'll never know.
From Barry Jackson:
>>As a senior, Paul allowed only one sack in 565 pass-block situations and had the highest pass-blocking grade among...
PFF was an outlier grade for both Paul and Chop. Draftbuzz's 10 expert raters had a median draft position of 68, high 3rd round, for Paul. And 25-26 for Chop.
Chop will contribute early, Paul might not be active until 2025. BPA would've been a safety or corner or Payton Wilson, someone you like.
Grier with another high ceiling developmental project in Patrick Paul. He won't help Miami this year. Miami will get a good FA guard after June 1 when Howard's $$ come off the cap. Kingsley could've played guard this year.
I selected him for the Dolphins in the early 3rd round of our FBG 3 round mock draft. Another head scratcher. Late 2nd early 3rd rating. Good run stopper.
