Demilitarizing is huge. The Bush years and the Iraq/Afghanistan Wars years were horrible, with law enforcement all over the country stocking up and spending taxpayer money on all kinds of surplus heavy weaponry. Every cop doesnt need to be equipped like theyre in special forces.

Correct. There has been a lot of talk about one of the effects of the problem--looting--but no talk about the root cause.
