I had It ranked at #17 . Wouldn’t that be 4 votes?

You did, for some reason I have it copied over as the original It. My fault.

Everyone, forget you saw It (2017) at #119. It's coming back later in the countdown with this extra vote.

Creepshow is 119.
Sorry, just wasn't sure this might have thrown things off for you...thx

Deborah Logan is on my found footage Mt. Rushmore. This one hit me particularly hard having had a family member who had Alzheimer's. The old woman in this is creepy as hell and it gets kind of bonkers at the end. The movie uses shadows and darkness incredibly well to create an incredibly unsettling experience throughout.

Videodrome's been in my queue for years. I need to just sit down and watch it.

I did watch Re-Animator recently and was underwhelmed. So many 80s movies are in the "you had to be there" category in that if there's no nostalgia involved, it falls flat.
Same for me - I only saw it recently and it didn't make my list.

I figured I would be higher on this one than most because I have always had a very high opinion of the franchise. This one basically says everything after the original never happened and really kicked off a nice reboot. This one and the next were very good movies. The last one, not so much but it was still good to see it "officially" end. I think if you haven't seen this, @shuke, you really should.

Another that needs more love. I remember being really impressed when I saw it a couple years ago. I begrudgingly watched it and honestly thought it woudl be pretty bad, but after hearing it pop up on a couple pods I gave it a whirl. It's one I wanted to rewatch before finalizing the list.

Some great movies featured today. KP highly approves of: The Orphanage, Deborah Logan, Jennifer's Body, and Jane Doe.

Every time I see the title Eden Lake, I think I've seen it, but I confuse it with some found footage movie I can't think of right now.

If you liked Jennifer's Body, you might want to give Lisa Frankenstein a chance. Both written by Diablo Cody (I'm making a leap that nobody voted for Lisa Frankenstein since it's brand new and PG-13).

I thought it was really fun. It does well straddling between horror, comedy, and whimsy. It would work really well as a first horror movie (I usually suggest Drag Me to Hell for this, too). It's on Peacock.

This movie has not aged well. I still enjoy it….but it’s not nearly as menacing as when I first experienced it at 9 years old.

Really really like this as well as part 2. I look at it as one movie.

Very well done with the source material and the acting was great.

Pennywise is very horrifying in this take vs the really strong 1990 mini series.

I find Curry's Pennywise way more frightening than this updated version, which just seems like a typical horror monster.

Agreed - with Jody's eyes peering out it's still freaky. The finale is still definitely creepy, too. And I still cringe every time I see an open window pane thinking of that younger brother.

Agree here too. Curry had those one-liners, which made him a more credible villain and closer to the book version.

With both versions, I found the endings a bit lacking, but I'm such a huge fan of the book that anything was bound to disappoint in comparison.

I loved Curry's take too…..but Sarsgard was quite evil and that damn drooling as he got closer and closer oh boy.

The sewer scene was nuts in the newer one.

Both were great takes on the book. Love them both.

In the 80s movie thread, I made way too long a post arguing why Part 2 is superior to the original and might be the best of the series, so this is the sole entry representing Friday the 13th on my own list. Jason;s murder shack, smarter final girl culminating in a better final chase, and more clever kills,

#115 - Burnt Offerings

A couple and their 12-year-old son move into a giant house for the summer. Things start acting strange almost immediately. It seems that every time someone gets hurt on the grounds, the beat-up house seems to repair itself.

This movie scared the crap ouf of me as a kid and still gives me chills every time I see it
Agreed - this is one of those movies that got a ton of airplay in the early days of HBO when it was a stand alone premium channel. That along with
The Car
and
Audrey Rose

One more correction to the list. WVU Alum had The Invitation listed twice and I realized I never went back and corrected it with the replacement movie he gave. This means the Invitation was actually number 132 (instead of 112). Google sheet will show the corrected list.

#116 - Friday the 13th Part 2

Five years after the horrible bloodbath at Camp Crystal Lake, it seems Jason Voorhees and his demented mother are in the past. Paul opens up a new camp close to the infamous site, ignoring warnings to stay away, and a sexually-charged group of counselors follow -- including child psychologist major Ginny. But Jason has been hiding out all this time, and now he's ready for revenge.

In the 80s movie thread, I made way too long a post arguing why Part 2 is superior to the original and might be the best of the series, so this is the sole entry representing Friday the 13th on my own list. Jason;s murder shack, smarter final girl culminating in a better final chase, and more clever kills,
I disagree that this isn’t me is superior, but it is fun. The first one is more of a murder mystery, who-done-it than a true slasher.

Bag head Jason is cool, but Jason isn’t Jason until Part 3.

There's so much more that makes it superior IMO. For instance, the cinematography. There are multiple scenes where clever camera positioning allows you to see Jason just outside a window, or running in the background, or emerging from the shadows at the perfect time. It increases the tension throughout. I don't get that from the other sequels.
