    Favorite Musical Duets

No real rules, though I wouldn't count members of the same act as a "duet" (like Simon & Garfunkel, or John & Paul). I'll start with Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway's "Where Is The Love"

    ****The Official Stevie Wonder Thread****

I reckon this thread won't get a ton of attention for our younger folk, but at least I'll have a sandbox to play in.  I don't really have a format for the thread as a whole, though I'm piddling around with a countdown and some record reviews and some cultural stuff and some contrarian takes...

    AT40 - This Week In 1977

    40. "I Feel Love" - Donna Summer This record was way ahead of its time. More importantly, I saw her sing it on American Bandstand in a teddy. I was 15

    AT40 - This Week In 1972

    40. "When You Say Love" - Sonny & Cher Didn't Budweiser steal this for their '70s commercials? Or was it the other way around? Anyway, it sucks.

    40. "Still Crazy After These Years" - Paul Simon I guess this means something to Paul, but it's a snoozer to me.

    AT40 - This Week In 1971

    40. "Battle Hymn Of LT Kelly" - Terry Nelson WTF? I don't remember this one at all, and I wish I hadn't heard it now. This is worse than the constant complaining in every thread about board moderation.

    40. "Hit The Road Jack" - The Stampeders God, no. Don't cover Ray Charles as Dr Hook.

    AT40 - This Week in 1974

    40. "Dancing Machine" - Jackson Five This ain't nothing BUT groove. The closest Michael and the rest ever came to gut-bucket funk. Also, I think this is the song Michael broke out the robot dance on.

American Top 40 - This Week In 1973

    40.  "Daisy A Day" - Jud Strunk This is awful. It's like a remake of that damned "Unicorn" song from the 60s. I'm already sorry I popped this one.

    AT40 - This Week In 1978

    40. "Like A Sunday In Salem" - Gene Cotton This guy's pretty much forgotten now, but he had some good records. He's hard to describe, as there was not really anyone in the late 70s doing what he was.

    AT40 - This Week In 1975

    40. "Rocky" - Austin Roberts Welp, we kick off with one of those whitebread story-songs that were so big back then. Stuff like "Blind Man In The Bleachers", "Shannon", and "Run Joey Run".

    AT40 - This Week In 1973

    40. Edward Bear - "Close Your Eyes". Typical early-70s wanna-be hippy-pop.

    AT40 - This Week In 1973

    40. "Leaving Me" - The Independents Not sure I recall this one, but there were so many good soul records coming out around this time. Sounds like a cross between The Chi Lites and the O Jays

Haven't had time to do one of these in a while. I may have to post in bunches, as I'm cooking a bunch of food. Let's kick it off with the mighty Temptations 40. "Shaky Ground"
