Rugby started today. Going to be a long season. My son is a 7th grader and he’s moved to the 7th/8th league. Man the kids are gigantic. And he’s excited he’s up to 95lbs. :lmao:
Ironic thing is his own teammates did him in today. He got a head to his chin and has the nastiest knot/bruise...
He’s a consultant. That explains most of it.
He’s also a consultant for people looking to own a business and strike it big. He operates in a bubble and talks to people in that bubble. What he says makes sense in that bubble.
Otherwise he comes across as a ****. I deal with people like...
So far it is a stunningly beautiful day. Traffic picking up. Local park is filling up, too. The local Foreign Legion is selling parking spots for only $25. Better than the $40 one park is charging.
The weather people told us this morning would be cloudy. There’s not a single cloud in the sky. They say 50% chance of high, thin cirrus clouds at 3 PM. I guess we’ll see what actually happens. Crossing my fingers.
ETA: Supposed to be 75 today. Color me shocked that there’s actually nice...
Music - I haven’t paid attention for a long time now.
I took my son to the movies this week - when I bought tickets, it had been 2 years since I’d last been. Nothing has been compelling since my daughter and I did the Infinity Saga. She’s gone to college and I just wait for movies to hit...
I’m glad someone else is in this boat. I’ve tried so many types of alcohol and just don’t like the taste. It makes for an awkward moment now and again but I’m old and don’t care anymore.
A small item that might help a little - make sure Roth is 100% stock then invest traditional in whatever gets you to your overall target allocation. Should result in more bonds in the traditional which means smaller balance come RMD time. Basically make Roth max growth.
One can check to see if their current 401(k) allows funds to be rolled into the plan. I had an old IRA and once I wasn’t able to contribute directly to a Roth, I was able to roll the IRA into the plan so I could start doing backdoors.
I think funding 529 is a good idea. The sooner the better since the Roth conversion requires the account to be open at least 15 years IIRC. Worst case if you overfund you can use it yourself or just save it for grandkids.
Only thing I’d add is Treasuries are exempt from state taxes. Depending on your state, that could save some taxes vs CDs. Plus Treasuries are more liquid.
