It sounds like you are in a pretty good place physically, financially and mentally. Incredible place to be. My first piece of advice is to remember not to let work define you … it is a means to an end. You need to figure out what the “end” is. You can go “all in” (sell everything and live in a...
His first words when he grabbed the mic were, “I hope you’re all ready to get emotional” … I kid you not. I’ve listened to a few of their songs on the radio and didn’t mind them, so not sure what put me off so much at the concert.
I know this question was targeted to another poster but this same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Went to see Nathaniel Ratliff and the Nightsweats, and City and Colour and thought the former was the headliner. I was wrong. NR&N came on and put out a fantastic show. Then C&C came on …...
Saw the Trans-Canada Highwaymen on Friday. These guys put on an awesome show. They are somewhat of a Canadian “super group” with members from four other Canadian bands, The Barenaked Ladies, The Odds, Pursuit of Happiness and Sloan. Most impressive was how they moved around interchangeable...
Not big on birthdays but we were in the midst of a trip to New Zealand and were supposed to be on a hike and helicopter tour on my birthday. Covid hit. We were given 72 hours to get out of the country. Spent my actual birthday back in a Winnipeg winter having leftovers … c’est la vie!
Sorry, I hate being negative about anything. Like others, I’m a huge fan and watched every season. It just seems so odd how far they seemed to have moved away from the original vision of the show. These international versions seem more aligned with the original vision.
I cannot recall a season I dislike this many characters. The only player of any substance is the guy who made the bed and killed it in the challenges. I think watching Australian Survivor is killing the US version for me.
I let mine know about a year in advance informally and 4 months in advance formally. I love my organization and respect my boss. If this wasn’t the case, it would have been a lot less.
As for those that don’t like the Boss (or any other musician, actor, sports figure, etc.) due to their politics or other personal take on life/society, I suggest avoiding it. I couldn’t tell you a single thing about any musician, actor, etc and their take on things because I avoid X, talk shows...
I did a football/music road trip in 2016 to Philly and Washington, and lined it up with what ended up being Springsteen’s longest US show ever … over 4 hours. I was a casual fan before then but have since come to appreciate much of his music. I think I have picked up at least five albums since...
Agreed MoP. Having a purpose is probably the most important thing for sustaining your soul. That purpose doesn’t need to be work. It can be anything. The trick (I think) is to at least give this some thought and incorporate it into your plans. Driving blind will eventually lead to a dead end.
I guess my reason is twofold. I get to “double dip” and collect my pension plus the salary for that time. And I still want to keep busy and do something, so working during the winter months in Winnipeg will help keep me sane (with a little travel sprinkled in).
