it seems like January 6th is the next big date on the Presidential calendar, with several events likely converging at the same time on that day:
VP Pence to preside over session of Congress to count electoral votes
large march/protest/demonstration/rally/battle royale being planned for DC...
so another new show that I like: Mr Inbetween
30 minute crime drama with good humor. the main guy doesn't look too intimidating, but he pulls it off. I think that's part of the appeal, he's always being underestimated by someone sizing him up.
be warned, even though it's on FX, there is...
you're at work with an uninterrupted hour ahead of you. so you throw on your headphones, ready to get down to business...what music do you put on? what motivates you and gets you in that 'state of flow'?
just curious as to what other people listen to while working, and maybe to get some...

I know this show might not be for everyone, but I'm really enjoying it. there is like zero action, car chases, gun play, kung fu, or any of that. but if you like interesting characters, intriguing personal conflict, and out of the park acting performances...

surprised there's no thread for this already... anybody else watching this show? season 3 just started.
it's occasionally corny, and it's never going to win any Emmys, but I find it pretty entertaining for the most part.
ETA: Christina Ochoa, oh my.
doing my first tomorrow, 5K Rugged Maniac. should be fun...good exercise, free beer, girls in wet clothes, what's not to like?
anybody do these and have any tips for not looking like a goof? so far I've got:
- don't wear cotton
- double tie my shoes
anyone watching? I know some people have given up on Idol, and I kinda did last season also. but since this is the final go round, I figured I'd give it a shot. I'll give mostly anything music-related a shot. plus, Harry.
so far, some pretty good talent. could end up being a strong finalist...
anybody watching the Women's College World Series? I know women's sports is mostly lolz, but some of these games get pretty exciting.
the UCLA-Auburn game on Saturday was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. in any sport. if you can find a replay on TV, check it out.
plus, you...
watched this over the weekend - Black Sea
my wife and I both liked it a lot, and with the weak crop of movies out right now, it's worth seeing if you're up for a movie. I think it's only limited release right now...
Jude Law is terrific in it. I've read that some people aren't thrilled with...
growing up, it seems that most people have always had that formal living room in the front of the house that looks really nice, but nobody ever goes into it. do a Google image search for "formal living room" and you'll see a bunch of beautiful living rooms...that most people under 80 wouldn't be...
according to Deadspin, here are the most distinct Thanksgiving food traditions for each state.
some sound good, some sound weird, and even though I'm in California, you can bet your #### I'll be trying out some GD cookie salad.
Oregon, vegan mushroom gravy? :X what's wrong with you people?!
we're looking at a house that the original owner passed away peacefully in within the last 3 years. we don't know the exact date or cause, except that he was an elderly owner who passed peacefully. house was built in 1979, and he was the only owner.
the house is in a location we like, has...
surprised there isn't a thread about this already: Fargo (TV series)
given FX's track record of putting out decent shows, I'm looking forward to this one. pretty good cast involved too:
Billy Bob
Martin Freeman (Bilbo)
Glen Howerton (DENNIS FREAKIN' REYNOLDS!)
Bob Odenkirk (as a deputy, no...
currently being reported on www.TMZ.com, probably only a matter of time until the other news outlets pick it up.
a couple days ago, he egged his neighbor's house...there is a long standing feud between these two. apparently, given the value of damage to the house, cops are at his place right...
it seems like there are several possible candidates from the St. Louis WR corps who mights have a good day against Seattle Sunday night. which is the most likely?
Danny Amendola - lots of targets, but strict possession receiver. touchdowns or big yardage are rare.
Brandon Gibson - decent...
Danny Woodhead has seemingly been omitted from the top 250 forward. his info also looks messed up in the LD. he is incorrectly shown as being on the Jets, but does not have any forward projections. however, there is a "David Woodley" who is a free agent, but who does have forward projections...
I didn't see one of these, so...who dat!
what we know (or don't know) so far:
Gregg Williams signed a 3 year contract as DC. big time signing!
we most likely won't have a lot of cap room and can't expect to sign any marquee free agents. a couple mid-level FA's are probably all we will get...

I've never seen a player break it down like this, and I thought it was pretty interesting. funny how it makes it seem like standard practice to take a nap during team meetings...
