I just watched this. It’s nice to see Walken before he leaned into his own weirdness, and it’s always striking to see how much Matin Sheen and Emilio Estevez look alike. The movie was decent, but there wasn’t any hint of horror. Maybe the book was horror, I haven’t read it… but the movie wasn’t.
Just missed my list. Completely bonkers movie. We're all just pressurized water balloons full of blood waiting to explode, apparently. You know the Rage virus? This movie has the Rape virus - pretty horrifying stuff going on here when a zombie catches someone.
This needs a Romance subcategory :-)
This is the movie I didn’t expect anyone else to rank. I didn’t know what to expect coming into this one and just really liked it - the romance story and the monster story.
I'm watching some of the movies from the top 200 thread. Deathgasm (Prime) was great - the main story wasn't so good, and the friend was a complete a-hole, but this movie is worth it for the funny bits... it's like Beavis made a horror movie. The visions the main guy and girl get when they...
A friend saw it in the theater and said the whole experience was bizarre and great.
Based on the look... is it a speakie or does it have piano music and text cards?
I would have rated this super high if I had thought of it as horror. Makes sense, I just didn’t think of it that way. It really was horrifying and seemed unstoppable.
The Abyss (Hulu): Did this get better as I aged? Great acting from the main characters, fun supporting group, perfect effects, and I forgot that the first 90% can be seen as a horror movie - this is essentially Alien but they’re benevolent.
Also, all of the stupid stuff that the people in...
The weirdest part of the honorable mentions is that a movie I ranked slightly higher isn’t listed, meaning it made the top 200 list, which really surprises me - eager to see where.
Oh wow, I saw Identity but didn't know the name. That would have been on my list if I had remembered - good call. Insanely good cast, too:
John Cusack
Ray Liotta
Amanda Peet
Alfred Molina
Clea DuVall
Rebecca De Mornay
John Hawkes
John C. McGinley
William Lee Scott
Jake Busey
Pruitt Taylor...
Any good recommendations on movie podcasts? I've had a few over the years but none right now. I'm looking for something accessible, not too deep - willing to enjoy a fun movie rather than dissect it too much, willing to try to enjoy movies of all genres.
There's some other movie with the same title that keeps confusing JustWatch - I should just rent this sometime, but I keep thinking it might show up on a streaming service.
