    Stat Corrections - Week 14

I don't get why it's so hard for some people to understand. Those yards were all gained during the course of a receiving play, therefore they are receiving yards. If the play had started as an end around to Sanders then all the subsequent laterals and yards would have been during the course of...

Will the Pittsburgh Stillers Pass on Bridgewater with pick #1?

Probably one of the biggest misconceptions about the Steelers. They go for need 10 times out of 10. Biggest needs going into this season? A replacement for Harrison, a replacement for Mendenhall, and a replacement for Wallace. First three picks? An OLB, a RB, and a WR.

*** 2013 Official Pittsburgh Steelers Off & ON Season Thread ***

FWIW he's basically been the star of training camp so far. Really earning the respect of the Steelers D and the local beat writers have been gushing over him. Looks like he's on track to be the opening day starter, but of course that all depends on how the preseason goes as well.

    RB/WR Cordarrelle Patterson, PIT

I'm no Keenan Allen fan, but you can't use him in a comparison like this. Maynard was barely D1 quality... any pass beyond 8 yards was an adventure for him. Meanwhile guys like Patterson/Hunter, Hopkins, and Bailey all had legit NFL (and in the case of Boyd and Smith high caliber NFL) talents...

Player Spotlight: Antonio Brown, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

Every receiver in Pittsburgh saw a decline in their YPC last year... it was a result of Haley's short-passing offense that was installed. Brown also basically missed a quarter of the season last year. Went down in the first half of the Giants game with a high ankle sprain and then set out of...

*** 2013 Official Pittsburgh Steelers Off & ON Season Thread ***

Once all the rookies are signed they should still have over $3 million in space after June 1st. Plenty of room to add a few FAs. I know John Clayton was speculating that we'll be bringing in Steve Breaston once the Steelers get that extra space.

    Keenan Allen

I will say Allen is the hardest WR to evaluate because of how truly awful and limited Maynard was. It's really tough to judge Allen to his peers when Patterson/Hunter, Hopkins, Austin/Bailey, Woods, ect... had legit NFL QB prospects throwing them the ball. I just thought Allen was really...

    Keenan Allen

Here's a good write up I found that sums up a lot of my own feelings on Allen, and touches on his balance as a runner as well: http://seahawksdraftblog.com/how-good-is-california-receiver-keenan-allen

    Keenan Allen

Keenan Allen plays with good balance? Completely disagree.

    The Foles Era Has Begun

Foles looks terrible. Passes are way off, and should have at least two more INTs.

Did Big Ben have that baby yet?

My guess is they've got an early week C section scheduled so he just misses some practice time.

Who is the Steelers RB to own going forward?

A lot of credit should go to new RT Mike Adams. No coincidence since he became a starter after Gilbert's injury that the Steelers have been running great. He's raw in pass pro, but is a very good run blocking tackle. A mammoth of a young man.

    Mendenhall

From what I can gather, I get the impression they're going to give Mendenhall most of the full workload ala the way the Vikings brought Peterson back. Dwyer is inactive today with Mendenhall back and the other backs have been a clear disappointment. He'll get a vast majority of the carries IMO.

    Eli is ELIte

No line? He had perfect pockets all night against an AWFUL defense. I'm all for giving Manning props, but that game tonight had more to do with how truly bad the Carolina D was than being a statement about how good the Giants really are.

    ***OFFICIAL*** Steelers 2012 Thread

I personally thought he looked very good. Held his own in pass pro, did a great job of pulling and sealing on some runs. Pretty impressive for a rookie.

Right now, who's more Hall of Fame worthy: Eli or Ben?

How would Eli Manning have looked had he been playing in the SB when he was 23 years old? Can't hold it against Ben that he was a hell of a lot better player out of the gates than Manning was. Did Ben play poorly in SB XL? No doubt about it. But how many 23 year olds take their teams to the SB...

Steelers Broke and 4-6, Bengals Division Champs

Wallace will sign his tender some time in the next couple of weeks. He might not get a long term deal, but he's not missing Sundays over this. He'll make more money playing on the tender this year than he's made in his first three years combined.

Steelers Broke and 4-6, Bengals Division Champs

I don't get this stigma that Pittsburgh doesn't pay top dollar for their players. For the last decade+ they've been basically right at the salary cap every year. Every other team in their division can't say that (especially notorious cheapskates like Cincinnati and Cleveland, who have been...

What if Mike Wallace is traded?

GM Kevin Colbert said he's not available for trade, so that pretty much ends this discussion. If a long term deal isn't reached this offseason the Steelers will likely tag him next year and try again.

    Steelers Extend Antonio Brown

Brown didn't take $8 million a year. It's a 6 year deal through 2017 as the extension is added onto the year he has left. The yearly average is a little over $7 million and the guaranteed money is around $10 million. A great deal for the Steelers really.
