I really like what they did positionally (not that I know too much about the prospects themselves), although it would have been nice to add a WR but they just didn't have the picks (and I'm happy they moved some of the mid round picks to acquire Turner).
Very happy about adding Gabriel Murphy...
The only logical way I can make sense of this is if they believe that Cousins is elite and can make them really good over the next 2-3 years and therefore, they will not have a top 10-15 pick in those years and are trying to take advantage of a top ten pick to select someone they feel is a QB of...
But in today's "pass happy" NFL, he's a guy that can get you "ahead of the chains" on early downs and teams will go for that!
Good NFL RB, maybe not a great fantasy RB...
I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Vikings sent a 4th or 5th to the Steelers to acquire him during the draft...Steelers come out ahead and the Bears weren't going to trade him to the Vikings unless it was a "no-brainer" offer...
He is one that I think the NFL teams are a lot higher on than the "mock world" thinks...wouldn't at all be surprised to see him go late first/early second...
The Vikings and Chargers have made a trade: Minnesota gets the #5 and the Chargers get #11 and #23.
With the 5th overall pick, the Minnesota Vikings select: JJ McCarthy, QB, Michigan
I have always been a fan of McCarthy and thought maybe he would even make it to #11 but with all the Harbaugh...
I don't think that what teams are asking for is ridiculous...just too many good players at positions of need to only trade if they get blown away...can't blame them at all.
Possibly, but I feel like trades made during the draft yield better value for the team moving up than those trading down. So, for the Vikings sake, I hope they don't make any trades until they see how the draft begins to unfold. (even though it won't be as fun leading up to the draft)
I don't see Darnold as any worse than Dobbs and Mullens (probably a step or two better actually) and JJ will be there. Dobbs was really bad unless he was off script...
I agree and I'm not saying Darnold is any good but Addison played well with Dobbs and Mullens so it wasn't like he had stellar QB play during his rookie season after Cousins went down.
Not saying he won't sign in Atlanta but the Falcons and Cousins can't be dumb enough to have him shopping for homes a week or two before free agency starts...makes ZERO sense for them to make public their "tampering" (I know it happens but teams/players aren't that stupid)
