The "push the pile" play is a scourge that must be done away with. It'll lead to many more injuries and fights as defenders grab a QBs leg or take shots at his arms and even head to get at the ball.
It's also anti-strategy. Sure, there are some wrinkles that could be run off the victory style...
Wanted to start a thread where IDP GMs could go to quickly find some cheap, short-term IDP production in-season. Most likely as a result of injuries to starters, but also possible due to slight changes in defensive schemes or a specific weekly matchup.
The players mentioned would ideally be...
Long-time GM in Zealots looking to expand knowledge, take on new fantasy football challenge. Please PM if the following league fit has a manager opening:
uses 2 copies of each player
Superflex
IDP
Would prefer TE premium or start 2 and a league that uses LeagueSafe (or similar product...
Clay Matthews started and played inside linebacker this evening. The game was an absolute beat down but Matthews playing in the middle of a defense that tends to stay on the field could be a real boon to his owners. He did appear to shift into edge pass rusher role on most 3rd downs.
If Clay...
Recently Deadspin posted a profile article on Jim Brown, originally written in 1981 by Pete Dexter.
From the article:
There was also a case in 1999 where Brown was convicted of smashing his wife's car window. He refused counseling and served a six-month jail sentence.
Jim Brown is widely...
From PFT:
Tom Brady is one significant outlier, but is the overall philosophy a solid one? Is drafting late round quarterbacks nothing but a waste of time for NFL GM's?
Greg Jennings was a class act his whole career in Green Bay.He'll always be welcomed back, but once a year when he shows up in Lambeau wearing purple, we reserve the right to treat him like any other opponent. Good luck in Minnesota Greg.
We all realize the running back position has been devalued in the NFL. However, didn't Lamar Miller look like a player at The U?
Seems like his draft stock has fallen a bit too far at this point. Is he injured, over rated, or is there something else that can explain this?
He's a steal right...
DEN LB DJ Williams has been suspended for 6 games.
He's appealing. Sounds complicated too. Something about a "non-human specimen"...whatever the hell that means. Of course there is also the claims of a bad tester, ala Ryan Braun.
According to TMZ Mike Vick is hosting a Super Bowl party. link
This seems like a very poor decision. He's just turning things around on the field and will be a free agent (likely tagged).
J.T. the Brick opened his national radio show tonight with, "If the CBA gets settled quickly, the Chargers would be moving to Los Angeles." According to "sources in the know". :thanks:
Of course that CBA thing doesn't sound like it's getting resolved shortly. Interesting information either way.
Just last year in the NFC Championship game Peterson coughed the ball up so many times there was talk that it was the running back's Achille's Heel. Fast forward to this season and he's keeping the rock locked up.
One of the few NFL players that solved his fumbling problems was Tiki Barber...
I can't imagine the #1 fantasy wide receiver through 5 weeks has been on the bench the entire season in many leagues, right?
He's been planted on my pine this season. Now he faces the Jets week 6. Start with confidence?
The Colts gave up on history, their players, their fans, and messed with the integrity of the AFC playoff race today.
I'm a huge fan of Peyton Manning but for the first time I can recall I will be rooting for Bill Polian's Colts to get their collective asses handed to them in their first...
LINK In the post game press conference Favre said that he told Childress that he wasn't going to come out. :goodposting: The Panthers continued to pressure the aging QB and went on to win the game with relative ease. Trouble in Minnesota?
The NFL has ignored the problem of concussions for way too long. Most agree with this. However, does it seem like this player concern issue has gone from ignored to micromanaged in the blink of an eye? This morning Jay Glazer was discussing the NFL's long-term plan for this and it included...
