2016 PDSL2 Discussion Thread (1 Viewer)

QB: Matt Stafford, Joe Flacco

Not sure of byes for this as MFL now done. I do like this duo and think they will make a nice give and take each week. For waiting till round 7 and 8, I think great value Grade B+

RB: Jeremy Hill, Jonathon Stewart, Isiah Crowell,Chris Johnson,  Paul Perkins

This is a TD group and hopefully Perkins adds some things.  Johnson will get carries and is injury to David from being a steal and we all know it will happen. Not the best but way better than my PDSL1 team here. So group will suffice and should not hurt me too much here Grade C+

WR: Dez Bryant, Keenan Allen, Golden Tate, Torrey Smith, Victor Cruz, Brandon Lafell, Paul Richardson

Absolutely love this group. Studs, guys who will see targets, some big hit guys who will have a big day every once and a while which is great for one of these and deep. Might be one of the best crews drafted for these. Grade A

TE: Tyler Eifert, Charles Clay

One of the best young TE's and a good backup who will have nice games Grade B+

PK; Justin Tucker, Greg Zuerlein

2 of the biggest legged Pk's who both will have jobs. Rams should be improved as will Ravens with Flacco back. I really like Grade A-

D: Pittsburgh, Oakland

Pitt will get you some games and hope they get back to pass rushing days. Oakland is the team as most improved by look of it this year. Mack and boys could be much improved and could surprise. Nice little duo here also. I was going Cincy and would have but the predraft is great but can cost you but it was little as like Pitt also.  Grade B+

If my RB's can just be okay, I think this team can go very far.
This is a decent team in a 12 teamer...Really good drafting.

4.13    Ben Roethlisberger PIT QB6 (8)
14.13 Carson Wentz FA QB31 (4)
19.04 Josh McCown CLE QB34 (13)

Thought the Rams were moving up to take Wentz so I felt the need to add McCown since Rams and Steelers share the same bye week.  Think McCown ends up in DEN, so thought that was the play. Things have kinda changed now, and good chance Wentz doesn’t see the field this year so hopefully McCown does go somewhere he can start.  Heck I didn’t think he was that bad last year and could probably beat out Griffin if given a fair shake.  Anyway, Ben has to hold down the fort here.

3.04    C.J. Anderson   DEN RB12 (11)
7.04    Ryan Mathews PHI RB31 (4)
11.04 Darren Sproles PHI RB47 (4)
15.04 Ronnie Hillman DEN RB60 (11)
16.13 Tim Hightower NOS RB66     (5)

Glad I kept passing on Gordon and took CJ.  He should be solid and Hillman resigning made him fairly cheap insurance/handcuff.  Should have DEN running game on lockdown one way or the other. Hoping to dodge some draft day bullets with the PHI backfield, like the Mathews/Sproles combo week to week if it stays status quo.  Lot could change here including both Mathews and Sproles not even being on PHI roster. Liked the way Hightower played last year, he was almost beastly for that stretch. NOS thought enough of it to bring him back.  He should spell Ingram on occasion and NOS probably have no concerns about him carrying the load if needed. Bye week wise is a little dicey week 4-11 but if I can survive those should be ok. This may be one of the worse groups of RB’s in this league, but if Mathews stays the lead dawg in PHI or becomes the lead dawg somewhere else I could be ok.  Hopefully Sproles still does some PPR damage.

2.13    Julian Edelman NEP WR19 (9)
5.04    DeVante Parker MIA WR33 (8)
8.13    Tavon Austin RAM WR47 (8)
9.04    Devin Funchess CAR WR49 (7)
10.13 Nelson Agholor PHI WR58 (4)
17.04 Chris Conley KCC WR82 (5)
20.13 Kenny Stills MIA WR101 (8)

On the surface this is a pretty motley looking crew.  Pretty much Edelman and a bunch of WR2-3’s on their respective teams.  Kinda hitching the wagon to some second year guys busting out and living up to the reasons they were drafted.  Guess kinda isn’t really the word.  I am needing second year guys Parker, Funchess, Agholor, and Conley, 4 of my 7 WR’s to take that next step.  I feel ok about hitting on 2 or 3 of those and combining that with Edelman and the underrated Austin. Hitting on a coupe here could make or break this whole team.  Parker becoming a top guy needs to happen.     Might need to take a look a back, but maybe I shouldn’t have ignored this position in rounds 11-16.

1.04    Rob Gronkowski NEP TE1 (9)
6.13    Julius Thomas JAC TE13 (5)

Should be solid here and as mentioned I couldn’t let Thomas basically make it to round 7 as TE13 in this format.  He missed 4 games last year and should easily finish in top 10. Will need this group to help out with points to cover my warts elsewhere.

12.13 Brandon McManus DEN PK6 (11)

This is the second league so far where I have gone solo at PK and I am warming to that idea moving forward.  McManus and the two DEN RB’s are my only week 11 bye players so I should have the rest of the crew available that week. I was targeting McManus as I feel DEN may be FG city this year. I’ll leave it at that.

13.04 Arizona Cardinals DST4 (9)
18.03 Detroit Lions DST28 (10)

Cool with this group.

Overall: It’s ugly…..nasty ugly….like yeah she may “technically” be a stripper nasty ugly…..Gronk/Thomas is her rockin tattooed body…..but then it ends.  Quite possibly one of my worst efforts as I have serious train wreck potential at QB, RB, WR, and PK. Wow….this was bad.   Good luck.  :banned:

Overall: I suspected going TE-TE at 3/4 while being down at the turn would put me behind the 8-ball at the remaining positions, and what do ya know, I was right ... opportunity cost can be a real #####. Don't have enough depth at either RB or WR, and my QBs have about equal odds of being a pleasant surprise or a massive trainwreck. Still a long way until training camp, but this squad has a "never in serious contention and goes out as soon as one of my top 4 guys misses a game" vibe to it.
:lmao:

Or, you know, two of your top 4 guys, who just happen to be the only two you have at that position in a 2PPR league.

Have fun booting me to the curb in Week 2, fellas.

Probably easier to just cut and paste the scoring table than to run through everything week by week ...

Don't look now fellas, but I'm getting a TE back into my lineup this week ... just sayin' ...

Week 5 -

Booted: As Sinrman feared, week 5 left him without a QB, and the rest of his group couldn't pull the weight as he gets the boot with 77 even.

Immunity: When your TE puts up 21.30 points and is only the 8th-highest scorer on your roster ... you might have had a pretty good week. In Reaper's case that meant the league high score for the season of 196.05 and a 2nd consecutive hall pass heading into week 6.

Five out of the 6 lowest-scoring teams have now been eliminated ... and my squad happens to be the 6th ... but I'm sure that holds no predictive value.
