Not to be confused with the best direction, best score, best lighting, best acting. Just your personal favorite.

Young Frankenstein, taking nothing away from Blazing Saddles. The rest of his stuff was septic tank squeezings that could have been done by a mildly special 7th grader.

LOL that the language filter substituted the politically correct euphemism "special" for my word of choice. I do remember some controversy or hurt feelings several years back over the other word, but I was not aware the filter substituted for it. It would not be my intent to reignite controversy as I truely don't want to distress anyone who is sensitive on the issue, but perhaps "challenged" would better capture the conotation without being offensive.

I like Blazing Saddles. I'd love to see that get remade? Wonder why they don't touch that one when almost every other thing from that era is being remade.

Because no one would go near that in this day and age of racial sensitivity.I voted Young Frankenstein, but I wouldn't vote against History of the World, Blazing Saddles, or Spaceballs.

"Damn your eyes!"

"Too late."

Exactly. Plus, I can't see anyone making it better. If you can't do it better, leave it alone.

This is the worst poll ever in the history of the FFA. May as well have one for best Pauly Shore movie next.

Lisa, Lisa - The One I Adore. While not technically a full-length film, it was a short film on MTV back in the day that was his best work.

Yeah, that'd be great. We'd have such classic lines as:

"All right, we'll give some land to the African Americans and the Asian Americans, but we don't want the Irish!"
What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is a-goin' on here? I hired you people to try to get a little track laid, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City homosexuals!
Sheriff Bart: Mornin', ma'am! And isn't it a lovely mornin'?

Old Woman: Up yours, African American!

Blazing Saddles is one of the 5 best comedies ever. Young Frankenstein is not far behind.

Nothing else on that list is even close.

Smoo - How can you not appreciate comedy like that?
By watching it.
What movie comedies do you like?

CaddyShack?

Clerks?

Birdcage?
Caddyshack is terrible. Clerks is some good writing. Birdcage was amusing.I don't watch a lot of comedies. A Fish Called Wanda would be close to the top of my list, though.

What's the big deal? Humor is different things for different people. Personally, I found A Fish Called Wanda to be mildly amusing and I'd rather watch a test pattern than the extremely overrated Clerks, but that's just me.

Smoo, as much as I like you and your posting(most of the time), you are clearly in the wrong here. Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles are some of the best comedy out there. btw, "Clerks is some good writing? has down?

smoo is not a movie watcher, that has been proven.

Big fan of history of the world.
I watch far fewer movies than most people, true, but that doesn't mean I don't understand what I find funny and what I don't find funny. In fairness, I've never seen Young Frankenstein. But I hated Blazing Saddles.

OK I can see it on some things but not CaddyShack; I do not care for the Family Guy which other people seem to love. But not liking CaddyShack is like unamerican.

Young Frankenstein over Blazing Saddles but the one I'd love to vote for is The Producers. "Springtime For Hitler".......f'ing genius.

What is there to hate about Blazing Saddles?"We waz told you were hung."

"And you heard right."

:lmao:

"One more move and the #####r gets it."

Classic.

 to Mel

 to Smoo (Chalk it up to Canadian disease)

Spaceballs = his worst. :loco:
 It may not have been his best movie, but it's got plenty of timeless quotes:

"We ain't found s--t!"

"Keep firing, ###holes!"

"They've gone to plaid!"

"I see your Schwartz is as big as mine."

"I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate!"

"Oh! That's gonna leave a mark."

"I'll bet she gives great helmet!"

"Listen! We're not just doing this for money... We're doing it for a S--T LOAD of money!"

Blazing Saddles in a landslide.

You couldn't possibly make that movie today. All of the tree huggers would be up in arms.

Add:"Go past this part, in fact, never play that part again."

"What's happening now, is happening now."

"Raspberry!"

"I never knew my ### was this big."

Not the tree huggers. The morality lovers maybe, but not the tree huggers. The christian majority more than likely, but not the tree huggers. The politically correct for sure, but not the tree huggers. The butt kissing conformist mo' diddly, but not the tree huggers.

Tree huggers love trees, birds, and clean rivers with fresh air. And they have no problem making fun of rich whitey, or beaners with bad #####r jokes, but they hate moral conformist who think people's feelings are the most important things in the world and all that matters is that the masses are happy.

Just to be clear on that point.

His standup special is just starting on HBO. Guy is a legend.
I saw this. Good stuff.

It's funny that this poll was bumped today. Out of the blue yesterday at work a discussion about his best movie started. I have a younger co-worker that had never heard of him. She now has an assignment to watch at least one movie this weekend and report back

Voted Blazing Saddles.

But would not begrudge anyone going with Young Frankenstein, History of the World I or Spaceballs.

Although not his best work, Robin Hood is fun and has been on a bit lately.

King jump Queen.

Pawn jump Queen.

Bishop jump Queen...

Gang bang!
