2015 Concerts Thread (1 Viewer)

The Tragically Hip playing Fully Completely in April in Kingston (their hometown). Yes, I realize how Canadian I sound.

We should do a big FBG festival meetup one of these years.

So far for me:

BlackBerry Smoke

Trigger Hippy

Chris Robinson

Moe

Taylor Swift

Blue Oyster Cult

Infamous Stringdusters in Jan in Falls Church, Va
These guys are great. Went both nights. They whipped out some interesting covers - In God's Country (U2) and Fearless from Floyd's Meddle :o
That's good to hear. I am seeing the Infamous Stringdusters next month at the Winter WonderGrass festival in Vail, CO. It should be a pretty epic festival experience, as there will be 16 different craft breweries serving beer to pair with Colorado's finest legal herbs. Plus, I am going to snowboard Vail or Beavercreek each morning before the festival.

Nice. I have a buddy out in CO headed to that festival. Those guys are talented.

Neutral Milk Hotel - sometime in April

Bonnaroo - June
Have you see this Tasker? The guys who run "Boots and Hearts" (country festival) are teaming with the group that puts on Bonaroo to put together a 3 day festival north of Toronto.

I went to grade school with Shannon who is interviewed there.
I actually had heard about it like a week or two ago. Waiting to see what gets announced....haven't been able to find many details yet. It'd certainly be a much easier drive from Buffalo....

Slipknot, Lamb of God, Bullet for my Valentine, Motionless in White at Deer Creek in Indy. I will just leave these here for EG...

Jul. 24 - West Palm Beach, Fla. @ Cruzan Amphitheater
Jul. 25 - Tampa, Fla. @ MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater

Tedeschi Trucks Band - 2/21 in Washington, DC (had to sell tickets to last year's show so excited to go)

Anders Osborne - 2/23 in Washington, DC (busy Sat & Mon combo)

Galactic w/ The Revivalists - 3/27 in Philadelphia

:hifive: Great list of shows

Diarrhea Planet and U2 so far . . . probably adding Colin Hay, Rush, and Faith No More to the list soon . . .

I'm going to a free Run the Jewels concert this Thursday in Denver. That should be pretty sweet. I can't believe that I will get to see what is widely regarded as the best rap album of 2014 for free.

In February, I have the Expendables, the Dirty Heads, Chali 2na, and the Winter Wondergrass Festival (Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, Sam Bush Band, Trout Steak Revival, et. al.).

I also just got tickets to Nas and SOJA at Red Rocks and the Disco Biscuits at Red Rocks over 4/20 weekend. It should be a pretty epic weekend.

Anyone seen Interpol live? They just announced two shows in Toronto. I like their first, second, and last year's albums, the others not so much. Seem like they would be good to see, but I think I remember hearing they were a stand there in their suits, no real presence band (10 years ago)

Pretty much what they were 4 years ago, too. They sounded great, though.

Mötley Crüe is playing what they are calling their last live concert in NYE in LA at the Staples Center. I scored some seats just for the nostalgia of it. I have seen them twice and they really put on an entertaining show.

Galactic will be in DC (9:30) April 3 & 4
BTW - Galactic is playing Jazzfest with Macy Gray at the end of April - so she may pop at these to get some ready for the NO shows.
Interesting. Is Corey Henry still touring with them? He is a badass on that trombone. Corey Glover of Living Colour fame, not a fan.

I'd typically just go to the DC show at the 9:30 Club but I became a Revivalists fan a little over a year ago by seeing a Galactic show on Youtube that was in Indianapolis and David Shaw (Revivalists singer) was the singer for the night, totally blew me away. The Revivalists and Galactic are only playing 2 shows together so my gf and I thought we'd make a short weekend trip out of it. Can't wait!

It is my understanding he is - also doing work with his Funktet - a very good band to catch in their own right

Run the Jewels was awesome last night. I highly recommend seeing Killer Mike and El-P live. Anyone going to the Jack White and Run the Jewels concert tonight at Madison Square Garden?

Taking my 16 year old daughter to Linkin Park in February. $30 per ticket in "service charges". WTF?
They can charge that for LP. One of the biggest musical acts in the world. But I apologize...LP has been straight garb since A Thousand Suns. They had one of the greatest debut albums ever in HT, which launched them into the 2nd best selling artist of the 2000s. Meteora was pretty good, then they tried changing their style. M2M had 2 or 3 good tracks. Bought A Thousand Suns the day it came out. Listened to it once, took Iridescent from it and threw it out. Haven't listened to them since.

Got drunk with my concert buddy last night and woke up to an email saying we bought two tickets for this show in Toronto!

Jon Gomm touring the US for the first time starting October. Don't care how far I have to drive I am going to see this guy live.

Waiting for specifics, but Slipknot, Linkin Park, Godsmack, Rise Against, Slash, Papa Roach, Halestorm, and Manson are tentatively scheduled for Rock on the Range mid May in Columbus. Hoping Saturday gets loaded up with Judas Priest, Breaking Benjamin, Volbeat, etc. stuffed onto Sunday. I'm guessing I'll miss one of Linkin Park or Slipknot no matter what, but if I can get most of the others (put Manson on Friday too) I'll be there.

It appears my daughter and I are the kiss of death when we get concert tickets. We had tickets to Green Day for an early 2013 show before Billie Joe went into rehab. I gave my daughter Linkin Park tickets for Christmas this year and they have now cancelled the show we were going to.

:kicksrock:
Any other ####ty bands we can derail? Kickstarter for WhatDoIKnow to buy concert tix.
