Dicaprio was better in the movie and he's probably taken on more serious roles across the board (not always successfully). Has Depp ever been really great in anything, except maybe Pirates which was more of a comic, cartoon character greatly aided by costuming?

Big man crush on DiCaprio. Of course, in my house, we call him DIcapsicle on account of how he ended up in Titanic.

This was an easy call here. I think Johnny Depp might be one of the most grossly overrated actors of all time.

Easily Leo. Depp just likes to take movies where he can dress in costumes and makeup and play a weirdo. He's likely drunk all through most of those movies being filmed.

Dicaprio has been in better movies but I think a lot of actors could have played his roles. Not many could pull off Edward Scissorhands

Dicaprio in that movie but Depp is the better actor. Maybe its just that i haven't seen that many Dicaprio movies.

You are missing out on many of the better movies of the last 15 years: Inception, Gangs of New York, The Departed, Wolf of Wall Street, the Aviator, Catch Me If You Can and Django Unchained were all great movies.

You are correct. Of that list i have seen Catch Me If You Can, Gangs of New York, and parts of The Aviator.
