FBG 2015 Mid-Atlantic Best Ball/Auction League - Looking for Owners (1 Viewer)

Seventh season successfully completed; let's round up folks for number 8. We've got a great venue in MD and we usually auction on a Sunday in late August. Trying to get to 16 teams. We use the Fat Box auction system. Best ball format so no need for weekly lineup decisions. WCOFF ppr scoring. Free agent bidding.

If the cost is in line with what was posted last year, I may be interested.
Cost is determined by number of teams in the league since the cost of hosting on MFL and using the FatBox for the live auction are divided equally. The more teams the lower the cost per team. As a result, we usually don't know the final cost per team until the day of the auction when we find out how many owners actually show up. However, the cost per team is generally in the $65 - $75 range. Then for another $15 - $20 you get food (usually 3 or 4 items to choose from like sliders, chicken fingers, etc.) and beer from the restaurant where we hold the auction.

How much is the actual league buy-in? I'm not familiar with a FatBox, but if the cost is in line with MFL league fees, this should be about $5 per team. It would be far easier if you were to just say $50 for the league, an equal portion of $125 for the league software, and an equal portion of $200 for the auction tool.

I understand the cost is variable, but it is proportional based on fixed prices.

Last season we had 12 teams and the league fee was $75 per team. Of the $900 collected, $50 covered the fee for MFL and $110 covered the fee for the FatBox and corresponding auction software. The remainder was paid out. We use a 60%, 30%, 10% distribution for the top 3 teams after the playoffs. If we had 14 teams the league fee might have only been $65, depending on what the owners decided.

Perfect, thanks! I didn't mean to sound like an #######, I was just trying to figure out what I'd be playing/paying for.

As long as the draft is not the 2nd weekend of August, I'm available and interested. You can PM me any further details.

Still have room for 3 - 5 more owners.

:blackdot:

I've often thought about this, but never been able to make it out. My August is already kind of messy schedule-wise -- may see when it is scheduled for and if can make it work.

Planning to draft on Sunday, Aug. 30th, if enough people can make it that day. Auction would start between noon and 12:30.

For anyone on the fence, let me tell me you that participating in the auction alone is worth the expense of the league and traveling an hour or so to Olney or Clarksburg. It's also very competitive, both in the auction and free agent pickups, especially when we get 14 or more teams. There is the opportunity to employ a wide variety of auction strategies.

Ok. I've got a draft in Philly the night of the 29th, so I'm probably out, as I'll probably be too hungover to drive back to DC in time for it.

Thanks for having me in the league. What is the link to the league site so I can follow up on the rules, etc... I am JK and would change my team name when possible. My e-mail is nflboz@gmail.com. BTW August 30th will be perfect for me.

Link to this season's site. We won't actually have owners sign in until we have finalized the teams for this season.

I'll add your e-mail address to our list so you receive future e-mail updates.

Glad to have you in the league.

We use FatBox system for the live auction. Each owner has their own controller connected to the FatBox to place their bids. Amount of auction money and roster size will be determined after we know how many teams are in the league. Let us know if you need more info.

Hi, guys. Let me know the best time and place to make the handoff of the equipment. I will be happy to meet someone halfway from Westminster but the weekend of Aug. 22-23 is shaping up to be a very difficult one for me and may require me to be out of town.

You'll also need to download the updated software and purchase the 2015 player files here.

It's a pretty simple process but I'll be happy to provide advice along the way. Hope you all have a great time at the auction.

Thanks roadkill, I think Paul is on vacation this week so hopefully he can get in touch with you when he gets back to arrange the hand-off with you. We will be in touch in the next week or so.

This is a day earlier than we have presently scheduled, but it looked too good to pass up, so I lobbied for this league to be the one. Any Sirius or XM subscriber can enter their league and advocate for his or hers to be chosen by the end of this coming weekend.

The setup work can be done without the hardware and I would encourage getting as much of that as possible out of the way pre-auction. But you guys probably already know that.

Time is running out to decide if you want to join this league. Please post here soon if you are interested so we can add you to our list for receiving e-mail updates with details about the draft.

This is Helmet Heads, and if you guys are still holding the draft next week - I would be interested in drafting and being a part of this league again this year. Let me know if you still have an opening...

my email these days is billweller.4@gmail.com if you want to contact me that way.

Thanks,

Bill

Hi Bill.

Definitely still have a spot open, glad to have you back. I'll add your new e-mail address to our list so you start getting the e-mail updates this week. We're definitely drafting next Sunday at noon at one of the GrillMarX locations. Just waiting to hear which location. We will be in touch.

Great to have Bill back, and I've forwarded Jim the e-mail of what looks to be our 14th owner, with a couple more on the fence last I heard.
