what are the chances bradley drafted that safety in jax to be his chancellor, pushing cyprien into coverage, or should we be expecting sergio brown or evans to start?
I think Bradley's point is that it's hard to find an elite centerfielder like Earl Thomas or Devin McCourty. I agree, but I see the point that Dix, Mathieu, Byrd and others are out there for the finding if you've got the draft or salary cap capital to spend.
Even the best laid plans -- e.g. Byrd/Vaccaro -- can blow up in your face when you think you've paid big bucks and spent high draft picks on an elite pair.
I think it's smart to consider tweaking your scheme and playbook for what's available to you. Not many do.
In Green Bay's case -- find as many capable or better coverage players as you can to guard against injury and difficulty rushing the passer. In Jacksonville's case, take the best players on your board and (hopefully) work to find a smart game plan.
Belichick has done it for years and is clearly re-inventing his depth chart again this year, too.
When Collins got hurt the Packers struggled for years with replacements. Last year they finally fixed that I think.
Capers often uses safeties as will linebackers so they like to have several, this year they are going for more ball hawks so that could be interesting.
Just stumbled upon another combined IDP fantasy draft board from Dynasty Football Warehouse to compare/contrast with Jene's.
Charts so can't cut-and-paste so go to the link. Includes a pre-draft big draft board, a post draft board like Jene's of where a player should be drafted and some post draft thoughts.
