Mr. Robot (1 Viewer)

I'm a few weeks behind - just watched the 4th episode - and have begun to think they are making the Byte Club hints so blatant that it now seems most likely there actually are two separate characters.

Yeah the ending was awesome.

So Mr Robot is either real and I was wrong or its evil side and that was actually Elliot confronting those people. I'm still not sure. Notice how nobody mentions Elliot when they are talking to Mr Robot.

Shayla was so hot. The blond isn't and always had that same pouty face.

Finally, what does fsociety need the Dark Army to do? I mustve missed that.
Evil Corp had some kind of facility in China, I believe, which they were going to hack into. All those backup tapes have now been sent over there after the failure of their little heist mission a month ago.

Thought the hopeful CTO was gonna toss her body over the edge to make it look like suicide.

They needed the dark army to simultaneously wipe out the copy of evil corps records in China so all copies were gone at same time.

Thanks

his last diatribe with the therapist was ridiculous. her facial reaction was perfect.

I think anybody who's not watching this show is missing out, especially if you have any kind of interest in technology.

Elliot who do you think I am? Um, my sister? It was almost as good as "Luke, I'm your father".
Yeah it was just amazing. Im gonna rewatch the entire series this weekend because Ive been telling my wife how awesome it is and she finally said shed watch it.

I love that fact that they rope a doped us with the Fight Club stuff, then dropped the hammer on us this week. Such. good. TV.

Yes, it's a tech centered show, but the final scene w/ the therapist put all the chips in the middle that it's a much more than that. Elliott's hack details were awesome awesome awesome.

I still think hes imaginary
He's either:

A. His dad.

B. It's the same person, but Mr. Robot is the original and Elliot is the alter-ego.
Elliott is a real person and Mr. Robot is his dad but he's not really crazy and being manipulated by Mr. Robot to do his hacking (and not for the reasons Elliott believes.

not sure why we are using these tags for speculation....The idea that the older guy is real and the younger guy is an illusion is something that occurred to me oin looking at the CD names -- Van Halen, The Beatles, Pink Floyd - seems more fitting for a guy Christian Slater's age....Ultimately it would be a little disappointing because Malek is killing it as the lead and Id like to see an elliot-angela hookup as viable without being creepy.

Maybe Shayla was really some 40 year old skank
I'd love to see where they are going with this....how sick is Elliot? Who are we? He keeps talking to us.

Joanna Wellick - what a woman

what a show-- the mysteries ae fascinating -- I hope all of the reveals are worthy of the ride.

Did Darlene ever meet Angela before this episode on the show?
Don't believe so.
yeah me neither. That right there shouldve stood out yet I didnt blink an eye.
I just sort of assumed that in the time he was "missing" they might have met. You know, both people looking for him. Of course, now we know why they know each other. The fact that they call him Elliot doesn't really mean much to me either, because everyone says Evil Corp and he already explained that.

I just think Christian Slater was his father and he really did die and now Elliott is envisioning Mr Robot as his father only he didnt realize thats what his father looked like until this last episode.

And enough with the spoiler crap unless it really is a spoiler.

Ok, so the scene where Christian Slater meets with Evil Corp IT psycho guy. Was that supposed to be Elliott meeting with him?

OR in the ultimate twist, is Elliott also the Evil Corp IT psycho guy and was talking to his dad in his head in that scene.

I don't know what to believe anymore.

I thought the basis of the show was that Elliott's father and Angela's mother both worked for E Corp in the early 1990s, when the decision was made to dump that toxic waste (or whatever it was that Angela confronted the old CTO about) that led to Elliott's father and Angela's mother getting cancer. That was how Elliott and Angela met and knew each other. That's also the basis for why Elliott and his sister, Darlene, decided to bring down E Corp, as revenge for what they believe was the death of their father. (In Elliott's flashbacks, it seemed his mother was no prize, so either she's dead too or they're estranged, or something else we don't know yet.) Angela is also trying to avenge her mother's death, but in her own way. Elliott must have had some sort of psychotic break, which is why he was seeing the therapist, but he stopped taking his meds. That could have coincided with his first seeing Mr Robot, whom he failed to recognize as his father because he's not all there (since he obviously viewed Darlene as some girl he just met). Darlene keeps referring to Elliott as the key to everything, so he must have set everything up and doesn't remember.

Other people have clearly interacted with Christian Slater's character, so he exists, but I think it's just Elliott they're interacting with. I also think Tyrell ends up working with F Society in some way, since he's clearly on his way to hating E Corp as well, and we saw that he's still in contact with Mr Robot.

man, this show is awesome. what's really going on is anyone's guess, but the fact that they keep hitting us with these twists that nobody saw coming is pretty impressive.

If Elliott is actually Slater then Slater's conversation with Tyrell wouldn't make any sense (from what I remember).

The most difficult thing to believe about the show is that Darlene (Elliot's sister) is a ballet dancer and apparently BFF with Angela.

I rarely rewatch anything, but this will be a good one to rewatch when the season is over.

Yeah I just rewatched episode one and picked up on a lot of cool things.

For example, first time he sees Darlene he asks her where her boss is and she blows him off like hes crazy and calls him a ####.

More of that kind of stuff here, unless you want to avoid it so you can spot things on your own rewatch.

Didn't Slater's conversation with Tyrell in the car refer to some previous deal or understanding? Could it be a reference to when Tyrell tried to hire Elliott or when they had lunch together at the storage site? I can't remember what they talked about.

While watching the ballet scene, I couldn't remember if Darlene and Angela had ever met. But in the context of Darlene being Elliott's sister, and the implication that Elliott and Angela became close while their respective parents had cancer, it makes sense that Angela and Darlene would also probably have been somewhat close as well.

In episode 2 he looks at the same picture and his father isn't in it. Sorry if you guys don't want me to say this stuff I'll stop.

Two scenes I'm looking to see resolution to:

Elliot's confession to his therapist...how will that play out

Gideon's confrontation with Elliot and how he suspects Elliot....is Elliot fired?

Last time I recommended a show that instantly turned people on like this was BB. Men and women.

I just want season 1 to end the way it has been all season. Hard to string a show like this out. If they can accomplish 10 episodes like this i'll be thoroughly impressed. No matter what happens going forward. Terrific.

I'm working on a crazy theory that Mr Robot is Eliot's mom. Eliot projects his dad's image over instead since he hates her. She's motivated entirely by revenge.

I'm just wondering if they'll throw some crazy sci fi twist into this like Elliot is the product of some e corp experiment...maybe a clone or robot or maybe he just had his whole brain reprogrammed....

Rewatched the dream sequence and noted a couple of things

- fsociety video referenced lost or stolen memories

- elliot encounters Darlene as a child

"Hello friend

"I'm not your friend

Sees 404 sign "can you tell me what happened to this house?

" first can you tell me what your monster is

-Angela and Elliot engagement sequence: ring doesn't fit "you're not Elliot, you're the ----"

It's starting to feel like evil corp did some brainwashing on Elliot - reprogrammed his brain and somehow fsociety is key to helping him find all of his repressed self....

Just came across on Twitter that tonight's final episode is being delayed a week due to a graphic scene "similar in nature" to the shooting in Virginia.
