They have had 2-Pac & Nate Dogg resurrected as holograms over the past several years. They looked pretty gimmicky with the current technology, but I would expect the tech to continue to improve. If they could get the hologram technology much better I think it would be cool to see older bands / artist in their prime.

With the Rolling Stones doing another tour & the GD playing this weekend with the remaining members, it had me wondering. Would you rather see these guys as a holograms in their prime, or the real thing no matter how old / who's dead?

Until hologram technology approaches that of the holodeck on the Enterprise, give me the real thing.

Mick and the boys do a damn fine job of putting on a great show. Probably the best concert I have been to.

I see it much more of a permanent install type of show. Think Cirque or Blue Man. Imagine a theatre set up, and a different concert every night. Beatles, Queen, Michael Jackson, Elvis. Complete surround, so it looks, feels, and sounds like there are 50,000 other people around you, yet you are sitting in a comfy chair with a drink in your hand.

What I've been reading about hologram technology using acoustic waves leads me to believe we're only a decade away from this taking off.

If they could give me a full Pac/Biggie/Eazy-E concert I'd pay an inappropriately high amount for that experience.

I don't wanna hear dudes way past their vocal primes trying to belt out cracked notes.

I think it'd have to be a little more than a holographic concert for one band/singer....but it definitely has the potential to be cool. And the potential to be mocked out by the trolling elite.
