Chandler Jones or Lavonte David? (1 Viewer)

Big play scoring system (8 pts per sack, 1 pt per tackle, 0.5 pts per assist, 7 pts per INT, 2 pts per PD). Start 2 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB, 1 FLEX (DL/LB/DB). Total cap space is $250

  • Chandler Jones is DE eligible and has a cap hit of $17. Last year averaged 10.1 ppg
  • David has a cap hit of $25. Last year averaged 9.8 ppg.
Current DL: Dunlap, Mario Williams (retains DE eligibility), Chandler Jones

Current LB: Houston, Kiko Alonzo, Ogletree

I think I can move Alonzo or Ogletree to upgrade depth at DL if I acquire David in the deal. Even if I can't upgrade the trade would give me starters of the following:

DL: Dunlap, Williams

LB: Houston, David, & Alonzo or Ogletree.

Which side do you want?

I'd keep Chandler. My logic being that there will be more good LB options available on the waiver wire than there will be DL options. And Chandler is an upper-tier DL. Just my 2 cents.

Well, the guy backed out of the deal. I had the secondary deal in play (Ogletree for Wilkerson) and then the other owner decided he liked David too much even though he has very little on the DL and a nice stable of LB's. Hopefully you are correct and it turns out Jones finishes top 5 DL.

I will stand pat with Jones, Dunlap, Mario Williams on DL and Houston, Kiko, and Ogletree at LB. I think I will be fine.

Now there has been another turn of events. Now the proposed deal as it sits is the following:

Chandler Jones ($17)

Kiko Alonzo ($5)

Ogletree ($5)

2015 3rd round pick

for

Muhammed Wilkerson ($5 through 2016)

Lavonte David ($25)

Brandon Graham ($10)

Keep in mind this is a big play scoring league (8 pts per sack; 1 pt per tackle). For perspective, Justin Houston was the highest scoring LB last year.

I am leaning towards the David side of the deal for the upsdie of Graham in this scoring system and the consistency you know David will provide. Plus Wilkerson under contract for two years is nice where Jones will escalate after this season.

I have some reservations regarding Kiko with the crowded ILB situation in Philly. The bottom line would you rather have the following (Start 2 DL/2LB/2DB/1Flex (DL/LB/DB)):

DL: Jones, Dunlap, Mario Williams (still eligible at DL)

LB: Houston, Kiko, Ogletree

or

DL: Dunlap, Mario, Wilkerson

LB: Houston, David, Graham

Let me know what side you are on. Thanks.

I pulled the trigger and talked him down to a 4th round pick. I hope Graham is the beast he has shown in brief stints.....
