"Daydream Believer" has got to up there close to perfection

You can't write a better chorus. More Carole King

I must have missed Imagine, because someone had to have mentioned it.

How many hundreds of times have I heard that song, and it still stops me in my tracks every time I hear it.

Two that came up listening to music today.

Wild Horses - I like The Sundays cover.

You Can Call Me Al - Paul Simon. I love the bass line in the song, the video is really well done (not something that comes up anymore :( ) And Paul Simon just knows how to write a great song.

Rocket Man

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

More Than a Feeling

Born to Run

Every Breath You Take

With or Without You

Dancing Queen

Midnight Train to Georgia

Everlong

How Deep is Your Love

I suppose a perfect song for me would be one I never tire of:

The Last Resort (Live version)

Turn The page

Comfortably Numb

Into The Mystic (Colin James version)

Under Pressure

Rise Above This

I'd add Procol Harum's "Whiter Shade Of Pale". So great and unique - there's no other song even remotely like it.

Actually I prefer 'Watching the Wheels'.

Haven't read through the entire thread, but by "perfect" I would define it as a song that couldn't be improved by virtue of production, musicianship, or artistry.

Agreed. That's why I think "Wichita Lineman" applies. Written by Jimmy Webb, sung by Glen Campbell, back up musicians were his Wrecking Crew cohorts.

Always brings a smile to my face when I hear that song on the radio. Great melody.

Just saw this thread today, there are some good ones mentioned.

I am curious though, are the people posting youtube links without naming the song the same people that complain about clickbait story captions on the internet?

"Would?" - Alice in Chains

"Echoes" - Floyd

"Ten Years Gone" - Zeppelin

Forget it, I could name 100 if I keep thinking about it.
