Perfect Songs - List Here (1 Viewer)

Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown - Jim Croce - You could probably pick any one of a number of his songs...

ETA:

Peter Gabriel

Biko - Perfect song for closing a set. Having each of the musicians leave the stage one by one, with the drummer playing that beat. Now looking back on it, it was perfect for this show. Does anyone else remember writing the postcards for Amnesty International back in the mid-80s?

No idea if it's perfect, but I always thought Suite Judy Blue Eyes was pretty close to perfect with the harmony from those three guys

For an R&B song:

I Need Your Loving

by Don Gardner and Dee Dee Ford

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkoRe59UuMc

This is the extended version of their top 20 1962 hit (which I don't know even existed until a few years ago). What became the edited hit version starts roughly about the 2:25-2:30 mark and with Gardner's almost demented "Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa" vocals coming in at about 2:50 (in a call-and-response with Dee Dee Ford).

Perhaps a good definition of perfect is that it couldn't be improved upon. In that case, I would submit this song:

Another thought on 'perfect' might be the song's ability to be appreciated by many people, not just fans of the performer and the genre of music. This one might fit...

Marvin Gaye - "Let's Get It On"

If that's the case I select ... Feliz Navidad

Raining Blood

Trapped in purgatory

A lifeless object, alive

Awaiting reprisal

Death will be their acquittence

The sky is turning red

Return to power draws near

Fall into me, the sky's crimson tears

Abolish the rules made of stone

Pierced from below, souls of my treacherous past

Betrayed by many, now ornaments dripping above

Awaiting the hour of reprisal

Your time slips away

Raining blood

From a lacerated sky

Bleeding its horror

Creating my structure

Now I shall reign in blood!

I prefer Angel of Death for perfect song though.

To me, Bohemian Rhapsody is the definition of this.

Classic, universally known and loved, can't be improved upon, sung by one of the greatest voices of all time.

Well the whole thing is about 27 minutes, give or take, of perfection.

Indeed

Bohemian Rhapsody and Good Vibrations were the first two songs that came to mind. I also love the Waterloo Sunset submission. A bit lesser known song that I'll throw in is Music When The Lights Go Out by The Libertines. Although not as welcomed by die hard Grateful Dead fans, I think Touch Of Grey is pretty fantastic. OMD's If You Leave also comes to mind. I could go on but it's late as hell.
