Haven't been following closely, but I'm a little surprised to see Deon Long cut in TEN.
Knew that was coming. The Titans won't admit to having a tall WR spot and a short one but they sure play that way and line up that way. Turzilli had been better than McBride if we're going overall, but really one was short one tall. Turzilli has been the A-student, nice work ethic, type. In ways, he beat out DGB. In sheer talent and potential, he's not close. (Please don't overreact) Just one guy studied the playbook the other didn't...things like that. Turzilli has been totally in the mix til he got a high ankle sprain. Long was a typical UDFA way down the depth chart, scrounging for playing time. He had little chance of sticking.

Deon Long will find a home. His high school or college coach coached many famous athletes and called him the best ever or most talented or somesuch. That caught everyone's attention. Then it was that BB was very intrigued by him. His running buddy is doing real well in Minnesota. This is too much for GMs and coach's egos to not say "hey come for a tryout and stay a week."

I don't know if he beats anyone out or is just cut a week later. By all accounts he's an exceptional athlete so ya gotta figure he'd be fine on any team's practice squad as a project.

I think first step is to hear where his head is at. This is a kick in the...and he needs to respond favorably.

TJ Graham played WR for the Bills with 20-30 catches for a couple years, then went to the Jets and barely played.

Jeff Tuel has a smidge of playing experience

CB Tim Jennings is probably the intriguing cut here. He started in preseason and has been a starter for the Bears and Colts. He made the pro bowl a couple times, but he's 31 and just got outplayed in camp.

Supposedly the Titans are looking for RB, G, and OLB depth although I doubt the latter happens as they have two young ones they love. I think it's just writers can't believe in two UDFAs.

Giants have had such a slew of injuries and signings at Safety, I would figure they're interested in a decent safety if one should pop up.

I still think the right WR could land on the Browns.

What other needs have teams mentioned or do you figure are obvious to be addressed?

The #Bills have released RB Fred Jackson as part of their roster cut to 75, according to an #NFL source.
shocked
I can see teams like Cleveland, New England, Jets, Baltimore and probably a few other teams taking him on. He won't be out of work for long
does he have to go through waivers or is he free to sign with any team?
Vested veteran, he is free to sign with any team.,

Some good reporters disagreeing on twitter if Kevin Norwood Seahawks has been cut, will wait for official word

Broncos-The team also announced sixth-year offensive tackle Chris Clark was traded to the Houston Texans for a seventh-round pick in the 2016 draft. Clark must pass a physical before the trade can go through.

The team waived cornerback Tevrin Brandon, guard Andre Davis, tight end/fullback Joe Don Duncan, quarterback Zac Dysert, punter Spencer Lanning, safety Ross Madison, tight end Jake Murphy, running back Jeremy Stewart and outside linebacker Chase Vaughn.

Inside linebacker Reggie Walker was released and third-round pick Jeff Heuerman was placed on injured reserve.

Yeah Many teams are going from 88-90 down to near 78-80, then they'll trickle in a few more cuts over the next 24 hours. Some just rip the bandaid off at 75, but most must be having last minute discussions.

I have never understood this but it's common. Since Saturday teams have to be at 53, you can guarantee no one discussed as a possible 75er will make that cut.

If there's a sentiment there, just do it. Let the guy try out elsewhere

Nothing official yet from secretive patriots nation, but...

Reportedly, New England has already released at least one player today: rookie tight end Jimmay Mundine. Several other players were not on the field at this morning’s walkthrough practice, and while many were absent for health reasons, it’s fair to assume that some of them had been cut as well.

In addition to Mundine, four other players were not seen on the practice field Monday: wide receiver josh Boyce, rookie WR Jonathan Krause (who sustained an injury against Carolina), linebacker Dekoda Watson, and defensive lineman Joe Vellano.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Panthers have acquired wide receiver Kevin Norwood in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for an undisclosed 2017 draft choice.

Carolina has been searching for answers at wide receiver ever since Kelvin Benjamin went down with a season-ending injury.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Norwood was a fourth-round draft choice by the Seahawks in 2014. He played nine games with two starts as a rookie, catching nine passes for 102 yards.

Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman said in a press release Monday that Norwood "has the size you look for along with toughness and smarts."

Gettleman said the Panthers had studied Norwood leading up to last year's draft.

Lions-Activated DT Haloti Ngata from the reserve/non-football injury list and RB Joique Bell from the PUP list. Released TE Deon Butler, WR Ryan Broyles, QB Garret Gilbert, WR Vernon Johnson, RB Desmond Martin, DT Roy Philon, CB Jocquel Skinner, CB R.J. Stanford and DE Erik Williams. Placed CB Chris Owens on injured reserve.
