**Official** 2015 Washington Redskins Thread YOU LIKE THAT! (2 Viewers)

Step 1: Beat Miami

Who's with me?
Let's do it.

Funny, the Redskins fan base has gone from predicting a Super Bowl every year to predicting 3-4 win seasons every year.

I kind of like the idea of just watching the games one at a time and rooting for them to win each time they go out. :-)

:football:

Yeah, I can't wait to be relevant again and be a contender, but for now I'm going to try and enjoy this season for what it is. No expectations. If we lose, we lose. This is just Scot Year One. I'm a comic book fan. Origin stories are never clean and happy. Scot's won't be either, but growth has to come from somewhere. In the comic book world generally that somewhere is tragedy. It's still a fun read though because you know it is temporary.

Miami is everyone's favorite sleeper team. They have a young QB everyone is pulling for (weird, isn't it?). They signed the top FA defensive linemen in a long time (how does that generally work out?). They added some weapons on offense. They are the easy pick to be a surprise, which makes them not really a surprise anymore doesn't it? Well here's the thing, these teams generally don't live up to their new expectations( See: Lions, Detroit). Especially early in the season. Playing them week 1 is our best shot at them.

Miami key to victory: That they are reading their own headlines and come in over confident.

This is the NFL. Anything can happen on Sunday. It's a cliche, but it is true. If Miami starts out slow they might start to question why everyone is touting them as this up and coming team. We come out there and punch them in the mouth, we can take this thing.

One of the few home games I'll miss this year.

I predict they sack us 7 times.

Going to be a long season.

Hopefully Scotch can keep his focus on picking players for 2 more years, then we could contend IMO. The bj story has me worried about our best hope right now. #sinningoffthefieldhttr

lol 25 years of garbage teams almost every year will do that........

Predicting I'll turn the game off before halftime. This team could luck box a few more games than they should but on paper they're a 2 win team.

Now that's funny right there. I just spit out soda all over my keyboard.

If the Dolphins do underacheive, and I think that is a good possibility, I don't think it will be a coincidence that Suh will have been on both teams. Some players put up good numbers but don't impact the game as much as people give them credit for. For Suh, that partly has to do with the position he plays. He can only have so much affect as a defensive tackle.

I think that is why going after Suh with a high price tag does not give you nearly the bang for your buck that other Free Agents might.

4 months of misery, coming up!
It's only misery if you let it make you miserable. Try to enjoy it as you would a greek tragedy.
As a mostly-neutral observer, I truly enjoy the freak outs that the short-suffering Redskins fans exhibit during radio call-in shows.

Come talk to me after two generations of being a league-wide ####show, and then we'll commiserate.

Acceptance can be relieving. We are basically a mid major at the moment. A successful season will be pulling off some upsets. Especially against rivals. Division wins are where all our energy should go.

In response to the Redskin Fantasy question in the previous thread:

If Matt Jones runs like he did in the preseason, I see him eating into Morris' carries and possibly being the short yardage back.

Last year, I owned Morris, and it was clear to me that Gruden was pretty quick to move away from Morris. He was frequently throwing the ball even in close games. And of course, many games did get out of hand, which reduced the carries. He also showed he wanted to get other backs into the game.

I would not be surprised is the split is 50-50 by the middle of the season, with some Thomspon sprinkled in.

I don't see Garcon having much fantasy value. It just looks like the offense is designed to the passes go to Jackson's position. In the preseason, Grant got all the catches, filling in for Jackson. And with the scrubs, Ross got a lot of catches. I presume he was in Jackson's position, but I don't know for sure.

Zero expectations this season. If we win more than 4, I think that will be a successful season.

I've never been so disinterested in a Redskins season before.

Hail!

I'm predicting 5-11, but a successful and hopeful 5-11!

haven't seen any true predictions by most of us yet?

This.

...and after Penn State lost the opener to Temple, I'm seriously not sure how much football I'll be watching this year. It'll be a toss-up to see which of my crappy teams wins more games...The Skins are a relatively worse team, but they get spotted a few extra games.

We're paddling the same canoe, Nick...but football is so ingrained into my very being that there's no way I couldn't watch it. It's just me, but I'd watch Pop Warner if that's all that was on.

...and unlike most of you appear to be, I'm as optimistic as I've been in recent years. I'm happy Griffin is on the bench, I cut ties with him a while ago, and now that the compensation is off the book, that doesn't affect me either. We have the guy I want to see under center, and I'm eager to see how he does. I don't expect much from this particular iteration of the Redskins, no matter which of the QB's on the roster are playing. 8-8 was and will be the high-water mark I hold this Team to for 2015.

I'm eager to see Gruden run his offense with a more prototypical QB, rather than a broken athlete masquerading as one.

I can agree with that, well said. Still think we are in for a long season.

I made a reference to this in an earlier post.

With Griffin at QB, I thought the Redskins might be 3-13.

With Cousins, I predict 6-10.

A whole 3 game swing for putting Cousins in at QB.

Hey we're building a winning attitude. That what's going to turn this franchise around not a franchise QB.

Who do we have worse luck with, QBs or coaches?
The disfunction starts at the top and he's going to be with us for probably another 30+ years. I personally have very little hope. In my mind the franchise is so disfunctional the only thing that saves it is an elite QB. I hope I'm wrong.

Predictions ???? I'm increasing my number to 8-8.

Wins: STL, NYJ, NYG, TB, NO, NYG, CHI, BUF

Losses: MIA, NYG, PHI, CAR, NE, DAL, PHI, DAL

One of your Giant wins should be ATL or your Giant loss should be ATL. The Redskins don't get to play the Giants 3 times.

I don't think they sweep the Giants, I think they lose one of Buf, St.L. 6-10.

BTW I think the Redskins finish 3rd (Giants 5-11)

I honestly don't see how we win more than 6 games and that is being optimistic.

Division wise, we may luck into 1 or 2 wins.

The other 10, I don't see where we get many wins. Patriots is a guaranteed loss. We can't seem to beat the Rams lately. Dolphins, Bills, Jets, and Panthers will all be tough games. Falcons and Saints are toss ups at best. That leaves the Bears and the Bucs. Maybe we win both or one of these.

I'm usually the most optimistic of Redskins fans, but this year, I just don't see much to get excited about.

I think your swing is in the wrong direction. They had a shot to be 4-12 with Griffin. They'll be lucky to get to 2-14 with Cousins.

I also predict 4 different starting QBs this season, beginning with Week 3 (unless there's an injury sooner).

We will see.

If Griffin was still the starter, I would be predicting the QB carousel to continue.

I am more optimistic with Cousins.

I have a question...

Why are some of you more optimistic with Cousins? Sure, he's had some nice stretches, but what have you seen that makes you think he can add 3 wins to this team by himself?

I'm saving my predictions for one week at a time. Not going to look further ahead than that. This week: Miami comes out as flat as we do. Game gets ugly. We make one more play than them. Skins win 13-10

I'll play.

Miami yard stomps us. Cousins goes out with a concussion after getting him on 7 of his first 10 drop backs. Colt comes in and throws a pick 6 while dislocating his shoulder. We finish the game out with no QB, just runs.

Both of you are being unrealistic.

Miami 38-10, with a pair of return TDs. Cousins plays the entire game, but goes 18-47 with 3 INTs.

You have enough problems. Special Teams better not be that bad too.

Griffin has looked horrid. Sorry for your fantasy team but he's not a quality NFL QB.

lots of negativity below realtive to predictions! consequently, i'm upping my win total prediction to 7-9! tough hard losses, but character building is coming this yr. we will be in most games this season and generally, play hard.

hail!
