RIP David Bowie (1 Viewer)

Oh, no. How very sad.

"I watch the ripples change their size

But never leave the stream

Of warm impermanence and

So the days float through my eyes

But still the days seem the same . . .

Time may change me

But I can't trace time"

 RIP.

Damn . I loved Bowie. My alltime favorite . Growing up in the 70s in JR HS if you liked Bowie you almost had to keep it a secret . I remember being called a for being a fan.. Glad my older cousins turned me on to him

RIP

No idea he was sick, either.

Multi-talented, also an actor, great in the Roeg movie The Man Who Fell To Earth, as well as the Merry Christmas one as a Japanese POW. So many great songs. Station To Station. Golden Years. Fame. The Five Years doc is highly recommended. I liked that he was a chameleon and constantly changing his sound. Making an album like Low that sounded absolutely NOTHING like what preceded it took courage and was an act of artistic integrity.

Damn. Just read a featured article about him in Rolling Stone. All about his new album. Never mentioned that he was sick.

I'm glad he had so many masterpieces to share with us and am happy he left us with one last allbum on his way out. His body of work will live a long, long time.

Wow - was shocked to hear this just a few days after his album was released. He must have gone through painstaking lengths over the last 18 months to keep his illness quiet.

RIP to one of the true giants in rock/pop history. Such a loss for the music community.

In some ways, a parallel to Jim Brown and Barry Sanders when he somewhat quit at the height of his powers in the 80s when he stopped playing most/all of the music that had propelled him to the top.

He will be missed is missed...

Well said. Another depressing loss. They seem to piling up these days.
