Colony - TV Show (1 Viewer)

Watched a BTS show last week or so. Looks interesting. The pilot plays on Thursday nite @ 10 on USA.

I'm curious how quickly the wall was built. If it wasn't somehow instantaneous, how could people be trapped?

From USA Network site. (Trailer)

From executive producers Carlton Cuse (“Lost”) and Ryan Condal (“Hercules”) comes USA’s newest, highly-anticipated drama COLONY. Set in the very near future, COLONY centers on one family’s struggle to survive and bring liberty back to the people of an occupied Los Angeles. SAG winner Josh Holloway (“Lost”) stars as former FBI agent Will Bowman and Satellite Award winner Sarah Wayne Callies (“The Walking Dead”) stars as his wife, Katie, in the series which takes place in a dangerous world of divided ideologies. While some choose to collaborate with the occupation and benefit from the new order, others rebel and suffer the consequences. After being separated from their son during the invasion, Will and Katie are willing to do whatever is necessary to be reunited with him. Thus, when the powerful Proxy Snyder (Peter Jacobson, “House”) offers Will a chance to get his son back if he will collaborate with the occupational government, Will and Katie find themselves faced with the toughest decision of their lives. They will have to go beyond whatever they thought possible, risking their lives and their relationship to protect their family.

COLONY is a co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions. Nelson McCormick (“24”) also executive produces. The pilot was directed and executive-produced by Academy Award winning director Juan Campanella.

Ask a generation of East Berliners

Episode 1 is on demand already.

Anyone watch this yet? Thoughts?
I have that set to tape.
Still using VHS huh?
:lmao:
Yup, got the VCR we bought to record the last episode of M*A*S*H all set.

Doesn't everyone still use that term? It's like CCing someone. I'm sure you don't whip out your carbon paper to make a copy of something! (ETA: Hard to do that with an email! ;) )

You arent alone Ected, but I have moved onto using the term "recording" as opposed to "taping".
I've even taken it one step further. DVR is now a verb. I dvr'd the showed. Sometimes still say record, but I think I say dvr'd it more.

I've watched first 3 episodes, not sure if I'm in. Lori is already bugging me.

I've already got some theories, but we've got to see the "outside" world, which they started to show with that department of water scene with the son and his girlfriend. I think the people in the green zone/leaders aren't really as in on what is going on as they think.

Not a spoiler if you watched episode 4.

It sucks that his boss is gone. She seemed to be pretty on the level in that she didn't want to send good people away (not giving up his kid for the tapes) and she understands that the resistance really isn't doing the common people good. We saw that with the drones. If the aliens (that's what I'll call them, might not be, but so far advanced since they have those AI drones and some sort of sky ship or whatever that light show was) wanted, those drones could wipe out the resistance/common people in minutes. I think she understood that the resistance isn't really helping.
That said, I am wondering if this is some sort of experiment and that the aliens, via someone in the green zone, are feeding the resistance what they want them to do. The head guy talking about communication via a layer and the fact that he is just a 100% lackey makes me think that the aliens are controlling everything in LA and likely other sections.

All in all, looks like a solid new show.

I watched the first and then "recorded" the next couple of episodes - waiting on reviews as I was on the fence after episode one. Guess I'll take a look now.

I'd watch it. If you are into sci-fi/fantasy type shows where you have to a little thinking, you'd like it. Hopefully, it continues to get better. I am sure there is going to be some dumb moments, alah Lori in TWD, but I'm definitely interested to know what the heck is actually going on.

I posted in the misc tv show thread. Didn't know if this would make it in its own. I binge watched the first three and like it so far. Full of moral delema. I can see it turning into the same story with a different theme each week though and I hope they figure out how to keep it fresh. I'm in for now.

I hope the alien buildup is worth it. I am in so far, but we need some glimpse of who is running the show.
This is one of those tough parts of any show like this. They have to drag their feet a bit. If they show us, the show is almost kind of over, maybe they start a second arc about how people move forward trying to "defeat" it. I like it so far, so I am willing to deal with a bit of "Lori" if they keep it moving, which so far they have.

Not a good sign that this thread has gone dead for an entire month while the season has been ongoing.  Anyone still in?

So slow...  Everything that has happened could have been done in 2 episodes.

I think we're three in... Gotten better this season. A bad wig on the kid, but entertaining so far. Loved what happened with the partner on the the wall...

it's Lori that's mowing all the lawns

Bagged this show after Season 1.  Moves too slow.  Too many storylines disappear with no answer.  Callies is a terrible actress.  At first she always seems intriguing, but her character doesn't deepen in anything she is in (Into the Storm, Colony, etc.).  There's never a memorable moment.

I'm still in it.

was trying to figure out how they'd get out of dodge while watching this last episode... some pretty convenient TWD style writing there.

but now that they're essentially on the lam- still interested to see what that means and how it relates to the invasion and humanity trending towards extinction. also- what was with the red-hand people and the terrorism (seemed awfully hard to be making the connection with current world events).
