"Peyton Manning’s squeaky-clean image was built on lies, as detailed in explosive court documents showing ugly smear campaign against his alleged sex assault victim" http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/king-peyton-manning-squeaky-clean-image-built-lies-article-1.2530395

I had heard something about the incident in college, but had no idea how reprehensibly he and his family behaved; yikes.

Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he is NFL royalty, loved, propped up and protected by espn & the nfl.

In truth, behind the espn\nfl curtain he is a real ahole in "real" life.

Matt Kelley also has some pretty enlightening things to say about Manning in the latest Rotounderworld podcast (around 25min mark).

Inflammatory headline attacking Peyton Manning.

Checks initial poster...

Sure enough, NE fan.

These threads might gain some actual credibility if the Patriot fanbase could just wait long enough for a Houston or Kansas City fan to make the first post...

Ftr, the topic name was taken from the headline published in the Patriot loving NYDailyNews this morning.

Trainer has backers in suit against Mannings

By Mel Antonen, USA TODAY
.....
"Naughright and her lawyer provided a different version of events. In a court filing, her lawyer wrote that she was examining Manning to see why Manning was having pain in one of his feet and was crouched behind him when "entirely unprovoked, Peyton Manning decided to pull down his shorts and sit on Dr. Naughright's head and face."

As Naughright described it in a deposition entered into the court record: "It was the gluteus maximus, the rectum, the #### and the area in between the ####. And all that was on my face when I pushed him up. ... To get leverage, I took my head out to push him up and off."

The court record includes a letter to Manning from former Tennessee cross country runner Malcolm Saxon, who Manning said was the intended target of the mooning. Written in December 2002, the letter reads, in part: "Bro, you have tons of class, but you have shown no mercy or grace to this lady who was on her knees seeing if you had a stress fracture. ...

"She was minding her own business when your book came out. Peyton, the way I see it, at this point, you are going to take a hit either way, if you settle out of court or if it goes to court. You might as well maintain some dignity and admit to what happened. ... Your celebrity doesn't mean you can treat folks that way. ... Do the right thing here."

.....

.....

"Manning wrote in his book that he thought Naughright had a "vulgar mouth." In a deposition entered into the court record, Manning said he could relate one incident when he remembered an exact time and place that Naughright spoke words that were "vulgar." While four Tennessee athletes were on a trip to Charlottesville, Va., for a conference on drug education, he said Naughright asked him to accompany the athletes, whom she called "mother(expletive)."

None of the athletes on the trip supported Manning's story, according to court filings by Naughright's lawyer. In an affidavit, Geno Devane, now a medical student in Miami, said that at no time during the weekend did he hear those words. "I can assure you that I would remember," he said. "I would have been very upset if that had occurred. That type of language would have been completely out of character because she was always very professional around me and other student-athletes."

Unrelated, but couldn't help but notice the other article on the same page of the USA Today from 9 years ago and marvel at how some things never seem to change. Man the 70's right on thru the 2000's the Steelers sure do love their roids.

Steelers say no evidence doctor gave hormones
Updated 3/1/2007 12:29 AM

By Skip Wood, USA TODAY
Both the NFL and the Pittsburgh Steelers were mostly tight-lipped Wednesday regarding the revelation a member of the Steelers medical staff was questioned last month by federal authorities. Richard A. Rydze met with officials regarding transactions with an Orlando pharmacy accused of involvement in illegal steroid distribution.
Investigators wanted to know why Rydze supposedly used a personal credit card for a $150,000 purchase of human growth hormone and testosterone in 2006.

Rydze, a physician with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, told investigators the drugs were for his personal patients, according to The Times Union of Albany, N.Y.

I, for one, am shocked that the rich son of a NFL QB who has been treated like royalty his entire life is an ######. Shocked, I tell you.

You did this all wrong. By attacking both Peyton and the Steelers in the same thread it just removes your credibility, distances the conversation on your initial post about Peyton and just paints you as just another bitter NE backer who feels like you are the only team that gets caught cheating. Which, you are by the way.

next you're gonna try and tell me Papa John is some kind of behind the scenes creep.

It should be noted that the 'explosive court documents' being referenced were filed by the plaintiff. Not saying they are fabricated, but they are going to be one-sided and biased against Manning.

<~Not a Manning or Pats fan

Please.

Defendants don't tend to file complaints against themselves.

Saw the title on mobile, thought it's got to be another salty hater from the NEP fan base. You guys need to stop.

guess we've hit the slow news cycle

pft recycles this story seemingly annually.
Yep just rape, we should sweep under rug and bury our heads in sand.
wait, what?

but who said anything about burying head in the sand? this story has literally been out there for over a decade. no need to bury your head in the sand.
Just because it's been "out there" for over a decade doesn't mean it isn't any less horrific. Or has the statute of limitations run out for Manning being a sexual predator?

lolol. As soon as I saw the thread title, I wondered which Patriots fan started it. So so sad. :(

It's really only the same few NE posters starting this dribble. I'm trying my best to remember that and not lump the entire fan base into the same category as them.

So are you saying it's untrue, or that it doesn't matter?

I'm saying bringing this up is akin to starting up another thread on Brady/Pats cheating and titling it 'Brady's Legacy Built on Lies'. Sure I could start one, and it could be argued that it's more likely to be true (and obviously more current), but I'm not going to because A) It's been done to death, and B) Nothing new has happened that's worth discussing. This story doesn't qualify anywhere near B.

Cheating in a football game is far worse than sexually assualting, then ruining lives, to cover up said sexual assault. Winston's story certainly gets rehashed, and his reputation has suffered greatly. But he isn't awe shucks, gee golly Peyton Manning.

The problem is it was never discussed because the media has protected the NFL's golden boy.

You need to wait twelve more years for that. Thirteen year old stories are always better. lol

I'm sure if it was one of you caveman's daughter who was sexually assaulted you would be still talking about 13 years later if nothing was being done about it.

Peyton could be shown on Sports Center tonight, with his jersey on, tag-teaming Mother Teresa's corpse, with Papa John, while screaming "Omaha!", and he'd still be more likeable than Tom Brady.

Oh the mental gymnastics Peyton Manning fans will do to preserve their all american boy.
This story is old hat, I know people who don't care anything about football that knows that peypey stamped a staff member in college and settled out of court twice.

Either way, as the first poster noted, the original cast of characters has already made this a thread about NE fans creating threads and not the actual content of the thread, although im not convinced had a non-NE fan had made this thread or posted it in one of the various terrible threads related to this that they wouldn't have been accused of being closeted Pats fans and we'd be right back to this #### show.

He kisses our papa with that mouth.

AND if said criminal went on to become a beloved icon who has had his face and voice all over countless commercials and endorses too many products to count...yeah, I am guessing that those wounds have no trouble staying nice and fresh.

This seems to me to be applying 2016 morality and standards to 1996 actions.

Secondly, this feel an awfully lot like Patriot fans slinging dirt in their never ending quest to prove their golden boy is better. These guys have been carrying that torch for pretty much ever, and I guess that won't end anytime soon.

The allegation is probably true, and it probably was swept under the rug due to his family name and notoriety. I promise you its not the first time nor the last time thecrich and famous received special treatment. I'm in no way condoning these actions, just pointing out that in the grand scheme of things, this is a non-story and has been for a decade or more.

I have not heard about this story until today, it's been largely buried to the masses. I'd bet if you asked anyone about this at any given Super Bowl party that 1 or 2 out of 10 had heard of this. Not everyone spends all day on a forum devoted football.

But your right, because a sexual assault and subsequent trashing of one's life isn't that big of a deal because some people knew about it and turned a blind eye.

Since the HGH nonsense never got any traction, they had to dig this old news up. So laughable. :lmao:
Are you implying anyone thinks this is gonna get any coverage? This more than decade old story retold by someone who thinks being more sure that Peyton had sexually assaulted a woman was relevant enough to write a new story about it. Despite Peyton having settled twice now - as if there was anything to leave any doubt at all.

Edit: To be clear I don't have a problem with anyone bringing this back up, or any kind of character questioning situation for anyone, the amount of times I've read that Brady's ex had his child after he dumped her in every thread about Peyton or Brady - so I know you all feel the same way.

I don't think this thread gets made by a non-NE fan. The best you could hope for is a NE Fan's 2nd account.

I don't give a #### about the Patriots, Colts or Broncos.. I just hate when America collectively decides to have a cognitive dissonance when it comes to these things, because herp-derp football. What has made the Sandusky and Lance Armstrong scandals far worse, than the crimes themselves is people's willingness to prop up our sports heroes at the expense of other people.

So what should be the punishment for a 20 year old who drops trou and puts his butt on someone's head?

Nice deflection buddy, but that is not what happened.. Why don't you go spin your gears for a few minutes coming up with a new hilarious sexual assault joke.

Sir please, it was his ######, rectum, scrotum and penis. :excited: Lol that text filtering

I've just read the article and FWIW, the opinion of this non-NE fan, formerly Peyton-respecting football-loving neutral spectator (who happens to be a lawyer) is: Manning is a criminal. And an immense #####. No way those Tennessee athletes, including his former teammates, are testifying under oath counter to Manning's interests unless what they're saying is absolutely true. Her lawyers may be peddling the paperwork, but they could not have manufactured its content. And he kisses Papa John with that mouth? (edit: damn, I now see I was not the first to make the Papa John joke; sum#####!)
