  1. Best wishes to MT, one of the best people I know.
  2. Yep: they have made Arnold an interesting and almost sympathetic character. He seems well-intentioned but completely clueless in the political arena. He's a soldier and a brute -- and a very good one at that -- but is (much) more brawns than brain and it has been his undoing. I don't know how accurate that summary of him as a real person was, but it makes him a much deeper character than I expected to see.
  3. Pretty good season finale.
  4. Awesome episode. I would say the best yet of the series. Pretty cool show this is turning into -- a meh season 1, a solid season 2, and an awesome season 3.
  5. Good stuff, GB. I think you still owe me for a coffee or a beer or a potato.
  6. I actually laughed out loud.
  7. It did turn out great. I ended up doing it with an Oban, a Lagavulin 16, an Isle of Jura (Brooklyn), and a Mac 12. It was definitely a hit. The Lag 16 was my favorite, but I knew that beforehand. Was a little disappointed in the Jura -- I've liked it before, but perhaps in combination with what else was there it just didn't sit right.
  8. I wish this show got more pub. It's really picking up and I love how things with Arnold are turning out. Very well done.
  9. Pretty good stuff -- Woodhull and Simcoe seem to avoid death every other week.
  10. Typical millennials, trying to have their cake, eat it, and photograph it, too.
  11. It's unusual, but I wouldn't label it obnoxious. Again, I would rather bring money than have to go shopping. I recognize that society doesn't necessarily agree, but I'd much rather the host do all the work and I bring cash. But that might make me an exception. Still, I couldn't imagine you would ever go to a children's party with your kid(s) and not bring something. Cash, noncash, what's the diff?
  12. Wouldn't you plan on bringing a gift or something anyway? Food, drinks? That probably would cost $20-$50 anyway, so I wouldn't be bothered if what I had to bring was cash or noncash. Frankly, if next time I was invited over to a party, and I could get away with bringing cash rather than shopping for something to bring, I would be happy.
  13. I will add that I love how things turned out with Wendy. Kudos to her for recognizing that she was living with two monsters, and I'm glad she didn't pick a side -- saying goodbye to both guys made a lot of sense.
  14. Finally caught up. Entertaining first season but agree that some of the lines are pretty bad. That last scene took me out of the moment as it was so over-the-top.
