If the #yesallwomen machine fires up they could get that Rice suspension increased. The Rice suspension is a major PR black eye for the league, and it will be brought up every time any suspension is discussed. 2 games is ridiculous and offensive to women, women the League has been spending tons of dough trying to attract in past years. /hijack

Good post. Some amount of calling people out is going to happen. But it went overboard long ago. People who want to discuss Gordon won't bother coming in here anymore with all the bickering. Discuss Gordon, not other posters. This. Drop the chest bump call out stuff here. If you can't do that, do not be surprised when you're not allowed to post any longer. J

I love the delta between quotes and headlines. A wideouts only comment about him is that he didn't make any mistakes. Not "was great" or "looked sharp" or "made some amazing throws" or "big plays." This becomes "Mistake-Free Manziel" and "technically perfect?" Some of these guys should work for the White House.

I just don't get this position. So a guy is man enough to garner massive paychecks - sometimes in the millions per year range, but he requires hand holding and nursing to maintain a modicum of behavior to continue to earn? When do these "boys" become man enough to have it register what they are placing at risk and taking some personal responsibility? Seems to me that owning the responsibility for one's behavior is necessary for responsible behavior. Enabling the behavior with excuses is the last thing that is going to positively affect these guys. Players come and go. The game goes on with or without them. That's easy to say but many of these guys come from backgrounds where they were never taught things like personal responsibility and some have actual addictions that need to be treated. I think the substance abuse policy should be more about treatment (mandatory rehab/counseling after the first suspension) than about punishment. Both Gordon and Blackmon should have immediately entered rehab when they were first suspended and not allowed back in the NFL until they completed treatment.

back on as in he will stay in MLS til next summer or back on as in Yedlin will move immediately? I like it either way to be honest. Yedlin is now OK with staying at Seattle through the season. He wouldn't move immediately. That sounds like a middle point then. Instead of leaving immediately or leaving next summer are you saying they are now thinking of having him move in the winter? Sorry, next summer. Here is Seltzer's entire comment at Noshortcorners

You should probably read the NFL's substance abuse and personal conduct policies. Or this very thread where they've been discussed in detail for more than 50 pages. The length of Gordon's suspension will depend 100% on which stage of the program he was in at the time of the failed / missed test. It's not a "Commissioner's discretion" issue at all. Then what the hell is the point of the appeal? He could argue many defenses to a failed test, such as "chain of custody", "false positive" etc. He could be asking for some leniency based on circumstances (such as if it truly was a missed test for circumstances beyond his control). Bottom line is there's an appeal, because Gordon's side exercised their right to seek an appeal. Generally the suspensions are upheld, but some have been over-turned on appeal (recently Sherman's).

That's why I said Smyly needs to be the primary lefty specialist and Kroll/Coke need to be the secondary guys. Extra innings or when playing with a big lead, maybe at a deficit too - depending on how the rest of the pen's workload has been.

When I read this yesterday, I imagine the feeling I got is like when an old guy going through a mid-life crisis must feel like when some hot 20-something girl flirts with him. For a coach to come out and say plainly "RBs Run. They don't run forever. We got a good one. We are going to run him." I just get giddy. Not giddy like when they were saying last year in Buffalo that they were going to run Spiller until he left his lunch on the field. Not like that because I never believed it. I don't think SPiller is that kind of back. But I KNOW Lacy is that kind of back and I trust the Packers to be believable. If you are a Lacy owner, seriously, you have, right now, one of the rarest RB situations to come along in a long time in that you most likely got him cheaper than you should have to start with and he is a legitimate threat to be one of the best backs in the NFL on one of the best teams in the NFL that has been scoring a lot in recent years. Nobody is going to argue Charles, Shady, ADP, and a few others going before him but you might realistically be sitting on the #1 back in ff and not by a little bit. He could be like last year when the storm brewed for Charles. You just knew if he played all year he was going to lap the field. Lacy might do that this year. Im curious what you project his receiving stats to be, what you think his TD total will be, and what you think Rodgers TD total will be. When I think of those three scenarios I have trouble with the idea he can even be in the top 5. I don't. GB is going to put up video game 2011 esque numbers this season on offense IMO. Especially if they "emphasize" defensive holding, as per: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/21/get-ready-for-the-legion-of-boom-rule/ Which should open up the passing game even more. I could see easily over 500 points scored, with Rodgers up over 40 passing TD's and Lacy putting together ~1400 rush yards, ~15 TD and catching about 40 passes. Giving how deep they run at WR I'm not sure the extent to which he's going to be a key target in the passing game, but GB should be scoring at least 30 points a week this season. Especially with their RZ problems in 2012 and beginning of last year, I could see Lacy getting even more goaline work than usual as well, if that proves the case knock some of those TD's off the Rodgers tally and push Lacy further up toward 20 on the ground. It's gonna be fun to watch. Remember that McCarthy in his stints as coach has run the *$@& out of his guys if healthy and effective (Lacy to an extent last season, Ryan Grant over 300 carries in 2009, McAllister got 350+ when Mike was OC there). How many catches Lacy has is dependent on how the WR and TE grouping shakes out, if Finley doesn't actually return or usage remains limited on the new guys they brought in this season I'd bump him.

Go into Games, and there should be an 'enter a code' thing. Once you enter the code it'll start downloading. Or I think you can just say "Xbox Enter Code" Well, I entered the code on my computer at work and it told me I own the Destiny Beta. Went home and couldn't find jack on the XB1. On your Xbox One, you have to go to the games tile on the home screen. There, you should have a tile somewhere that says "enter code". You select that tile, and then enter the code that you've been given here. It will then commence to automatically download (its a huge file). I have two more codes if that one doesn't work, just let me know if you need it. Is there a worse interface than the Xbox1?

All the people saying "pot gets you 16" and beating your girlfriend "gets you 2" need to put down the pipe and see that there is more to it than that. One guy is getting busted every few months breaking the rules and the other guy got busted the first time breaking the rules. Obviously if they both got busted for the first time and got these sentences then there would be a problem. I do agree that 2 games is weak though. But Gordon deserves 16 as well.

In one of those Starks had almost 170 total yards and a TD, and in the other Franklin and Starks combined for over 180 yds and another TD. He can certainly be top 5, I'm expecting it myself.

For many purposes you are assumed to be in control of the items in your immediate vicinity, such as in your car or house. For example a convicted felon will have a difficult time escaping felon in possession gun charges by claiming that it wasn't "his" gun, but his passenger's/roommate's/wife's, etc. ETA - At least, that's the leverage the District Attorney / US Attorney has. A single felony drug possession, plus a violation of parole thereafter because you got pulled over and one of your boys had a gun = mandatory minimum sentence. Good luck not taking the plea when you're looking at 30 years for a non-violent offense; or you can plea for 10-15. Mandatory sentencing + Draconian drug laws + felon in possession laws + the world's most guns + disenfranchisement for convicted felons + private prisons (who gain 'customers' by lobbying for longer standard sentencing) = the world's largest prison population. The US, with roughly 300 million people, has more people in prison than China, with over 1.3 billion. Think about that... more than a communist regime with a knack for suppression and almost 5x our population... and we have more prisoners. John Oliver takes on the prison system in the USA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pz3syET3DY

He has recently blown past... Fitzgerald Welker AJohnson Harvin Crabtree RWhite DJackson ... so making prediction now is going to be a bit unsure. He is locked into the start/mid of the 4th round in 12 teamers. If you say you want him in round 4, you may not get him. In redraft I would take most listed over Patterson, dynasty I want Patterson, redraft I want those guys who have done it before and still can do it.

I think you're kind of missing the real point, here. It's July. Whether Sammy Watkins slipped on a route or not doesn't really matter. He's going to slip on some routes as a pro. He's going to make some good catches as a pro. We could argue about whether the fact that he slipped was more representative of his pro potential, or whether the fact that he made it up afterwards is more representative, but it's an argument that entirely misses the point. The point here- the real point- is that it's late July and we can finally watch football players making ridiculous football plays. I mean, that play! After a summer of NBA and World Cup and Golf and lord only knows what else! It's so beautiful I could cry.

Anything less than a 16 game suspension will be a victory for Soulfy. His doubters were at minimum expecting 16 games and at worst a lifetime ban. I think his haters are starting to get nervous. Cant wait to see the outcome. (Would use the pig emoticon but it looks stupid).

They have similar arms in the system though, which is good. Just nice to have five or six of those guys because you know half of them will never work out. Derek Hill is now the #1 prospect in the system, and they just drafted him. And he got off to a good start. Lakeland had several arms looking good earlier this year. The progression takes awhile for most h.s. pitchers. The thing I liked about Thimpson is he had a filled out body for a 20 y.o. Never saw him live but he fits the mold of a big guy who could be eating up a lot of innings in a few years. But if Soria helps them solidify the BP it's the right move. We don't know how much longer this run lasts; win now while you got the core in it's prime.

When the playoffs arrive, do you think they'll switch Smyly back to middle relief? If the starters can go 7 innings in a number of the playoff games and Smyly could bridge or finish a couple more, they should be quite fine, I would think.

Chamberlain is going to get a nice mid-sized FA contract this offseason. Pretty much the only bullpen guy I trust. Tigers are 48-3 after seven innings this year though, so it's not nearly as bad as some want to make it out to be.

So now we are claiming more the ground crew are in on it and every one is just terrified? More and more Alex Jones by the minute. You know I always wonder since everyone else is so terrified that are in on all these conspiracies why does Alex Jones drone on and why isn't he dead by the hand of the evil one to be feared? If he can go on the national airwaves and spew daily why are all these other people so terrified?
  50. 1 point
In the end this is where all these kinds of conspiracies breakdown. Too many people involved for too long. If this had been going on someone with little clearance and well outside the military chain of command would have to know to get it on aircraft to be sprayed. Has anyone here ever worked commercial aviation? I have. I worked part time when I was in fueling planes and general ramp work. No one was filling any secret compartments with anything. But let's say it is happening. So a guy making 8 bucks an hour would have to be in on it.. Yeah you get that kind of loyalty for 8 bucks an hour when there is a fortune to be made and 15 minutes to be had. Think about it people
