  1. For those who are new around here, the Player Spotlights are a main feature of our preseason on the site. They're in-depth looks at key players, including pros and cons, and our staff projections. For years, we also included the best commentary from the Shark Pool. A few years ago, activity in the Pool died down and commentary waned. But, we have confidence in a resurgence. So here's the deal. Discuss your thoughts about the player in question. We'll pick the best comments from the bunch and use them (and give you credit) in the published articles. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nick Chubb, RB- Cleveland Browns In typical stock PPR scoring, Nick Chubb finished 17th among all running backs and second among all rookie runners. In an offense that's ascending, can he take a leap into the top ten running backs this year? Where do you see him placing among his teammates in terms of receptions? How does adding Todd Monken as the Offensive Coordinator change things for Chubb, positively or negatively?
  2. That's interesting, Dan. Why do you see Moore's touchdowns being decreased? I agree with you that Grier may be a better fit for the type of receiver that Moore is. We'll see if Grier gets an opportunity to prove that in a couple of years due to a Newton injury or the team moving on.

Moore WR- Carolina Panthers Moore looked promising in his rookie year, snagging 55 balls for 788 yards. That was with Christian McCaffrey registering 107 catches. Is there any chance Moore forces a more even split in targets this year? Will Cam Newton's health be a factor? Can Moore produce if Will Grier sees playing time this season? How will Norv Turner's playcalling factor into target shares?
  4. You guys probably know the deal by now -- after a hiatus, we're bringing the Player Spotlight threads back to the Shark Pool. Frustration directed at Cam Newton, particularly in regard to his accuracy began to surface in newspaper article and on social media sites. The Panthers have made some changes, including adding Norv Turner to replace Mike Shula. How do you see this year shaking out for Newton with a new offensive coordinator? Can Christian McCaffrey and C.J. Anderson finally get a consistent ground attack going? Can Funchess continue to take steps forward to reach his potential? this Will the addition of D.J. Moore make a sizeable impact in year one? Let's discuss!

He was drafted as a top five reciever, but finished seventeenth PPR scoring. This was due in large part to critical injuries to Jameis Winston and key members of the defense that destabilized the team. Now we know that Winston will miss three games due to suspension. The defense is healthy and improved through free agency and the draft. Can Ryan Fitzpatrick hold down the fort until Winston is able to return? Even with Winston back, do you see this offense as being able to do enough to help Mike Evans return to dominance? Is this division just too tough for the Bucaneers to hang in and create competitive game scripts that will help Evans? Do you believe Mike Evans is overrated or is he a value at current ADP? Let's discuss!

He comes back to an offense with a new quarterback at the helm, a shaky offensive line, and lots of questions on the defensive side of the ball. Will he return to greatness in 2018, or will the circumstances of his team pull him down? Will the game scripts be good enough to keep the ground game as a factor? Will the offensive line generate enough for Johnson to create? Let's discuss!

Anderson for the past few years, the Broncos finally allowed him to walk in free agency. Many expected that Devontae Booker would be the next man up, but Denver took Royce Freeman early in round three. What will this backfield look like by year's end? Does Freeman have the skills to threaten for the majority of the touches in year one? Is there any chance of Booker rebounding, though he's largely been a dissapointment thus far? If Freeman does win the primary job, will the offense be good enough to create the game scripts he needs to thrive? Let's discuss!
  8. No argument from me there! The talent is unquestionable. Are last year's numbers repeatable? That's an entirely different discussion.

Most agree that this is unsustainable production. Yet Hopkins continues to be drafted in the early-to-mid first round of redraft formats. Is the threat of regression enough to scare you away from Hopkins at current ADP, or do you feel it won't be a significant enough drop to bump him down? If you do believe he will regress, what are the reasons and how significant will that regression be? Let's discuss!

A new coaching staff and an offensive scheme designed to accentuate Goff’s strengths and hide weaknesses helped turn the offense around and make Goff a more than serviceable fantasy option. With similar changes happening in Chicago, can we expect the same kind of results with Mitch Trubisky? Is Mitch Trubisky the perfect late round quarterback to target, or are there better options? Let’s discuss!
  11. The fantasy community received news last evening that Jameis Winston could face a three-game suspension to start the season. This morning, Trevor Sikkema suggested that the suspension may not relate to the incident, but the fact that Winston did not report the incident, as is called for under the CBA. Is there a good chance of Winston getting this suspension reduced or vacated if he can prove that Uber did not provide him with information suggesting that his "misconduct" on the ride related to sexual assault? Does the NFL even have grounds to suspend Winston at all based on what we know? Let's discuss!

Moore WR- Carolina Panthers The Panthers have not been able to find that true number one wideout, despite investing relatively high draft capital in Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess. Carolina has once again used a first-round pick to select D.J. Moore. Will Moore finally be the one who defies disappointment? Is Moore's style more consistent with the new breed of NFL number one wide receiver? Will Norv Turner's offense be a good fit for Moore's skills? Will Moore be the best rookie wideout for fantasy purposes in this class? Enough questions - give me some answers!
