  1. Yo, Sniffer: R U going to do an ADP for WSL?

view your own profile, up on the top right you should be able to access it

    lol

  3. What's this "personal conversation" deal....where do I access it? 03/07 @ 11:26 am

  4. Customary vs. rules....Oh what game!Just wanted to clarify as I was envolved in WSL in 2011, 2010 and 2009. In 2009 and 2011, two of the Leagues I was in (I filled in for two Leagues in 2011 so it was four Leagues over three years) had violations of the clock times over the super Bowl Week end with the result being total chaos extending into Monday of the next week.Seems that at some previous time and in some previous WSL play, the clock had been suspended over the SB weekend. This resulted in guys just stating "....I thought that the clock was off" and just blowing off the competition.Jeff then was placed into cleaning up the mess after the fact and he choose to allow the violations with no penalty being dispensed for the violations. Everybody else was left checking in multiple times over the weekend and wondering who was on first. In 2011 I was branded a quiter after I left the "competition" on Monday, stating that "I could stand it anymore and was done with this mess."I've perused the rules and looked for the "Dispensation After The Mess" clause and couldn't find where the practice was formally adopted into the Rules...it's not there. It's just "....the custom" and not part of the rules....yet.So, at the risk of being further pillaged by the WSL crowd, I'd ask for a formal adoption into the rules for this practice as it's OK to just blow off the draft due to the Super bowl Exclusion and it's OK to do so and have no penalty rendered....Just state "I thought the clock was off" and it's OK.Or....maybe in lieu of adopting a formal rules change, Jeff could just post (before it happens again) that this has happend in two of the last three years...without penalty....and that it's not OK to do so.Miss you guys....knock 'um dead.Jees...how do you get rid of the X in the reply icon deal?

  6. Make that two of us.Lost in this discussion is the job that the DEN coaching staff is doing in shaping the team on both sides of the ball.To take the OFF and tailor it to the players drafted by the previous regime is just flat making lemonade from lemons. The staff has done an amazing job with the OFF side of the ball, with their game planning and play selection. To take that DEF from last year and make it into a serviceable group is the same deal. "Drow Paige" wrote a DP column with the stats from the first starts by HOF QB's, including Elway's start up line through his first eight games. None of those "first few games" starter lines set the world on fire as most had more INT's than TD's and all were similar to Tebow's stat line.Oh, a little ditty about TEBOW and his combine results: his time in one of the measureables stuck out....it was the drill where you measure direction change ability...his short shuttle time of 4.1 seconds. To put that in perspective, Dexter McCluster was at 4.0 seconds. When Timmy outflanked the Jet's on that 20 yarder he just flat out-quicked a mis-matched SS to the edge. Two TD's in last year's final games were scored off of the same play call: heavy formation to the right and Tebow taking a jab step right then reversing on a dime ($.08 change) and outracing the contain man to the left (wide side of the field) perimeter. Thursday night was the same play from from a slightly different formation....same result though.

  8. That is a serious understatement. What's the final outcome?
  9. About Gettysburg: I had an opportunity to visit two year's ago, spent two days there. Before I went, I researched what I was going to see to try to get an understanding of why the battle hinged on Pickett's charge and, more importantly, why that battle tactic was adopted. I stumbled on the key to the battle before I went and was able to read this entire book to put it into context: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0PB...84/ai_n6124056/ In summation, a flanking maneuver by the South Calvery was thwarted by the North Calvery (Stuart was stopped by Custer in a masterful battlefield maneuver). Stewart was set on a flanking operation in the early AM and was supposed to attack from the rear after the cannon birage. Custer's men were hidden in the woods and an adacious Calvery charge, initiated and led by Custer, stopped their advance. I went to the site of the movie that Gods and Generals portrays and got the vibes from that topography....it's a place of honor. I sought out the backwoods where Stuart met Custer and was not able to say that I actually found it as it's not a recognized tourist spot. I was fortunate to discover the answer to my question: why would all those guys march across that field....into canister and ball and then rifle fire? And, I was fortunate to find the answer before I visited. If Gettysburg was instrumental in determining the course of the War, Custer was instrumental in determining the outcome of the battle.
  10. BUMP for effect? What effect are you looking for?"Hi, I'm stryker and I have a drinking problem"? Hi stryker. I'm Homer and I have a drinking problem too. Wanna go get a beer?Does this guy think he's gona convert us?My mom does a better job of telling me I'm a loser Edit - cleaning up bad word(s) Maybe "This Guy"has been there and maybe, just maybe, he's trying to help you get up and get out.You can lead a Horse to water.....
  11. That's an interesting question.I'd think that, since he's: 1) on your roster, and 2) that you can only have one of any player on a roster.... .....that he's yours till "Death Do Us Part."
  12. Bruce: your copy from another thread. It depends on the changes Bruce makes. I haven't had any problems importing league files the last couple of years...The problems aren't associated with changes. The problems are that if you've prostituded the DD function for off-season results (i.e., customized for drafting in the pre-NFL Draft time), you're stuck with that version for the next period. For instance: a custom scoring may need false indicators to get the installed player values up to the League norm. When the seasonal update occures, the values set for the established players, and the doctored scoring indicators, need to be left intact. To accomplish that, you just don't import values for players that you've pre-established, i.e., you continue to use the artificially altered veteran's values that you've established for the pre-season. It would sure be a good idea to just issue the Rookies and their team affiliations in a seperate release....in a "Rookie Lite" version if you will. Everybody's gonna tweak the Rookie values anyway. But to pre-load the Rookies, and their team affiliations, into a quick update would sure be the "Cat's Meow." Identify the values attached to each Rookie with a qualifier....that the points are a best guestimate and that the Importer has to be aware of the method used to establish individual Rookie player point values.
