  1. First, Pasquino has Cam Newton ranked as QB20 in his 10/1 Dynasty Rankings-- so basically, I feel you can pretty much discount his rankings all-together.Second, onto Smiff, who I also own in a dynasty. If I'm rebuilding, I would try to move him for quality youth talent from a contender-- I wouldn't limit myself to just comparable WRs, but I would consider a guy like Harvin, depending on how he progresses as the season goes on. Obviously if you have a decent team, he is a solid hold.what were these pasquino ranks dated? If he has newton outside top5 i'd scream, if it's outside qb 12, he's dead to me.
  2. One thing about dynasty rankings is seeing the forest through the trees: If Jonathan Stewart is a top 10 dynasty back (and I'm not arguing he's NOT), that almost surely means your team has been counting on starting him every week this year. Need I elaborate further on what a DISASTER your team's record SHOULD look like with that being the case? It's great to engage in mental masturbation over what "could/would/should" be in the next several years. meanwhile, teams with Shonn Greene and Stewart are circling the drains jockeying for draft position where their owners will then draft Shonn G/Daily Show 2.0
  3. I think Ray Rice has been a bust in re-draft this year, but I'd bet his future is bright in Balto, and all he needs is more goalline touches and/or a mcgahee purge to be elite under any rubric. ONE thing, though, that I bet helps all is dynasty is that the average footballguy gets bedazzled with random input from people that have an inherent PPR bias. THAT NOISE interferes with many signals, and most of us can gain leverage from that.
  4. If felix got dinged up or something, you may have your clue to what happened today and you may extend the previous scuttlebutt that he can't take the featured back pounding.Otherwise... Dallas simply HAS to clean house this year, and Barber and the whole coaching staff have got to be purged? Jones sure has "purty" stats per touch, and his "eye test" screams HIT ME as a future star.
  5. One of the best posts I have ever seen on this thread. For those that keeping score, "good process"!!!And I got lucky buying low on DMC before this year (and had him benched this past week. DOH!!!).Uhh, I think I'm starting DMC over J Stewart going forward this year, though!
  6. In no particular order:1. Andre Johnson2. Roddy White3. Calvin Johnson4. Larry Fitzgerald5. Brandon Marshall6. Vincent Jackson7. Sidney Rice8. Santonio Holmes9. Dez Bryant10. Miles Austin11. Demaryius Thomas12. Hakeem Nicks13. Desean Jackson14. Dwayne Bowe (though I'm sure many would disagree)15. Marques ColstonGuys I say more talented, but perhaps discounted for age: Steve Smith CAR, Reggie Wayne, Randy Moss, Hines WardGuys I think are more talented, but could see him being ranked over by someone else: Greg Jennings, Mike WallaceAnother Vincent Jackson sighting... PLEASE predict with any accuracy: 1) Where will he play next year? 2) How will his layoff affect him as he approaches late 20's? 3) How ill he rank among his receiving options?Next, name ONE WR who turned a bad actor/holdout whiner status into a perennial all pro status that you are grandfathering VJAX into with your ranking.I'd have Vjax at ~23 or so going forward. He will likely have decent value from 2011-13. Like 11-15 value in re-draft in 2/3 of those seasons... You'reYou're DRUNK on Kool-aid if you project him any better than that with the ??? mentioned above. Before/after and MAYBE during that timeframe -- he's ROADKILL
  7. I actually love SSOG too. But he's an ostrich on an island way too often and he busts his neck pretending he's NOT. Much better, IMO, for him to listen and learn than to spit the bit defending his bizarre, out on a limb takes. LOVE the drivel about Doughboy McNabb PPG rankings vs. Peyton. SSOG, care to wager what the week-in, week-out head to head matchups look like for McNabb and QB ~15 vs, Manning in weeks 1-15 for the last 10 years? I'd bet it's Manning winning 2/3 off the top of my head. But keep on pumping out those vociferous opinions! I think we all love them, even though you're often W R O N G!
  8. Peter King (obviously not a fantasy guru) had Josh Freeman in his top 5 on the MVP list so far this season. If one believes in Freeman, it's probably too late to get him cheap? I own him and I don't think I believe.
  9. Has there ever been a QB with a bigger double chin that Roethlisberger? I can't imagine a fat QB with an obvious drinking problem will age well?
  10. At the rate he's developing? What? Two and a half years ago the guy was a cornerback. This is the development chart for a typical NFL WR:Year 1-4: playing WR in high schoolYear 5-7: playing WR in collegeYear 8: rookie year, playing poorly.Year 9: 2nd year, playing poorly.Year 10: 3rd year breakout. This is Devin Hester:Year 1: #1 WR on an NFL franchiseSee the difference? People act like Devin Hester is behind the curve or something, but the truth is he's so astronomically far ahead of the curve in terms of development that it's mind boggling. The very first year the guy was a WR, he led an NFL franchise in receiving yardage. His second season as a WR, he did it again despite missing 3 games. He draws the opposing defense's toughest coverage despite the fact that he's the rawest receiver in the league by a huge margin. I mean, if you consider him a rookie in 2008 (which he was- actually, he was worse than a rookie, he was a rookie with no college WR experience), then his progression has been exactly what you'd expect from a quality WR. 51/665/3 in 15 games as a rookie, 57/775/3 in 13 games as a sophomore (and on an 1100+ yard pace prior to getting injured). How people can bury Hester at this point just baffles me. Makes no sense whatsoever.Your point is solid but I always do a doubletake when I see Hester as the #1 WR on his team in any year, not that it's incorrect, it indeed is an accurate statement if we need to call someone the #1 WR. But the guy has 665 and 757 yards receiving, for a #1 WR that's plain horrible and demonstrates that there was no true #1 WR either year.SSOG ignores that Hester was #1 among a supporting cast of clowns. Projecting the leap to an actual difference maker at WR is much, much more dubious. Hester's ONE elite talent is the most fleeting... By the time the position skills catch up to the physical tools, the speed won't be elite anymore. All this said, Hester was a hot commodity after 6-7 games last year.
  11. I cant imagine anyone would have prefered Ocho to Nicks before this season started, did they? I had Nicks at #16 with a DS of 40, and Chad at #25 with a DS of 32. Obviously now that margin is much bigger, but i dont think anyone would have taken Ocho over Nicks in a startup draft going into this season. You wouldn't think so, but heaven forbid anyone ever disagree with SSOG...
  12. Anyone care to revisit the Nicks vs. Ochocinco preseason dynasty discussion and talk about the dynasty principles involved in the 'debate'?
  13. Seriously? I guess it depends on league size and scoring dynamics, but I cannot imagine any scenario - even before the uncertainty with VJ - that VJax and a 2nd is worth Rivers and a first. The second trade is equally troubling - though I guess there's a case to be made, in a PPR with 4 pts per passing TD and a smaller QB starting pool.In any case, I would have done either deal in a heartbeat regardless of my QB situation. So would anyone with an IQ over room temp? But just dont call those people stoopid, or ssog will turn you off...
