  1. I'll take the 80 yds and TD. Jesus people, it could have been worse. I'll worry about next year next year.

Yeah, but it could have easily been soooo much better. Dream scenario is to have a kickoff return stopped at the 2. We got that, plus we got three helping of Gurley - and ended up sucking eggs. 21 carries, 2 goal line drives - and we get 15 points? That's settling. You get that kind of scenario with an AP or healthy Lynch and you end up with 30 unless it's SEA in the Super Bowl.

21 carries, 2 receptions, and a Rams win. It's a winning formula for them.

  2. Limited practice today

Actually missed practice today after limited yesterday. Interesting.
    Yeah that was from yesterday

Sorry - I should get reading comprehension lessons.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like he isn't ready yet if he went from limited in practice to not practicing.

They didn't want him/Alshon on turf. I wouldn't read into it too much, he's a veteran. It's not like he needs practice. Goes without saying, tomorrow will be key if the winds die down.

  3. People seriously think Forte is going to the bench when he comes back?

Yeah, I don't see that either - Fox does seem to value experience. Langford really showed his stuff, but if there were a more proven vet behind Forte, I am not sure Langford would have gotten his chance.

I could see Langford becoming the full time third down back. Way more electric in the passing game. Forte has good hands and will still catch passes on first and second down, but bringing Langford in for third downs is a logical way to still get him quality touches while presenting a coverage issue for defenses. I could see two or three series for Forte, followed by one for Langford. Plus the full time third down role for Langford.

Cant say I have studied it closely enough to feel strongly about it...but isnt Forte kind of a perfect RB for 3rd down? Very reliable and savvy in the pass game, plus able to pass block.

Yes. Langford is good for 2nd/3rd and long. 3rd and 4, Forte is still in there.

  4. I'm starting to think Gurley is one of the best RBs I've ever seen, period, not just in the game today.

He is the total package (what can't he do?*).

If Jim Brown and Eric Dickerson had a baby, and Walter Payton and Barry Sanders had a baby, and THEIR babies had a baby...

    * Staying healthy is about it for concerns.

Brian Baldinger said it the other day.

Some guys talent are so obvious it's impossible to miss. My mother could scout Todd Gurley.

Not quoting because this isn't exact. Something along these lines, though.

  5. Anyone actually see a successful trade involving Gurley go down recently? Would be nice to see what a realistic ransom is.

Do you guys have any children you aren't that attached to?

I wouldn't sell for their child, unless she's legal and really hot, Hot wife would work, too.

"So you two had an arranged marriage? That's interesting, what was the dowry?"

    "Todd Gurley"

  6. @ClaytonESPN said today on ESPN 1000 that WR Alshon Jeffery is simply "not happy" w/o Brandon Marshall in Chicago. #Bears

    wow, not misleading at all.

At 1:17:43 of the podcast, Carmen says "The word around the campfire is he's not happy anymore, he doesn't like the fact that Brandon Marshall is gone, he might not want to commit to this team long term. Are you hearing any of that and do the bears have to consider trading him"

John Clayton: "Heard it, uhh, but the problem in trading him are you going to get value." and then he goes on about the trade/comp possibilities.

It's hardly Clayton saying what Leming says he did.

  7. i hope he doesn't play honestly. makes it an easy decision to leave him on the bench

+1 I'm already short Dez but still have some options. I'd rather go without Jeffery this week than have to make a decision between him or another healthy WR. Let him sit out and get healthy so that he isn't dealing with this all season. If they keep rolling him out it could turn out like Megatron last year.

I think we all agree as fantasy owners we'd rather him sit out. Unfortunately, the teams don't care about that. If they feel he is good enough to play, even on a limited basis, he's going to play. It's the worst place to be as a fantasy owner.

and if he sat out last week to get him 100% healthy, you'd want to sit him out again this week? If he plays it's good news, it's the team saying they don't think he's risking more. If he sits it's bad news, and you'd have this same conversation next week. If you want to fast forward 5 weeks and say "i wish he sat week 3" that's one thing, but in a vacuum, it's better he plays. Look at TY Hilton last night, that was a good thing, not a bad thing. Same goes for Alshon

  8. Gonna play devil's advocate here. Let's say they play him within the next couple of weeks and he blows out the same knee. What's the play then? Is he a wasted high 2015 draft pick that never panned out? Do you cut him? Or do you hold on to him for a year and see how the knee heals? Always a scary thought. I think if it were me, my knee jerk reaction would be to cut him and get a roster spot. Especially if he injures the same knee. That would totally suck.

What happens if Aaron Rodgers loses his right hand trying to save a person tied up on the railroad tracks as a train is bearing down. That would totally suck.

  9. Im starting over Tannehill. I would NEVER start him over Rodgers :lmao:

    I totally get your reasoning..

As a matter of fact, I even posted my :2cents: on this question (Bradford or Tannehil) in the AC Forum.. (However the consensus is actually Tannehil)

But that's not why Im posting really.. Rodgers is playing DaBears. Rodgers may have a new-ish target in Jones, and both Teams usually try n make it a game..

Basically w/ Miller in a contract year, and another yr for Tannehil to have chemistry...

(maybe I shouldn't get your reasoning)

Aaron Rodgers has 19tds, 6 picks and 2486 yds vs the bears in his career.

    last season he averaged 309/5/0

  10. For posting a goose egg, the highlights showed two (maybe 3) routes where a decent pass results in a touchdown.

OBJ has high expectations in 2015, for good reason. He absolutely is not a flash in the pan. Only his health stands between him and a great second season.

1 big play and everyone will be back aboard.

exactly. Manning was horrible. If people can't see his talent they need a new hobby.

Maybe this is more about Manning than Odell. Its no secret that when Eli is hot, he can look like a god and when he's not, he's REALLY bad.

Odell is a terrific talent. I'm not willing to say he's going to be as good as what I've read on this forum. I think he is a "smidge" over hyped (and by smidge I mean like saying Ray Rice is being black balled a smidge).

But I think it is worth paying attention to when considering Eli because it almost seems like this is a pattern. He lights it up and all of a sudden his WRs are highly coveted and then he goes into the tank and they are very ordinary. Odell probably couldn't be "ordinary" with anything less than Curtis painter but those numbers last year were highly unsustainable and that was with Eli playing like his helmet was on fire. I expect good, but less.

Eli is a serial one year wonder maker.

    Projecting Randle for 111/1850/12.

I think James Jones is the possible play here based on the Giants WR2. Cruz simply will not be the same and he had crappy hands when he was right, and Randle always gets dinged. Giants fan who's extremely worried about both the line and maybe the hype going to ODB's head. I hope I'm wrong though.

I know this, the Giants look like they'll be playing a lot of catch up and Jones isn't even being drafted but he's looked at home with the team early on. I assume McAdoo is running some incarnation of the old Green Bay offense that Jones is familiar with

Sad to hear Corey Washington banged up in practice, I agree about Cruz/Randle, that WR2 production is there for the taking.

  11. Rotoworld:

Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Friday that first-round pick Todd Gurley (ACL) is "unlikely" to play in preseason games.

Even when Gurley is 100 percent, Fisher promised he'll rotate with Tre Mason, whom the Rams envision as "special," in Fisher's words. By all indications, the Rams intend to incorporate Gurley in as slowly and cautiously as possible, which makes some sense after investing a top-ten draft pick into him. Gurley should still emerge as St. Louis' feature back by midseason, but it's going to take some time. Mason will have a significant role, quite possibly for the majority of 2015.

smart move, don't let anyone tackle him til it matters
