  1. I believe the vast majority of abortions are the right decision, and completely moral. If the abortion was the right decision and moral, that's an indictment of the decision to get knocked up in the first place. Either way, the person is morally bankrupt. No they're not. And personally, I question YOUR morality for making such a snap judgment about people you've never met. Same old Tim.
  2. Their daughter is their responsibility. I would agree, but do you want their parents finding out through rumors and then having them approach you as the parent? That is a tough call. Do you call the parents as a responsible adult to discuss the matter as adults or just hold back and hope they don't find out 3rd party? That is a tough call. Part of me feels like I owe it to the girls parents to tell them, but I also want to be conscience of my son as well and not want to put him in too awkward of a position. Why do you feel this way? Because they need to have a talk with their daughter too in case they haven't. They may, they may not. But why do you think you "owe" it to them to let them know that?

Unless the OP's son was banging a teacher, there's probably not going to be any interesting rumors. Two teenagers are doing it, they are definitely not alone. And I'm not even sure what to say about the idea that the other parents would call the parents of their daughter's boyfriend to find out if they happen to know any details about the kids' sex life. The OP is not the girl's sex warden, MYOB.
  5. Your son has to be punished. Not for having sex, or having sex in the house...he has to be punished for getting caught. The vast majority of people in this thread had to strike the delicate balance of getting some action while in high school vs. not destroying the unspoken and arrangement that parents/teenagers have in which they both pretend that the other does not have sex. Parents do it when the house is empty or when the kids are asleep, the teenagers do it when the parents are out or parked in a car somewhere, etc. Everyone gets what they want/need, nobody has to deal with the troubling thought of their parent/child having teh secks, and the world keeps on spinning. Your son has shattered the invisible barrier through his recklessness, and he must be punished.
  6. I've been using PocketCast for awhile. It's not bad, but they redid the UI recently and I hate the new format. Also some podcasts don't seem to update right away. There's a bunch of little annoying things, like just having to clear certain episodes you don't want to download one by one, things like that. I downloaded BeyondPod yesterday out of frustration (it's free) and so far it seems to have everything one would need. Try that out first see if you can get along with that.
  7. An extra point in a blowout. I agree. That's just silly. We already went through this. NFL teams do not have a "backup" extra point team. Every NFL team has starters in for extra points. The odds of getting hurt on this kind of play are 1 in a billion (I've done the math).
  8. I think it's time the world move on from Hitler.
  9. No doubt about it, Hoodie is back in the 2nd and 3rd after losing picks from previous deals. Explain to me why people think this. I'm a Patriots fan, and I'm not sure why people think they raped the Vikings. I think the trade is great because it remedies the precise problem the Patriots had (i.e. only having 3 picks before the 7th round) but value-wise, seems fine to me. They moved down like 22 spots, pretty significant drop.
  10. Ask the Browns how they feel about the players they got for Julio. Patterson is definitely not in the same tier as Julio. I have no problem with the Pats trade, but I do agree that it's kind of funny that they're already getting lots of praise for the move despite the fact that those picks have not even be used yet. I'd reserve judgement until the picks have been made to see how they made out value-wise. Which is weirder - Belichick getting praised for trading down before seeing what he does with the picks or Belichick getting criticized for trading down before seeing what he does with the picks?
  11. Re: some of the comments in here about how people approaching retirement should be in bonds...it's certainly true that you should have a less volatile portfolio as you approach retirement, but it's not that simple anymore. People are living longer, even if you did a very good job saving for retirement, it's not easy to make those savings last 30 years if you're not getting some kind of capital gain.
  12. Many of us have played through numerous times - something that I rarely ever do anymore. In fact I rarely even finish most games one time these days.Bioshock ended a streak of not finishing games because of losing interest - I think it was about 5-6 games, with the exception of Arkham City right in the middle of that group.
  13. The mako was okay for combat, but exploring in the first game was incredibly boring. It was pretty much the same planet over and over, just textured differently.
