  1. He was determined wasn't he? Thought it was pretty awesome. Absolutely. Almost posted it myself yesterday. That dog is an absolute sweetheart.
  2. It's called "war." No it's called a war crime. Even wars have rules.
  3. Compared to all the other outcomes we were staring down it's a great outcome. Perhaps it's the best possible outcome. But it's not "great" by any means. Well unless you like spending billions to attack Syria it's great. Unless you like the blood of American servicemen to be flowing in the streets of Syria it's a great one. And don't tell me there would be no boots on the ground. To accomplish anything meaningful there would have to be. I'm not willing to do any of those things. All I'm saying is that I am not happy with the idea that this guy is getting away with this crime. I know we can't be the world's policeman, and shouldn't be. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer it if the world HAD a policeman that could punish evil doers. THERE IS NO REAL PROOF ASSAD DID IT EVEN THE ADMIN ADMITS THIS. I thought if I put it in big letters you might actually read it. Link to the bolded part? At no time have I head anyone in the Administration say, "Well, we don't have any real proof..." Maybe you should listen harder: No it takes the words of known drunken liars over things it doesn't want to hear. It reports the Soviets are amassing strength when they were completely hollowed out. It says Saddam has weapons he doesn't. That's how intelligence works. OK. I guess we have a different definition of "real proof". Personally, I accept McDonough's argument. (That being said, I don't want to use force as you know.) Not sure who you're referring to as a drunken liar. You do make a reasonable point with your two examples, however. Curveball is the guy whose lies the Bush admin used to go into Iraq. He was a known drunk with a vendetta against Hussein and he has since admitted everything he said was a lie. He just wanted us to go into Iraq and kill Saddam; So 100's of billions later, 10s of thousands of injured and dead later he got what he wanted. Fine job Intelligence
  4. I would rather ask you guys. I am going to get better tips IMO and the shtick is just the cherry on top. And I kind of know you. I have some idea whether or not I should trust your opinions. I don't know that about cinnamon buns 143.
  5. so, when looking for a restaurant to eat at, you don't see the point of learning about other people's experiences? I don't know those people so I don't really care what they think. In my experience in general people think because they eat at restaurants they know something about how they should be run or how food should be prepared, they don't. That's a big part of why so many restaurants fail. Further once you give someone a megaphone they feel the need to use it whether they should or not. And most folks shouldn't. I have no problem going in blind and making my own assessment that's half the fun to me. As someone who has spent years in the biz I have a pretty good feel for what I am getting into when I walk in. I rarely steer myself wrong. And I will listen to people I actually know and have a feel for what they like and what they are going to not like. Lastly Yelp is wide open to manipulation and so the trust factor for any review should be very low. Whether it is good or bad. I mean I love Tipsy. I know he is doing good work. I would love to get down there and give it a try because I know it will rock. But people here posted Yelp reviews when they have never been in the place or eaten one thing he has made. Sure he is our guy and that's what we do but we aren't the only ones who could be fibbing a bit. It's like professional movie reviews too many are written by people who get goodies for doing so and a Yelp reviewer could be doing the same.
  6. did the same thing (referencing her bottom heavy review record and clearly not being a legit account). I threw in another flag on Cinnamon's Yelp review for good measure. She's got a 1,000 word review, only one sentence of which describes the BBQ itself. If anyone is "portly" and "self-important," I have a feeling it is Cinnamon. link? google: McClure New Orleans Yelp Thanks. never been on Yelp. Are you Amish? What is this book of faces you speak of? Don't do Facebook either. Again see no point to it. I got you guys.

  8. Cam has made big strides over the last couple of years. His teammates talk about it, people that are around the team talk about it. People have to remember he really had a short college career. He is still a bit of a work in progress on the non-playing side. He has been pretty frank about having some things to clean up and he has been trying to do so. The towel thing doesn't bother me he has been doing that since high school. It's not staying engaged that was a problem. He really seemed to work that out by the end of last season. If the defense can be stouter early, and I think it will, this team will win more games and Cam will get some 4th quarter wins. Not his fault the defense did things like give up hail marys to lose games after all. I see a lot of talk about the option in here. I listen to pretty much everything that comes out of camp. They are still going to run it but not as often. They are installing the wildcat as we speak as well. Newton has been begging for some catches and says he can run a slant. At his size he could probably be effective doing so. But it seems he will run less and he will not be the leading rusher is the message out of camp. They have been doing a lot of work on traditional running and it showed against Chicago. Lastly the biggest issue here is the O-line this season IMO. Bell still looks rough and now they lost Campbell. If Gross goes down they are in big trouble. Be interesting to see if Gettleman will use some of that 14 million or so they have available to go get someone.
  9. Places that slow cook run out. It happens in every place worth the time to go to. Sonnys never runs out but then that's because it's the McDonalds of BBQ. Wastage kills restaurants. People are unpredictable. Space is limited. Also true

  11. My favorite part is how she gets to decide what the owner should be doing."There were other things he could be attending to." What a dumb ####. Agreed. Just a dumb ####."This was my first time here, I hadn't even glanced at the menu, and from what I was able to discern, the portly, rather self-important man telling me he was out of almost everything was the owner." So apparently she got there a bit late and had no idea that since it takes so long to cook you run out of things. Every professional review mentioned and treated it as a good thing. I was once in a very good seafood restaurant in the Keys. We went in late and they were busy. Took me 3 tries to get an entree they weren't out of. Our bad we knew we should have gone earlier. But what I got was awesome. Some folks have no understanding of how dining somewhere other than McD's works. Exactly. Or good chance she's a plant from another local eatery to take some wind out of his sails on yelp (happens a LOT in some markets, not sure about Nola) Just not a huge fan of the Yelp thing. Having run a restaurant or two I have seen people who had their ### kissed from the moment they walk in the door complain about the service. Was working one place that constantly won yearly Best of competitions in it's specialty and there were always a few contrarians who had to come in and complain it wasn't all that. Can't please everyone.
