  1. I reached on him this year in the draft but his Auburn tape and Marshall Faulk gushing over him before the season started justified it for me. He's looking great the past two weeks aside from the fumble and getting blown up in pass pro the one play vs the 9ers, hopefully he keeps it up. Love that they kept him in at the goal line too.
  2. Any reason Thompson dressed over Anderson? does he play special teams and Anderson doesn't?
  3. Don Larry making the end zone an offer it couldn't refuse I don't think he's a sell high, Eli looks like he trusts him to be his money guy in the red zone... I think I'm holding the rest of the way.
  4. Tannehill spent his entire collegiate and pro career in Mike Sherman's system. We're now three weeks into a completely new offense for him, his team leads the league in dropped passes, has an all new offensive line, and people are talking about benching him. Oh, and his safety valve in Charles Clay is gimpy too. I watched the game vs the Patriots, and he clearly was not good. But I thought there were some pretty good moments for him in the 2nd half. What exactly is the upside of starting Matt Moore? If he wins a couple games will that save Philbin? Take a look at Foles' numbers in his first handful of starts in this system. Suffice it to say they are a long ways away from being impressive. I'm not a NFL head coach, but I just don't see any upside to calling out your starting QB in these circumstances. Give him some time to learn the system and get better. Great post Not really. There's two other years of tape to go by before this three starts in a new system. He still has accuracy problems (especially with the deep ball), still holds on to the ball for too long and for an athletic guy who's able to move around well has no pocket awareness. Same problems from year 1 bleeding into year 3.
  5. If they draft a RT first round, the offense is pretty much set outside of guard and possibly RB depending on what shakes down with Miller/Moreno/Mojo. The defense still needs work though. If Patterson comes back on a cheaper deal it would help solidify the secondary, he was actually solid last year too bad he couldn't stay on the field. If the LBs play like they did last year then we're toast though.

  7. Wallace played better with a better qb, go figure, not to mention better coaching/scheme He stunk in the beginning of the year but he turned it around as the season went on, Tannehill just stinks at getting him the ball deep. He literally missed him on about 7 wide open bombs with either under throws or overthrows. If the ball was there on half those he would have been looking at 1200 and 8. He adds a ton to the offense if Tannehill can do his job. Meh. Wallace probably won't be worth much more even if they get on the same page. You're right, it probably doesn't mean anything if the QB can get it to him when he's wide open.

  9. Tate is looking to get paid, not worth it imo. LB, Safety and Guard glaring holes as of right now, it's almost worth it to take the cap hit on Wheeler just to get his stink off the roster.
  10. Would have been nice to keep Dansby and even Burnett rather than blowing the bank on Wheeler and Ellerbe... can't wait to cut bait on those two. Building through free agency always never works but it's been an utter disaster when the Dolphins try. I'm indifferent on Albert, he fills a position of need and will probably be overpaid but Byrd would look great in the secondary.
  11. Think they have to be a player in the premiere LT market. Probably will have to overpay. Monroe, Veldheer, Albert, Collins...in that order IMO. Get one, then we have a bit more luxury to take BPA at 19, then refocus on OL in 2nd, 3rd, 4th. We also need a safety with Clemons possibly moving on, and maybe a DT if Starks and Soliai both leave. Jairus Byrd would be sweet paired with Reshad, but really expensive. Sucks, but I think we also need a RB. Lamar looks more like a compliment than a feature back. MJD? Tate? Blount? Hate to pay a non-elite RB gobs of money...so maybe look for one in the draft on day 2. Definitely would rather grab a day two RB than pay tons of cash for any RB on the market this year, even Tate because as good as he looks he can't seem to stay healthy. Maybe I'm delusional but Miller started running harder and lowering his shoulder more towards the end of the year as opposed to getting pancaked at first contact like he was in the first couple games. Give him another crack at it with a real O line and see what he could do.
  12. Grimes took a hometown discount for sure looking at some of the names that are making more cash than him next year, he was a top 5 CB last season imo. http://overthecap.com/top-player-salaries.php?Position=CB
  13. Grimes signs new deal, if it's 3 years 21 mil its a steal Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 20m Will be curious to see final terms of Brent Grimes deal with the #Dolphins. Last I heard they were discussing a three-year deal worth $21M. Expand ETA: Looks like its a 4 year deal
  14. Pouncey is a top 5 C in the league, there would be a market for him if he gets put on the block.
  15. I think this says it all. I'm sure they are much more proud to say that Andrew Luck is a Stanford grad than that conceited big-mouth Sherman. He's an embarrassment. Guy is a 5th round draft picked who worked his way into being an all pro. He can talk all he wants to, all day long, guy backs it up on the field. What exactly is embarassing about him? He's a cheat that got off on a technicality that's why I don't respect him. If he keeps pounding his chest saying he's the best corner in football, eventually people are going to start to believe him. I'm not mad at him for trying to get his name out there and drive up his value but he just seems to take it too far. Now if I can say one thing safely about the guy, its that he needs Adderal. What was the technicality? He's also statistically rated as the best cover corner. Who would you take over him? The cup he peed in was cracked so the tester put a second cup underneath it so it wouldn't leak. Sherman said the second cup contaminated the result (cups are coming off the production line laced with PEDs I guess). The other thing is the league can't say which drug players test positive for, which is why every single guy that fails a test now says it was adderall so they don't get the PED stigma attached to their name.

  17. Roddy White laid it on him last playoffs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTpEQmTo8Mc
  18. So much good posting by you and MOP (who have atleast been to Miami unlike me), but this is great. I keep wanting to buy a Dolphins jersey because all I've bought is Thomas and Ginn in the last 10 years. Problem is that the Ginn experience has left me too scared to buy another jersey for someone who will just be off the team in a few years. And I actually love the new aqua jerseys. That and the general disconnect you outlined beautifully following Bullygate. The damn Bengals win just pulled me back in. I hear ya, i splurged on an authentic Marshall jersey about two months before he got traded. I was about to pull the trigger on a Hartline jersey before the second Bills game (was about 150 bucks for the jersey and shipping to Toronto) so I'd have something to wear for the playoffs which I assumed were a foregone conclusion It's getting harder and harder to support this mess.
  19. Mmm wrong, was a block in the back by Clay that didn't have much bearing on the play. You're a weak troll skypager, and you're most likely broke as you were illegal streaming a primetime game the other day rather than watching it on a tv like most normal people. You posting from the public library? Trolling doesn't pay bud
  20. He had a nice screen called back on a crappy downfield blocking penalty and a TD overturned too, if those break his way then he would have been looking at a really nice game. He was more assertive lowering his pad and banging at the line and even broke a couple tackles. The problem is he just can't ever seem to move the pile, even when he gets tackled hes getting driven backbards a lot instead of being able to goo forward for an extra yard or two. I think he's a nice flex play the rest of the way regardless, he will have plenty of opportunity.
  21. Andre Brown could be a lotto ticket once the fantasy playoffs roll around...
  22. I've been trying to move him for the past 2 weeks with no takers. Palmer is awful, unless you want to sell for 50 cents on the dollar you're almost stuck holding at this point.
  23. It's part Sherman's crappy gameplanning, part run blocking and part Miller that's the issue. Kid just can't get any extra yards. There was a play on the first drive where it was 3rd and short and miller got to the outside and tried to smash through and get the first but a Ravens player was pulling his jersey and he couldn't even break through that. That being said, he looked great vs the Saints and was lowering his pads and finishing runs. Mike Sherman thinks he's coaching in the arena league and he's really been hanging Tannehill out to dry making him throw 40 times a game with a line that can't pass block. It's been a frustrating past 2 games watching this offense.
  24. A lot of good points. But let's just talk about last nights game and how this coaching staff showed some flaws. Third and litterally 2 inches on your opening drive on the road...hostile enviroment. You have Lamar Miller and Ryan Tannehill exposing how bad the Saints run defense is. And it is bad. You trot in Daniel Thomas who is a sack of #### and not a "short yardage" specialist in the least bit and run a zone block pitch...when all they had to do is have Tannehill lean...I mean lean into Pouncy with...DT pushing his back forward to get 2 inches. It was a huge turning point......and that early in the game you must answer The Saints.....instead they got cute on the road no less. Fail. Then on defense.....3rd and 20 you rush 3 and let Darren Sproles loose on a HB Screen? You don't have at least one spy on him? After he has carved you up already? Fail. Those two critical moments swung this entire game out of control. Then add in two awful I mean downright nasty Tannehill turnovers and that was all she wrote. Both those turnovers are squarely on him. And showed his greeness yet still at the QB position. Now I am the biggest Dolphin homer on these boards...I love Tannehill. I am very pumped about his future. But he needs to get some things in order here. 1. Stop zoning in on your first or second read only downfield. Learn how to use your safety valve ala dump off to Miller or Clay...they were open multiple times and those guys, especially Miller cause damage (chunk yardage) in space. Get your playmaker the ball when you other playmakers are covered.....get that internal clock working and feel the pressure better.....he must get this going...now. 2. The coaching staff needs to now recognize what they have with Lamar Miller. He was tearing apart that defense in the first half. In the second half...opening drive....he gets another 5 yards. 2 and 5 and what to they do? Drop back to pass again. Stop it. They needed to run, run and run some more last night. When your playing a fast break offense like Brees, or Peyton or Stafford....you must run the ball till they prove they can stop it. The game was still very close to start the second half.....they blew it. They forced the passing game too often and it cost them a chance to keep this game close and possibly earn a tough road win. The coaching staff did not do a good job last night at all. And up to this point they have been doing a very solid job. But this was a team loss...top to bottom. And stop insisting on getting Daniel Thomas snaps. He stinks. He hurts the team more than helps. He should be in once every 3 or 4 drives...not every other. Miller can handle 20 total touches a game. He did at UM and he can do it now. They have 3 blazing playmakers. 1. Tannehill (all starts with him) 2. Mike Wallace (he flat out dropped a perfect pass on a streak early in the first half) 3. Lamar Miller (the guy can take it to the house any given play) Those are your big time playmakers for the Dolphins. Then you have excellent role players in Hartline Clay Gibson Where does Daniel Thomas fit in here? He doesn't. And the sooner this staff get's that the better this team will be going forward. And our defense for the most part has been excellent. They missed Wake last night...but the offense put them in to many bad situations with turnovers, 3 and outs etc. On to Baltimore and Buffalo......I say they will be 5-1 after those two games and right in the thick of the AFC East crown. Good points, wholeheartedly agree with pretty much everything here. I was telling a friend last night that I would rather Thigpen check in than Thomas right before he ripped off his 50 yard catch. Coming into the season I knew Thomas was a bum, his play through the first 4 weeks has proved it. I just don't get what the coaching staff sees in him to keep throwing him out there, he shouldn't get more than 5 snaps a game when his ceiling on any given run is about 7 or 8 yards.
