  1. Seems about right. Mayor Pete is the only one of this group that I could vote for. Never thought much of Joe, but last night it appeared to me that he is obviously sliding down hill. We dont need someone with an average IQ that cant communicate effectively or think clearly; we already have one of those.
  2. Cant get the wife to give up DirecTV, so my annual song and dance began this week after my monthly bill for Xtra and 3 receivers went from $27/month to $91/month. Called 8005315000 (none of the other numbers I tried went through) and got Retentions, but they would not budge much and only offered $15/month off. Set up disconnect date for yesterday. Called the 800 number this morning, asked for the Winback department, and got the same crappy $15/month off offer. Passed on that. Called back 4 hours later, asked for the Winback department again, and this time I got a guy that would work with me. Was able to keep Xtra at $65/month, plus a $200 Visa card lowering the cost to about $48/month, plus free Sunday Ticket (passed on the free movie channels). Not as good as last year, but if you are persistent (or lucky) you can find someone that will deal.
  3. Malcolm in the Middle: Dewey, Reese, and Craig Letterkenny: Shoresy, Reilly, and Jonesy
  4. Count me on the team that has hung on too long. My kids hated Coral, and they got their wish for him to die. Yet, Eugene, one of the most awful TV characters of all time goofballs on. Why couldn't Carol have taken Eugene into the backyard to look at the flowers? Well at least Coral/Henry has come back to annoy my kids
  5. I am from California, but I saw the boys on Sullivan live, and wish I still had enough hair left to sport a man bun
  6. Not sure if I should be proud of that accomplishment, but all I can say is "Cream Tangerine!" (I'm still wounded by the K4 ranking)
  7. ManOfSteelhead's Top 10 for KristaQuatro: In My Life Eleanor Rigby Dear Prudence Hey Jude Let it Be A Day in the Life While My Guitar Gently Weeps Across the Universe Strawberry Fields Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds If you haven't lately can you please post an updated list of everyone's #1 guesses?
  8. I was just recovering from the song-shaming of Savoy Truffle - now this. Oh the humanity...
  9. Ouch. This is definitely top 20 for me..... If I had to choose I would likely classify myself as an early Beatles fan, but have always really liked Savoy Truffle and Glass Onion.
  10. I didn't even ask for the additional $50 off per month; he just asked if I'd stay if my payment was $33 a month and I said sure! Didn't push it asking for free Sunday ticket. I have been with them for at least 15 years (which we know counts for nothing), and they also thanked me for being a customer since 2017 (which is when I disconnected for a few hours) haha
  11. A year ago I disconnected and then made the call. Got my Xttra package down to $77/month for the first 12 months, then $81for the next 12 months, plus free Sunday ticket and $200 gift card. Then last week get my bill for month 13 and it is $130. Immediately make the call to Retentions to cancel/negotiate. Am told that it went up $50 cuz they automatically added Sunday Ticket 2018. Told them to take Sunday Ticket off, and then he offers to give me an additional $50 credit per month for the next 12 months, plus reimburse me the $53 they overcharged me this month. My payment will now be $33 per month for the upcoming year, and I barely had to fight for it!
  12. The two worst I have ever seen I unfortunately saw consecutively. The first Blair Witch movie was getting heavy hype, so I was expecting something exceptional. Wow, was I in for a surprise. Just brutally bad from start to finish. I was actually mad that I stayed to the end. Followed that one up with a Midsummer Night's Dream. This is probably the worst of all time for me; truly made me want to scromit (a new word I learned this week). Just checked out Birdemic. Wow, they spent about $10,000 on it? That was about $11,000 too much.
  13. So here are the results of my annual song and dance: Cancelled service a week ago just shy of the end of the contract. Called the next day to see what new deals I was eligible for. Turns out there weren't any cuz it had not been a full year since my last great deal. Called back a couple of days later (ask for the Reconnect department ), and now I was eligible for the "All Inclusive Offer." I have the XTRA package with 3 TVs, and this offer got me $55 off per month, 12 month contract, free Sunday ticket, free HBO for 3 months. Said I would need the $200 gift card to stay, and the rep said let's just give you a $200 credit instead. Works for me! Considered switching to Directv Now instead, but was disappointed.
