  1. Glad to see Parkey ice the game with a long FG. However, Jordan Howard needs to have more than 18 carries in a cold weather home game in which you lead 14-0 at halftime and by 11 at the start of the 4th Qtr...
  2. I think Nagy just wanted to give Trubisky and the offense something to feel good about (before switching over to a more conservative/field position/ball control/eat the clock style of play calling). At least that's what I'm hoping...
  3. Nagy needs to add a "note to self" to his laminated play calling sheet... "When leading by two scores in the 4th Qtr - pound the rock with Howard and run out the clock"
  4. Damn good return and I'm more than a little jealous - but doubt the Bears ever had the chance to turn down that offer... Regardless, the best inside LB in this year's draft and a guy that Fangio is probably going to use similarly to the way he used Patrick Willis in SF is a hell of a consolation prize imo...
  5. Roquan is going to be there for sure now that the Bills have traded up to pick Josh Allen...
  6. Sorry. No can do buck-a-roo, way too hectic/busy/stressed/remaining leisure time dedicated to my boardgaming hobby/addiction...
  7. Ware being a beefy back is actually a plus in the cold - and it's one reason why I've still got him in my lineup. I think the run game benefits slightly - just not sure how TEN run D will be affected. IF I felt that the run D would suffer a bit, I wouldn't hesitate to leave Ware in there. I'm kinda feeling like Dixon has a coming out party over these next two weekends - but that's a "gut" feeling. Would hate to finally bench Ware after riding him all season only to see him plunge in a couple short yardage TDs to go along with 75+ total yards from my bench...
  8. Really struggling to pick between Ware, Dixon, Martin this weekend, yet I've ridden Ware virtually all season long. Ware's matchup against a tough TEN run D and frigid temperatures are breaking my resolve to stick with him despite feeling like he has almost guaranteed 15-20 touches. Meanwhile, Martin and Dixon seem to be on the upswing and Ware seems to be treading water as of late. Dixon especially intrigues me. So much riding on this week's game and feels like a damn coin flip decision...
  9. Can't afford to take the risk of another under-performing WR in my lineup (Crabtree on Thursday night). Going with Jamison Crowder in early afternoon game, so there's no turning back regardless of what we hear at game time regarding Julio...
  10. Of course our own sun can deliver the same via solar flare at virtually any time - and we got lucky with a near miss back in 2012.
  11. Both China and N. Korea have the ability to deliver EMP to N. America via N-S orbiting satellite (unable to be intercepted) - game... set... match...
  12. Meatheads - Smashburger - Tom & Eddie's - Fuddruckers are all better than 5 Guys IMHO Meatheads has the same fresh cut fries and better burger offerings - Smashburger and Tom & Eddie's have milkshakes that are ridiculous and Smashburger's olive oil rosemary & garlic seasoned "smash fries" are awesome, while Tom & Eddie's has better gourmet burger offerings - Fuddruckers has been doing gourmet burgers for about 3 decades and has held a place near and dear to my heart since I discovered them in Houston back in the '80s. 5 Guys is good but there are better offerings out there for the same price point. No In & Outs here in Chicagoland
  13. the animated movie they did with Strange is probably the best one they have done... most of their animated stuff is crap whereas DC does a good job with the animated films. having said that, i think dr. strange works best as a supporting character, not a lead. I wonder if they would ever be willing to try Moon Knight moon knight would rule, if done correctly +1 (loved the classic MK series back in the early 80s)
  14. I've scoured the ECF forum and googled reviews on them and gathered that their Seattle Blend (coffee/tobacco), Nuport (menthol tobacco), Vanilla Gorilla (Vanilla), and RY4 are decent. In particular some former menthol smokers really like the Nuport, and the Seattle Blend was highly recommended.Have any FBGs ordered from them in the past? If so any recommendations? How did this go? Reading good reviews from Gourmet Vapor. Anyone else tried them? I enjoyed their RY4 & 5 very much (was pretty rich IIRC) but this was quite awhile ago - I've since settled into ordering Bloog juices, cartos, and batteries for the past 18 mos or so. Bloog's RY4 and Red are good enough for me, and frankly I'm lazy and prefer one stop shopping. A couple times a year (holidays when discounts are offered), I'll just stock up and order a crap load of product.
  15. In the whole vast configuration of things, I'd say you were nothing but a scurvy little spider.+1
  16. Seems stupid - stopI can't do it - I'm too anal retentive and ADD.I want instant gratification and as soon as I pick up that ketchup packet I'm not wasting time clearing a space to dump it out, emptying the packet, and making a mess; I'm not taking the extra 20-30 seconds to pour out multiple packets. This is grab and go - hot fries meet ketchup and pie hole before they have a chance to cool off. Give it a try sometime - it may revolutionize your fast food experience, plus there's plenty of room to get in on the ground floor of this bandwagon before it really takes off IMO...
  17. I like to eat fries with ketchup. Nothing abnormal about that... However, when forced to use ketchup packets - rather than opening up multiple ketchup packets and dumping them out into a reservoir to dip fries in - I ALWAYS take an individual ketchup packet and squeeze the ketchup directly onto the fry (or fries if they are skinny like McDonald's) directly applying the ketchup as I consume them. Therefore, I am forced to use two hands to eat fries. Ketchup packet in one hand, fries in the other (doesn't matter which hand - I'm ambidextrous when it comes to this process); I don't spill any ketchup or apply ketchup to any fries that aren't already in my off-hand ready to be popped into my mouth, and I don't set down any fry that has ketchup on it. I won't put the packet back down until it is empty or I decide to have a bite of my sandwich or a sip of my drink. When I'm ready to have some more fries - rinse and repeat. I've yet to meet or witness anyone else who has ever done this and I only do it with ketchup packets. When it comes to bottles or dispensers I eat my fries just like a normal person.
  18. I won't sit here and let you talk about Calvin like that. In the middle of his pursuit for 2000, no less. Calvin is on pace for 96 VBD this year. He had 149 last year. In STANDARD SCORING no less. That 2 year stretch is as good as any 2 year stretch ADP has had. Look it up. I'll wait. See. As good as any 2 year stretch ADP has had. You can apologize now. Thanks.Calvin's 96 VBD this year will be the second best total of his career. It would rank as the 6th best total of Peterson's career- 7th best if you prorate his numbers last year for the four games he missed.Edit: that's right- Calvin could go for 2000 yards and his season would still rank as the worst fantasy season of Peterson's career. Calvin has less VBD this season than Stevan Ridley. WRs have the longer careers, but RBs are astronomically more valuable on a per-season basis, and comparable RBs compile more career VBD than their WR counterparts (without even considering the extra roster spot you get from not having to carry them as long). Outside of Jerry Rice, stud RBs trump stud WRs.Shhhhh!Keep it down please!I have leagumates here and they might not listen to one lone voice in the wilderness, but TWO may be a different matter amigo.
  19. On pace for 400 carries in the regular season alone. Also declining effectiveness. Being propped up by said carries.Foster has helped "prop up" my team to two consecutive Super Bowls (champion in 2010, finished 2nd in 2011), and he's currently helping "prop up" my team to the most pts scored, #1 playoff seed, and hopefully a 3rd straight Super Bowl appearance in 2012. :I never said anything about him being propped up in 2010 and 2011.touche I just didn't know where you were going with talk of the decline. I fully acknowledge that it's taken place.
  20. Without adding another opinion on which side is 'right' in the Martin/Rice dynasty value debate - I think accepting the bolded has been a critical component of my own success in a dynasty format.Over the years the SP has had threads, discussions, historical comparisons which have seemed to confirm that age is the greatest factor in charting elite RB production and longevity. We've also seen that "the best of the best" continue to produce and sustain the highest career workloads and production at ages beyond their peers. I agree with SSOG that the 25 year old Rice's track record and workload is a HUGE positive in the debate, rather than a negative. Rice has shown that he can handle being a bellcow and his career trajectory could very well be elite production for several more seasons. In today's NFL, 3-4 years of plug-and-play RB1 production is incredibly valuable. Positional scarcity at the RB position makes these guys worth their weight in fantasy gold, despite relatively short career lifespans.
  21. The saying is that TDs follow yards, not that yards follow TDs. Foster has suffered a dramatic decline in effectiveness that has been hidden in his fantasy totals by his strong TD production.I'm willing to acknowledge this. While it's appropriate to point out the decline in yardage and effectiveness, I don't think it was entirely unexpected entering the season. I'm also of the opinion that Foster can continue to produce at current levels or better over the next couple of seasons. Therefore, the current decline doesn't bother me as much as it will some. Also, there are certain players who have historically been great at producing TDs. I think that is one of the reasons you were as big of a fan of Vincent Jackson's career path a couple of seasons ago. I see no reason to discount Foster for continuing to be an elite TD producer...
