RETURNING THE RAIDERS TO GLORY (1 Viewer)

Snow Monkey, bring me another beer!
Hey, this guy's a vet! Show a little respect!
Maybe I will ... once he gets on the field and starts making some plays! :football:
if you can get past me to the qb ill even buy :football:
:banned: There's a reason why Magnum wears a red jersey in practice, Mr. Turnstile ... :banned:
Don't rip my O-line! Those guys are tremendous. That's why I buy them all Rolexes and pickup trucks every year.I just wear the red to look pretty.

YEAR NINE is going to be all about change.Last year the Raiders went 16-0 in the regular season and then reeled off three straight victories to go 19-0 (although Oakland was on the verge of defeat against the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game) and take the SUPER BOWL title for an incredible fourth year in a row.But many of the veterans who contributed to that achievement are on the point of retirement, while Oakland's bench is laden with talented young players who deserve to take the field.YEAR NINE will be about giving those young players their chance!

Intense young C SNOW MONKEY will start this season in place of old warhorse KEVIN MAWAE.Superfast young HB DON OLSON will start the season in place of veteran HB EDGERRIN JAMES.Speed 99 WR REIGN SUPREME will start the season at WR#3 in place of veterans WR PLAXICO BURRESS and QUINCY MORGAN.Speedfreak LB POLISH HAMMER will start the season at OLB in place of veteran ERIC BARTON.NICK BARNETT will start at MLB over NAPOLEON HARRIS.Young CB TANNER BOYLE will start at nickelback over veteran CB SAMARI ROLLE.

Because we're going with youth this season, it's highly unlikely we'll repeat the regular season success of last season. We're not going 16-0 again! But now is a good moment to give the young players their chance. We still have an unbelievably strong team. We can afford to bring in some young faces into the starting lineup because the superstars on this team - RANDALL MAGNUM, JERRY PORTER, D-JAX, TEYO, that offensive line, that defensive line, and the incredible secondary - CHARLES WOODSON, PHILLIP BUCHANON, SILVERBACK SURFER and TANK WILLIAMS - will carry this team.

 All caught up.

OK, the season has been simmed and OAKLAND have gone 11-5.This after a 16-0 regular season last year! That's our worst record since Year THREE.MAGNUM has his worst QB rating in years, at 89. He passed for 4184 yards, 34 TDs and 22 INTs.

The RAIDERS do make the playoffs but as a WILDCARD!The CHARGERS are the division champs! If the RAIDERS do wish to defend their SUPER BOWL CROWN they'll have to play THREE GAMES on the road!

Young SNOW MONKEY will be delighted to hear that in his first year as a starter he is elected to the PRO BOWL on the back of 57 pancakes and 7 sacks allowed.

Other PRO BOWLERS:RANDALL MAGNUM (natch), B.J. ASKEW (his fourth straight), both JERRY PORTER and DARRELL JACKSON, TEYO JOHNSON, MIKE WILLIAMS, MAD COW, ROD COLEMAN.

This playoff series will be a LAST HURRAH for a whole host of RAIDERS:DONOVAN McNABB (will retire)EDGERRIN JAMES (will retire)PLAXICO BURRESS (will retire)QUINCY MORGAN (will retire)DOUG JOLLEY (will retire)KEVIN MAWAE (will retire)NAPOLEON HARRIS (out of contract)SAMARI ROLLE (will retire)

Basically, the RAIDERS are about to lose a huge swathe of depth, and we're about to get younger and not quite as good at a couple of key positions. That almost certain means tougher times ahead.

The first playoff game will feature the 11-5 RAIDERS at the 10-6 BENGALS! Our arch-enemies who so nearly defeated us last year! What a game in prospect!

For the starting lineup in the playoffs we are going to bring back a lot of the vets who have been on the bench. The young guys may have had valuable starting experience this year (which will translate into higher ratings next year) but the old guys are ranked higher right now. Case in point - KEVIN MAWAE gets the starting nod over SNOW MONKEY.

YEAR NINE RAIDERS:QB RANDALL MAGNUM (99)HB EDGERRIN JAMES (85)FB B.J. ASKEW (82)WR JERRY PORTER (98)WR D-JAX (88)WR#3 PLAXICO BURRESS (82)WR #4 QUINCY MORGAN (79)TE TEYO JOHNSON (98)LT JONATHAN OGDEN (96)LG FRANK MIDDLETON (92)C KEVIN MAWAE (96)RG MO COLLINS (94)RT MIKE WILLIAMS (96)DE MAD COW (91)DE GRANT WISTROM (94)DT ROD COLEMAN (94)DT LOVE MUSCLE (93)OLB OUTSIDE CONTAIN (93)MLB NAPOLEON HARRIS (97)OLB NICK BARNETT (95)CB CHARLES WOODSON (94)CB PHILLIP BUCHANON (93)CB#3 SAMARI ROLLE (92)FS SILVERBACK SURFER (95)SS TANK WILLIAMS (95)K SEBASTIAN JANIKOWSKI (98)P SHANE LECHLER (97)

Scouting the Bengals:The offense is keyed by superlative QB CARSON PALMER (91) and WRs CHAD JOHNSON (83) and ARMSTRONG (81) whom we remember well from the last game. They've also got a speed WR#3, LANGHAM, and TE MATT SCHOBEL (86) is solid. HB is in the hands of BUSH (75). Defensive line is strong with JUSTIN SMITH (90) and JOHN THORNTON (85). MLB in the hands of the awesome COPELAND (95). CBs strong with HAWKINS (90) and HANKS (84) and Ss are all-world with FS KEVIN KAESVIHARN (92) and SS KOENIG (93).

 It took me awhile to get used to the sheer speed of rookie sensation REIGN SUPREME and HB of the Future DON OLSON!

<whisper>If you play the games...they will come.</whishper>

B.J. ASKEW 29 yard TD RECEPTION!MAGNUM gunned it over the middle again, this time to his swift FB, and ASKEW took off for the end-zone, elbowing 93-ranked KOENIG to the ground, then bulling over for the score! WAP! Take that!7-0 OAKLAND!

Craaaaaaaaaaaazy play!PALMER flipped it out to his FB EMANUEL, but then PEDRO FLUFHED, our speed 99 reserve CB, former 1st round pick and great hope for the future, came in like a freight-train and WAP! Forced the FUMBLE! Then fellow reserve DB CHRIS CASH, showing his veteran smarts, scooped it up and scooted to the end zone!CHRIS CASH 17 yard FUMBLE RETURN!14-0 RAIDERS!FIRED-UP RAIDERS ALL OVER THE BENGALS!! :boxing:

EDGERRIN JAMES 10 yard TD RUN!The veteran warhorse back burst through the hole and as B.J. ASKEW blocked TWO guys, EDGE stuck his head down and bulled in for the score! Smashmouth football from OAKLAND as they line 'em up and plough it in!21-0 RAIDERS!They sure have a point to prove!

Into the second quarter with the BENGALS reeling from the silver and black assault, they need to get a score, and quick!
