"It's just based on how physical Mike Brown is," defensive coordinator Ron Rivera said. "We want to have him up in the box.'' S Mike Green will effectively switch places with Brown and become the team's free safety. ''Now, we've got a guy who is more stout down there," Rivera said of Brown. "That's all there was behind it.''

So, what's the effect on the two players in question?

Does Green become less valuable....yes, he get's fewer tackles and let's numerous interceptions slip through his hands?

yup, because of this switch...brown

...if it holds. earlier this offseason adam archuletta was going to also be moved from ss to fs, but in the end it didn't occur. a few bad days of practice from these two and it can reverse in a hurry

Interesting, because FBG's issued their rankings of DB's, and Green was quite high. Looks like they don't read this site.

Doesn't Green almost loose the job in training camp every year anyway?
