1 yr deal for Bubba
It's about time.....I just wish they'd sign him to a longer deal so we won't have to go throught this next year!
Bubba will most likely get a longer deal if/when a final decision is made on the merger.I am glad to see that he took the deal too, same money with another announcement tomorrow as to what the other circumstances are.My guess is that he will be doing something similar to Opie and Anthony, like mornings on terrestrial radio and afternoons on Sirius.

That would be pretty sweet actually. Bubba all morning and afternoon?

Looks like it's been leaked that he will be in a Tampa station 102.5? in the AM from 7-10 and on Sirius from 3-7 M-F. So, no Friday AM shows on Sirius next year.

Wow! back to Testical Radio that sucks. I used to really love Bubba but about 3 weeks ago a freind told me that NED wasn't real and every since then I haven't been able to listen to the show without this really bothering me. I used to like those guys because I thought they were really honest about their lives but now I realize they are just a bunch of salesman and I don't trust anything they say anymore. The more I think about it I can't beleive howard would align himself with a dishonest show.

And I think Bubba sort of slipped that out today when he finally showed up to his own show (granted, he was delayed at JFK) when he said that he'd be on monday thru friday at 3 PM est "as usual". Either way, though, I'm damn happy that he's coming back. And yeah, Ned isn't real. Neither is Santa. HTH

I think it's a great move for Bubba. I was an Opie and Anthony listener while I had XM, and felt that the FM portion of their show was good, but since it was broadcast on XM we got to hear everything, even the stuff they had to bleep out for regular radio. Then when they made the walk up the street to their uncensored show, things turned up a notch.Unfortunately it doesn't look like there will be an option to hear Bubba's AM show on Sirius b/c of the fact that Howard 101 is locked in with the West Coast Stern feed. So, Bubba looks like he will have about 3-4 hours of down time in between shows and I wonder how they will handle it. Physically, I hope that Bubba commits to taking better care of himself first and foremost. Now that their deal is done, he can go back to only thinking about the show and what they can do to make it better. I just hope the people paying for his show don't suffer on getting Bubba's "seconds" every day. Maybe Sirius will now lean to creating a Bubba channel?edited to add that Ned is most certainly NOT real. His voice is done by Manson. His real life persona is Manson's father in law.I know that Manson has dressed up as Ned and performed, but I wonder how they will pull up the live Bubbapalooza show in Phoenix this week with the "real" Ned.

I don't really have a problem that NED is played by Manson but what bothers me is that they deny it when people bring it up, just tell the truth about it and give props to Manson for creating a great character. On one hand they always talk about how honest they are but yet they won't tell the truth when confronted about the whole NED issue. I just think they are hypocrites.

Nearly four years after earning what was then the highest single FCC indecency fine in history, shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge Clem is returning to free "terrestrial" radio in January, appearing on Cox Radio stations in Tampa and Jacksonville in a deal valued at seven figures.

On Jan. 8, Clem will take over morning drive time at WHPT-102.5 FM (The Bone) in Tampa and WFYV-104.5 FM in Jacksonville, hosting a show from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Then, he'll host a national show for Sirius Satellite Radio from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Combined, both radio deals are worth more than $3-million annually for Clem's production company. (former Bubba producer Mike "Cowhead" Calta will move from mornings at The Bone to afternoon drive, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Jan. 7)

"I want to do both (free radio and satellite), because I have a lot of unfinished business in the market," said Clem, calling by cellphone this morning from New York City, where he celebrated his new deal with Sirius on boss Howard Stern's radio show. "I never got to say goodbye to the fans. I was thrown off the air by Clear Channel -- which hung me out to dry."

Clear Channel Radio fired Clem, then Tampa's highest-rated morning personality, in February 2003 after he earned a record $755,000 fine from the Federal Communications Commission for broadcasting skits in which cartoon characters talked about sex and drugs. Fired days before Clear Channel executives were to face a U.S. Senate hearing on radio indecency, Clem has always said that company never gave him warning that he was crossing a serious line until he was ejected.

Out of work for nearly two years, Clem's career was resuscitated Jan. 9, 2006 when Stern tapped him to work the drive time shift on one of two channels Sirius was formatting around the self-styled King of All Media. Now, Clem will return to the Tampa free radio market two years later -- almost to the day -- after scoring ratings on Sirius making him the Number Two personality on the satellite service (behind Stern).

"I gotta stay away from the sex stuff, basically," said Clem, who often features graphic appearances by strippers on his satellite radio show, which is not bound by government radio indecency rules. "I don't want to get fired again. If I get fired again on regular radio, I'm a one-trick Willie...and I know I'm coming back with a huge target on my back."

While on terrestrial radio in Tampa, Clem was fined for broadcasting someone receiving a milk enema and was tried for animal cruelty after broadcasting the castration of a pig (he eventually beat the charges). And he's raised the stakes on satellite: In one stunt, a man's shaved genitals were sprayed with carburetor cleaner; and an Internet porn model sued Clem last year, accusing him of forcing her to use a too-large sex toy.

So the question falls to Cox Radio executives: Why hire a guy who earned a $755,000 fine from the FCC the last time he was on free radio?

"I think Bubba is more concerned about this than I am," said Jay O'Connor, regional vice president and Tampa market manager for Cox Radio. A friend of Clem's who attended his Jan. 13 wedding, O'Connor spent months negotiating with Clem's agent to set up the deal.

O'Connor says Cox had a strict indecency policy that prohibits graphic talk about sex acts, among other things. Clem's show will operate with a 10-second delay, with pre-taped skits screened by executives and advance notice required for any controversial bits.

And if Clem crosses the line, drawing another FCC fine? "Depending on the nature of the utterance, that probably means we would discontinue the program," O'Connor said. "The stakes are high. And Bubba knows the stakes. He's said to me 'I know I can't afford another mistake.'"

Now age 41 and married with a son and stepdaughter, Clem even disavows his most notorious prank, saying he would not air the pig castration he once defended in court. "It wasn't illegal, but it was distasteful," he said. "After having done it and saw how much of a grotesque act it was, I don't want to see it. It offended me, too."

Okay you are taking it too far now, I'll leave this alone.

Certainly a pretty girl. If she was down at the local bar, the guys would be tripping all over themselves. But on the "internet hot" rating, I'm not feelin' it. There's something a little off about her face. I agree with Fred - her nose is a bit distracting or something. My favorite HowardTV girl so far was Laura Leigh.

Smoking body, but her face reminds me a bit of Tabitha Stevens. It's not gonna age well, methinks.

I am with you here. Howard is usually over the top trying to make radio magic overhyping girls and this is a perfect example. There is no way she is a 10 without question. Fred is always brutally honest when it comes to stuff like this and always trust Fred's opinion.

Of the Bears inactive week 7 against the Eagles, he is the only one who is a rookie, mocca and from the south.

Nice work. Call the Bears offices and find out if he has tatts and a crooked crank.

I actually liked when Robin was trying to explain w00t, the new MW word of the year to us during the news. Even better was her trying to figure out 1337 speak and explain that. I am old, she showed her age.

I'll be 29 in 3 days and I don't know anything about any of those words and I am proud.I think it really shows how stupid the whole "news" things is. She barely knows anything about the stories she reads. I realize that being journalistic is not really the purpose of doing the news, but it just makes her seem really dumb.

I'm listening to the History of Howard Stern right now. Is there a schedule of when the different episodes will air. I looked on howardstern.com and didn't see anything.
