Assani's Poker Thread (4 Viewers)

I have Assani's tourney open in one window and my cash game in the other window, and as I watch Assani repeatedly suck out I have to deal with this hand... ugh...

1. Repeatedly?2. Have you not seen what I've gone through the past week? While I give you a ton of credit for sticking around and posting about when you lose money(many here won't do that), I must say that for as many bad beats as you post, you rarely post the hands where you suck out.ETA:3. WTF are you doing playing $5/10? Thats a tough tought game man.
1. Woah, don't take offense fella. Yeah, you're lighting that tourney up. Everything is going your way. It's great. I was just watching that juxtaposition to things like the hand above next to it on the same screen. Are you going to tell me you aren't catching INSANE cards in that thing right now??2. I haven't paid attention to everything in the past week, no, but I promise you I've caught just as bad. Poker sucks dude.3. Tough game or not, I had this guy pretty beat up when all the money went in. Sucks to lose $1300 on a single improbable card.

Agreed on 1 and 2.3. Hell, I don't know. When I play my best poker I can absolutely hang there. When I'm not playing well, or the cards suck (like tonight), I lose. You're right though -- I probably shouldn't be playing it. If I had $100k burning a hole in a bank account that might be one thing. I suppose I just do it for a little fun and to take a shot. It's fun to run up a few grand (even if I end up losing it afterwards).That said, I think I have a legitimate chance at beating 2/4NL and still making good money there, so that's probably where I should be sitting. Point taken...Just go win this effing tourney please kthx.

wow, calls an extra 50k with K-9?????
he was being a table bully for a while. he couldn't possibly have had as many good hands as he represented, but his chip stack allowed him to to play like he did.honestly, i don't know how assani lasted as long as he did. unbelievable patience.there was a point, assani, where you were down to about 62,000 in chips and no one else had less than 170,000 if i remember correctly.i would love to hear your thought process at that point. mine would be that i need to steal blinds as often as possible and if i get called i get called. even if i double up, i am still the shortstack. thoughts?

I think I was around 85K or so when we got 5 handed and got all the way down to 60K by just being card dead. The blinds and antes totaled 12K, so when my M got to 5 I did have to make a move. However before that I was never under any pressure, and even with an M of 5 its not exactly a horrible situation. With a M of 5 you really would like to steal the blinds once per round(and either double up or steal it twice once before the blinds go up). I pushed with K3s on the button once, which was a fairly desparate move but I don't think I was in real danger....I was on the button, a suited king isn't bad, and its not like they're eager to call over 1/3 of their stack simply to knock me out. I think I got QKs and pushed one more time and I was in fine shape then. Then the AJ hand where I realized I had no fold equity, but I was way ahead of his range with how he'd been playing.

so you don't ever worry about your chip stack in relation to the player your closest to? like even if you doubled up, you'd still be behind him? i admire your patience.

No. I'm aware of it, and I realize that larger stacks will be more willing to take a risk against me, but I'm definitely not worried about it one bit as long as my stack allows me to handle the current blind level.

GG, another awesome finish. How the hell do you final table pretty much every tourney you play? Sick...

The secret is.....mytagid = Math.floor( Math.random() * 100 );document.write("

To only post here about the tourneys that you're deep in.

*** SPOILER ALERT! Click this link to display the potential spoiler text in this box. ***");document.close();

Would you be willing to share the entire HH for one of these tournies where you go deep? Not necessarily with any comments or anything... just get the histories from the site and forward them to people who are interested in taking a look.

Yeah no problem. I'll start doing that for any tourney when I go deep if theres interest here, although I did it for my last final table when someone said I was being too passive and then got no comments on any of the hands.

I'd be very interested in the HH of some of some of your tournament runs, as well as some PLO sessions.Does anyone know of a program you could load HH to view them with graphics as opposed to just reading text?

A single improbably card? He had a monster draw - yes he had to fade the board pairing along with hitting his straight or flush, but you weren't exactly crushing him.

interesting hand from the $109 rebuy...villian had been very aggressive, often making that small min. raise preflop

Would you post them to a blog or just sending them via PM?
I'll post them here

I know of the programs, but they won't work on footballguys.I'm kinda done with PLO for the time being though....probably focusing on tourneys for the next few weeks, as I've been making good money from that consistently and it looks like I'll have some nice addittional income from backing Eddie.
