1.14 Kevin Durant

There are some great veteran players left in the pool, but I can't bring myself to draft them due to injury or age concerns, or general dislike of the guys. Looks like both my teams will be built for the future, though IMO not much moreso than a Dwight Howard or Chris Bosh-led franchise would be.

1.15- Toronto Raptors select SF Carmelo Anthony.

SOMFD...guy is 2nd in the NBA in PPG at 29 and is a dynamic player on the offensive side. Defense is....meh, but he makes a passable rebounder at SF.

1.17- Detroit Pistons select PG Allen Iverson

Melo's counterpart in Denver, AI is a proven superstar in the league who can not only put the biscuit in the basket, but he can also dish the rock when needed as he's usually good for 7-8 assists per game.

Damn, was hoping CP would last one more pick, thereby allowing me to give ATL a do-over for their idiotic real-life mistake of passing on him two years ago :goodposting:

So then at 1.21 the Hawks select:

Tracy McGrady

*David Sterns walks to podium*

"With the 1.22 pick of this year's draft, the Orlando Magic select, PAU GASOL."

*Crowd cheers wildly*

In honor of Milwaukee's most famous FBG, larry_boy_44, the Milwaukee Bucks use the 23rd pick to select Shawn "The Matrix" Marion, all-purpose forward and former 3rd round All-Time Draft selection.

1.28 Indiana Pacers - C Shaquille O'Neal
1.29 Lakers - G Paul Pierce. I considered him at #19 - shocked he's still around. 25/6/4, solid defender, can stroke it from the outside, score in the post, drive to the rim (shoots a ton of free throws), and has a decent pull up jumper. I'll surround him with better talent than the Celtics have. Can be the #1 option on a great team. Really only a slight notch below a lot of guys taken way in front of him. Especially given that I pick again in 3 picks, I'm delighted to get him here.

1.30 Andre Iguodala, SG

2.1 Joe Johnson, SF

VERY VERY EXCITED to see these guys work together, both triple double threats, both young and exciting.

player a: 22.0 ppg, 8.5rb, 3.4assists, 52% fg, 39% 3 pointers, 1.15 blocks, 2.15 steals

player b: 18.7 ppg, 7.9rb, 1.6assists, 55% fg, 36% 3 pointers, 1.29 blocks, 2.08 steals

player c: 19.7 pppg, 9.5rb, 3.8asists, 53% fg, no 3 pointers ,2.29 blocks, .8 steals

those are numbers since the all star break

player b is shawn marion

player c is elton brand

player a is my guy - age 24, scary athletic, playing as well as anybody in the league right now. and i don't think he has hit his ceiling yet.

Lakers - 2.02 - Gerald Wallace

Team so far - G Paul Pierce, F Gerald Wallace
