Vegas (4 Viewers)

1) Anything.  Expensive, cheap, if you liked it, let me know.  I know nothing about DT and not really sure where to start looking.

2) That's a little surprising to me.  I assume there will be one in every casino eventually.
1) Pizza Rock, one block off Fremont next to Downtown Grand. Possibly the best in the universe. Le Thai, on Fremont East. Eat and Carson Kitchen, on one block off Fremont East on Carson (duh). Most of the casinos have a very nice restaurant inside, Golden Nugget has several.

2) Since the hippie lettuce is still illegal on the federal level, the casinos won't risk their golden geese.

I see one dispensary called essence on the strip?  Is it like on the far end away from everything?
Yes, between SLS and the Strat. Around the corner on Sahara is ReLeaf. One could, theoretically, take the monorail to SLS and walk to either one in five minutes.

ETA:  On the corner of the Strip and Sahara is a Walgreens. Buy a can of Ozium, smell problem solved.

This is what we did. About a 2 block walk from the monorail station. This was my 1st night ever in Vegas when we went and it was a little sketchy @ night, especially walking back to the monorail with my ReLeaf smell proof bag for all the world to see.

This is where cargo shorts (or pants) come in handy. Theoretically.

Following the revolving happy hour around Cesar’s linq.

Anyone by chance seen Opium at Cosmo yet?  I realize it’s only been going for a couple of weeks.
I saw it in its first week. It...needs some work. Now, I was absolutely spitfaced...but I recall really liking the live band and the drag queen. There's some random juggling and really weird story about space travel. Too much weird for the sake of weird though. If you go hoping for Absinthe lite, you will be disappointed. If you go for a loose story, a few laughs, and a good non-concert, it's a good time.

Headed back to Vegas in May, this time for work. Staying at the Four Queens on Fremont. I only have 2 days - best place to play craps?

The place you're staying has a rowdy crowd at the craps table sometimes. Golden Gate has a good game. And the California is legendary for celebrating long rolls-check out the Golden Arm wall of fame in the skybridge between the Cal and Main Street Station.

Just spent this past weekend in Vegas.  Played alot of craps at Paris.  It was cheap.  10 buck min even late into the night.  That's rare at some of the better casinos.  Had a real good time and won a good bit too.   Check it out

Was in Vegas earlier this year during first and second round of March Madness, stayed at the Flamingo. $5 tables were rare, $10 until about noon and then mostly $15. Looking forward to the $10 and maybe even $5. I honestly can't remember the last time I played on a $5 table. Would be weird betting so little money, but damn, sure could play for awhile!

That craps machine game with the big dice where you hit the button is fun too.  It's only 3 dollar min for fake craps.  I turned like 20 bucks into 160 on a run the other day.  Off one guys turn

Arriving at the Mecca around 5PT. Yes it's a work trip but everyone going from my company and in my industry is a complete degenerate. Gonna be an awesome 3 nights, starting off with a rez at Yardbird tomorrow evening :excited:

Anything new around the Venetian area since last year that I should know about in terms of bars/restaurants/stuff?

On my way today back to Vegas, this time for a short conference, Staying at the Four Queens in Fremont. Want to play some craps, any suggestions on the best place around there? Will I have trouble finding $5 tables tonight and Friday night?

Not at the Four Queens, you won't. Those tables get pretty lively, too.

Got back last week from a conference and stayed at Bellagio. That place is feeling a little tired. Overall it’s still pretty nice but something small brought it down a notch. Old towels. Like gym locker towels that are thin with no fluff. It made me look at the rest of the place with a more discerning eye.

Not a fan of $15 minimum craps at night either, both there and Caesars. I told the pit boss it’s hard to teach others the game and he agreed. Only played there one night. Their tables were pretty dead too.

Absinthe was filthy and fun and my wife and I had a great time. Laughed a ton.

Make sure you ask for a room away from Fremont if you are a light sleeper. Tonight will be my first night ever trying to sleep with ear plugs.

Just got back.  It rained and was quite chilly at times.  Not what I was expecting in May.  For those staying downtown, I highly recommend Pizza Rock.  $7 personal pizza during happy hour was fantastic.  GF loved the mussels at Grotto in the Golden Nugget.

Damn, it is hot now. Yesterday 82, today 90, Sunday 100.

Any update?

Sorry I missed this the first time around - hopefully you guys hit the alley over by the Linq - it's a pretty cool area.

You guys paying for hotel rooms in Vegas are doing it wrong.  Even a part-time gambler with a Total Rewards card should get seriously discounted rooms if not fully comped.  Caesars a bunch of enormous casinos in Vegas.  I take gambling trips 4-5 times to Vegas or AC a year and can't remember the last time I paid for a room.

These are all their sites in Vegas:

Caesars Palace
Caesars Suites
Bally's
Harrah's
Famingo
NOBU
Paris
Planet Hollywood
The Rio
The Cromwell
The LINQ

I might be missing one

Famingo

I've been playing craps at South Point the last few weekends. Usually a couple $5 tables going. Walked away with plus money in 4 out of 6 sessions. Video poker next to the sportsbook even made me some coin!

We go about once a year and almost always find comp nights at either Harrah's or the LINQ.

Had two nice nights at Four Queens. Craps tables were active and the dealers were personable and fun. Can't remember the last time I had played on a $5 table, that was sweet. Have never been able to max the odds, but was able to this time. Both nights I left after a 45 minute roller. In those instances, I wish I was a more aggressive player. Combined two nights I walked away with $650. Not a bad work trip.

First time trip for a work conf in 10 days.  Staying at The Palazzo.  What do I need to know/do while I'm there?  I'll be with some work people who are not so adventurous, so I may have to sneak away and go solo a couple of nights.  I'll be in town for 4 days/3 nights.  Recommendations?

Didn't leave the Venetian/Palazzo for the first two days with meetings and dinners kind of wall to wall. Had some downtime the last night so I took some coworkers to Fremont St and they LOVED it, as expected. I didn't get near the Linq this time, but was out there in November and had a great time at the alley

Freemont street rocks. Probably my favorite part of Vegas.

Glad you guys had a good time.
