10 year anniversary trip over labor day weekend this year.

Wife narrowed down hotels to Delano and cosmopolitan.

Shows to ka and opium.

Also wants to go-to one of those house music dj pool parties.

Never been to Vegas on s super busy weekend like this, any thoughts?

How is your weather???¬†ūüėé

It's still pretty awesome here in FL. I think the high tomorrow is 82 or 84.

Have fun in Vegas.

You should be alerted that the rideshare companies are not the only folks implementing surge pricing. Venues of all types are looking to maximize profit, and there were reports of Caesars adding $2 to drinks across all properties this weekend for March Madness. This nickle-and-diming is going to bite them in the ### eventually.

Anyway, it's your 10th anniversary, so spend the money. The pool parties will be crowded, and unless your wife is 24 or something, she'll tire of it relatively quickly, I suspect.

Opium is from the madmen who created Absinthe, and might be even dirtier and weirder. But I think everyone who liked Absinthe won't be offended.

We enjoyed absinthe.

I'm definitely aware I'm going to get pwned by surge pricing, i don't have a choice when i can get grandparents to watch the kids and when the anniversary falls.   So I'll just pay.   Wife is 34 not 24.

Is cosmopolitan still a hip trendy place for the young?   If so I'd rather do Mandalay

Sorta, but mid-30s is definitely not too old for Cosmo either. I definitely am too old, but I'll play video poker at the first-floor Chandelier Bar every trip, because it's the prettiest place to gamble that I'm allowed in :lmao:

4 days at Bellagio. Great time watching basketball. Thursday and Friday didn't seem that crowded but Saturday was insane. Just hard to move in the casinos and on the street. Fun as hell though. If you're a CBB fan, should go for the first weekend at least once in your life.

I fondly remember all the great views in the Chandelier bar.

Do you guys have the stadium seating or do you sit at a table? I've been there twice for UFC fights and both times we had a table and it was great. But the stadium seating looks awesome.

We got the stadium seating... 2nd row, enough couch space for 7-8 guys.  We were there from 9:15am until the last game was over.   It was awesome indeed.

Delano is awesome - the rooms are great with floor to ceiling windows and great views. Pretty sure it’s rhe Four Seasons now. Lots to do in the casino. But, it’s at the far end of the strip and really hard to walk anywhere.

Cosmo is a bit ‚Äúhoity-toity‚ÄĚ for me, but some people like it. The rooms there are awesome too - make sure to get a balcony room with a view of the bellagio fountains. Location is WAY better because you can walk almost anywhere from there.¬†

Make sure you get out and walk the strip as far as you can. All kinds of characters a on those busy weekends. And, as stated earlier, get downtown for a night. It’s a blast.

I can’t help with the pool/DJ thing. That’s further down my list of things to do than a hot burning sword shoved up my ###.

Did my first March madness trip this past weekend. Not a fan. Wayyyyy too many people. Couldn't get on a table, and moderate places like Paris and PH were spreading mostly $50 min games... Hell even the Fremont craps tables were $15. Getting anywhere was a huge hassle with the masses everywhere. Probably not doing that again

on a happy note, I cashed my first poker tournament at the Wynn, which was pretty awesome. I finished 10th out of about 160 for a $600 score. The $1k payouts were 3 or 4 ahead of me...ah....

I think it depends on what kind of trip you want. If you want to relax then Delano (or Vdara) might be the way to go. If you want to be in the middle of the action then Cosmo.

Cosmo is by far our favorite property due to the balconies with fountain views, slot selection, food options, customer service and location.

I felt the same when I went for the Super Bowl this year. Loved the atmosphere but wasn't comfortable with the table game limits. Probably won't do that again.

Nice job on the tourney run!

Big fan of Vdara.   It’s like an oasis in the middle of everything.  Staying there for the 3rd time in October.

That's of the things that gives me pause for going over labor day weekend.  Extreme crowds and table limits.  But the time i have is what i have

$50 minimum on craps is crazy.

I asked the craps pit boss at Caesars last year to open a $10 table when they all were switching to $25 at night. I told him it’s hard to teach clients or friends the game at higher limits. He agreed. If they want to cultivate new players and not intimidate them straight away, let them get some action going. Gives a good mix to a game and many will play higher anyway plus those leveling up.

That's awesome.  Congrats.

I did my first live tourney at the Borgata in AC last week ($230 monster stack).  After about 6 hours of play, I was knocked out at 40 something and paid spots started at 18th.  I'll do another tourney someday but I think I know now that cash games are more my thing.  I hate being tied up for that long in a tourney.

I've never been in Vegas over labor day but I know it's a busy weekend. Not sure is it's SB/MM busy though so maybe it won't be quite as bad at the tables. Cromwell is usually pretty good about offering lower limits which is where we tend to play since they have some of our favorite dealers and the drink service is almost always great.

If you're not worried about comps you can always try hitting up the mid strip CET properties (Bally's/Cromwell/Flamingo) to get some table game action.

Exactly on point!

I was trying to teach some friends at Aria - after 5-6 straight slaughterhouse rolls my friends bailed we should have just handed the dealer 1K when we came to the table and walked away. Never even handled the dice. No fun whatsoever.

We are having our FF draft this year in Vegas for the first time. Any ideas on a good place to hold a draft for 12 guys? I'm thinking about just renting a conference room at one of the hotels, but wanted to see what kind of ideas you guys had.

Also, we are planning a dinner for about 25 people - everyone will want good food but they won't want to spend an arm and a leg. Suggestions?

what would you like to know?

I played the 40/80 limit game at the Bellagio Wednesday through Saturday...won every session.

I bet about 30 games over the same time span and hit 75%.

I don't know if it would work at the Flamingo. Rooms already are so cheap and complimentary rooms may make it even tougher. Still worth a shot. If they can't do anything they'll say they can't accept tips or something like that and slide the money back to you. The newer places seem to have no issue with the front desk staff accepting tips but the older places sometimes do. Look for the youngest, happiest looking person at the desk and go right to them.

This guy did the $20 trick at Flamingo and got a Go room but didn't get resort fees waived.

Update - I checked in today and did the $20 trick.  I was upgraded from a standard GO room to an executive room.  The view isn’t great but it’s a 100 square feet larger. No offers to remove the resort fee.  But I have a complimentary stay so it’s cool.  Only downside is that my room is an absolute hike from the elevator.  The exercise is good but I just want to gamble!

ETA - I mentioned to the lady that we are celebrating my buddy’s 50th birthday (complete lie) but I don’t think she cared.

Anyone ever play poker at Golden Nugget?  If you’re willing to gamble and accept variability, this is the place to play.  Never seen anything like it.

Just found out that I'm going with my boss to the Mortgage Mastermind conference June 4th-9th. So that'll be 10 nights in Vegas in less than four weeks. Pretty sure I'm going to need a live transplant after that.

Going next week.  Looks like a crappy week for sports betting since it's really only NHL games (I think playoffs start Wednesday).  NBA playoff don't begin until the day I'm leaving LV and I know zero about baseball anymore.

@hooter311 and some others should have some good Masters plays in the Wagering thread next week, if you're into that at all.

The line is dropping from up around +190, but you should be able to get Gastelum around +160 out there Saturday night in the co-main event of UFC PPV

Can't go wrong betting the over in the Wednesday hole in one contest at the masters and get hammered drunk in the sportsbook.

Or I guess you could bet the under and be a mean hammered drunk, whatever you're in to.
